Just goes to show that for Sanctuary Blood Magic faction: water and air magic are the way to go. Soaked gives vulnerability to air damage.....

Water magic is generally pretty crap right now...  the Tide Master's specials are good though.

Frozen Ground is good in some fights against walkers I guess, but other than that... Ice bolt is oook I guess, but the general usefulness as awhole is blah.

As for summon elementals, Earth and Dark is usually the best IMHO, Earth blocks more areas and is the hardest to take down (espeically if you just keep them in spirit form and defend ) and can Petrify if you want. while dark and dispell effect and usually do the most damage output.

At this point Earth / Light / Dark seem to be a teir above the rest, Prime is very good forst casters too, but not so much for Might heroes (well actually disruption is good since the defense it remove is very signficant)

Some words from me regarding chilled effect, it's a potential game winner if you have tear of asha, but not that great as tsunami.

Well, you cast tsunami, then blizzard and circle of winter, if you are very lucky all your enemy forces will be frozen till the they are slaughtered. The only threat when they are all frozen are their ranged unit, but if they are small unit then it's no problem.

Frozen ground also help for controlling the battlefield if your luck are bad.

Water magics are all about limiting enemy movement. And tear of asha enchance it (by turning your close to useless chilled effect to awesome frozen effect).

The always critical hit with the ice breaking spell might also useful, though i never tried it.

sorry for posting in a old thread. But don't you think they could easily fix the chilled effect changing the 20% vulnerability to fire to, let's say, 10% vulnerability to magic (all types).

I agree with ChaosDragon that Water magics are all about control. But the damage is already very low and the control/usefulness is not enough.

Stone Skin for example is clearly superior to Ice Armor, last longer and gives more protection. Ice Armor last just 4 turns and gives the almost useless chilled effect, but with the 10% magic vulnerability Ice Armor could be a more interesting choice for Magic heroes while Stone Skin could be better for Might heroes or those who just want a better might protection.

What you think? They could change this in the next patch, really easy to do.

Depends on your faction, with sanctuary, that control provided from water magic is wonderful.

Regarding ice armor, it's wonderful with tear of asha.

As for its damage, damage spells are currently too useless in this game, so other elemental magic that do damage are worse than water magic (fire bolt vs ice bolt, i'll always take ice bolt).

yeah man, now I understand.. I was playing for the first time as a bloodmage with air/water magic. Lightning bolt do very good damage, but I don't have the opportunity to use it when I want to (or when I need), cos most of the time will be better if I use some healling/support.

Ironically, The hardest AI heroes I found was those mages abusing of damage spells.

Damage spells pretty much blow. But they do screw up the other guy's healing calculations (assuming he is making them). Since the game is all about winning without taking losses, enemies who use AoE damage spells are the most painful. They cause losses to a bunch of different stacks, which is hard to clean up.
