Dynasty Weapons offline and in map editor (Patch to download)

Hi all I finally made a patch to make it possible to use dynasty weapons offline and in map editor. I made it because I think it will give more pleasure to play offline and it will make some use for map creators also.
This is simple intaller (.exe), so all you have to do is run it, choose your main game folder and install it.
If you have any mod or something with name Data8.orc, please rename it, because this patch is using this name. After installing you will aslo have an Uninstaller if you won't like it or need it, you will find uninstaller i your start menu. DONT FORGET to uninstall before applying any OFFICIAL patch.

I hope it has not been much work for you bc you will probably have to repeat it as soon as 1.2 comes around.
Modding a half-broken game so early has its cons as well.

Does this modify any files or just adds the data8? Wondering for backup need.

EDIT: Nvm just read it again and it seems you have the uninstall covered in case of patch needs. Thanks for this!

No, it's easy to do it, it was harder to find out how

It just adds Data8.orc so no backup needed. But if you want to remove it better use uninstaller, so you wouldn't have unneeded uninstaller file later.

Hey there, I've installed the patch and I want to ask if some things are working as intended.
Weapons go into the normal backpack, instead of the hero dynasty tab, and they seem to be already fully maximized. Unfortunately, I have no information about what they do and what bonuses they offer, on mouse hover it just displays their long "biography". Is there a way for me to see what each of the weapons does?
I used a custom map made by an Ubi forums member (where he put all dynasty weapons to be collected) to test the mod shortly. I only equipped a magic DW on my hero weapon slot, and the rest went in my backpack. I enter a fight and, to my shock, all bonuses from all the weapons I had in my backpack (including might weapons) were available for me to cast In other words, it doesn't even matter what's on my weapon slot, since I'm apparently fighting with my fists full of guns
Is this mod map-dependent? As in, I can only benefit from it if I - 1: replay the campaign or 2: play custom maps where DW's can be found on the map (which are non-existent at the moment), I see there is no way to pre-assign a DW to a hero to use them in the current custom maps. Found no way to use them in duels either, so I'm assuming they work like normal artifacts (only imba)? Can you elaborate on how exactly the mod works?

It makes them as normal artifacts. They are no more DW. I din't test it much, so not really sure what is wrong. It might be map depedant or smth.
The promblems I see is:
1. they all give bonuses, even if they are in the backpack, right?
2. only description is shown instead of what bonuses it gives, right?

It's just not for everyone. And actually there's no normal use of it, because I cannot fix it to work normally, tried in many ways, but no luck. However it should be usefull for map maker to put dynasty weapons and players shouldn't use this mod to play these maps.
So I think I'll just make some offhands to be main hand weapons or something, but it's different story. Anyway thanks for feedback.

yep. The stacked bonuses thing has also been reported as a bug by online players, so I'm afraid you can't fix it on your own and might need the bug fix from Ubi first. As for pt. 2, yes, I can't see what bonuses they bring except in battles, when I open my spell book or right click on units to see their passive bonuses.

I have restarted the sanctuary campaign and got the tidal staff. So far so good, I think I'm gonna replay some campaign maps, just to have some fun with the weapons

@avalon00x: not really, since online players can use them in a different manner than offline. They can use them in duels and any present custom map, they only need to encounter them once in the game and use them forever. Here they're just like any other artifact, you have to pick them up every time. Personally, since the weapons are so powerful, I'd make some sort of dragon utopias where you can win them, too bad I know 0 things about map making

Actually I could mod an object (which hero can visit), so it would have some guards and if you win, you get a weapon (not sure if it's possible to make it random).

wow this was...unexpected

Sorry for being picky, just some questions:

1. The exe file just adds the Data8.orc file & does nothing else right?
I'm unsure why we couldn't just receive the file directly & then we can put it into the appropriate file ourselves (unless it's to avoid those pesky questions from some people about where to put it etc, which I can understand...I like having full control over what I am doing

2. Will these "weapons" appear randomly on the ground guarded by creatures or in artifact shop same as other artifacts if I were to create a new skirmish game like Brave New World?

Else I'll just have to one day get a fan-made map (yeah right!) & put some somewhere on map [guarded ofc] & have them available also for AI enemies to pick up as well for equal chances.

3. Still would be good if one could mod or add weapons tho or else, your thoughts about offhand weapons may be better.  IMO, main-hand weapons are biased towards might attack.  Without them it biases the magic vs might hero balance.

PS it's not an insult, especially to try to make the gameplay closer to other heroes games...many thanks for your effort.

1.It just adds the Data8.orc file and uninstall.exe file to you main game folder and nothing else. I made it because for some people it's easier and you don't have to go and search for game folder, plus you get uninstaller. Well I will make two versiosn next time (going to make some changes to this one)

2.Not sure as I didn't have much time to test, but theaorically these weapons should act as normal artifacts. But I think I forgot to take off flags: can't trade, can't sell. So these functions shouldn't work.

3.I can change stats, so if I remake offhands to main hand weapons (not all of them ofcourse), I can also make it more Might useful. There are actually swords for might heroes and staves for magic heroes, so it's not only might heroes who loses something if playing offline.

I installed patch 1.2 and this does not seem to work anymore together with your addon, any chance youll update yours to work correctly with 1.2?

Also I belive that the patch itself has a data8.orc added

i've found a way around it,u rename the official data8.orc to data10.orc,install the mod,then rename the mod's data8.orc to data9.orc,finally rename the official data10.orc back to data8.orc...it should work until BIGJOCKER edits his mod

edit: it causes the game to crash so...better wait for the new mod

It would be nice, but the item is TOTALLY useless for campaign then, as it will disappear right after you finish the mission you got it in (just like all lesser artifacts).

If you ever make a 1.2.1 version of this, could you please keep that in mind?

F@ck you OP, I had to reinstall everything from the start.
Because your little patch overwrites the file "Data8.orc" and it just crashed with your patch on version 1.2.0 of the game (which, surprise surprise, uses "Data8.orc").
