Hmm, let's try it again. Which WoG options should be enabled and in general how is the game supposed to be installed/configured?

When playing it I usually set wog options to default, then change -if necessary- Phoenix special options in its column. As Berserker specified, some wog options could screw the game play, as commanders or henchmen. Did not try yet with them but it is personal taste, except TDS I never play with them, overpowered.

Warmonger, please load Settings\PhoenixSettings.dat and after that experiment with WoG options on your own risk. Commanders and henchmen are playable, but the balance is not based on them. Good luck.

I have done a first re-draft of the script99.ert text. In the process, I thought of some more changes to the Manual, since some of the text is common to both documents. (Any merging of others' Manual changes with my recent ones will be my responsibility.) The updated versions are at

I expect I will still be finding (my) typos and other changes a month from now, as I learn more about Phoenix Mod, but that is it for now.

"FATALITY" (from the first example) is not in script99.ert. I found it in script99.erm, which I did not touch:

It appears to me (on a very quick look) that somehow this portion of the script is being repeated, first going through one branch of the if-else, and then another. Just a wild guess (maybe I don't understand the problem, though).

"will kill" was my choice. At first was "killed" but the message is showing in battle log before the attack occurs, so in my battles I had the right thing:
Damage: xx. Will kill: x. Or Fatality if all stack dies.
But I never tested this on ballista or with double damage. Seems the problem ,comes from there. In fact all you need is a "," after the kill/fatality.
Damage: xxx. Will kill: x, does double damage.

Sorry, I meant no offense with this remark.
Actually, I was saying that Polish community is also among the biggest ones, though usually Polish mods stay in Poland. I know a couple of pretty large-scale mods which are not available in any other languages including English. I hope this globalization trend will affect Poland as well.

Actually, I tried to co-operate with some Polish modmakers (two times) and never got a reply, though the projects were both alive. I don't want to generalize this experience, but for some reason I haven't tried to reach Polish guys since then. Even though for me, Belorussian, it's pretty easy to translate from Polish since my native language (the first one, along with the Russian) is sufficiently close to Polish (not to mention that we're geographical neighbors).
Also, I'm super-duper healthy now, so I have no excuses for not finishing TDS translation this time. It means... me neither!
