Is there any info on v1.3 or can we consider H6 pretty much dead?
@odium, I'll just quote myself from H6 1.1 discussion thread p14

"Would it be any help if you knew a patch will arrive in Dec & then another in Feb & last patch for the vanilla game will come out same time as second expansion in about Apr2013? [going from H5 timeline]...wouldn't really help me"

I would guess a 1.3 patch in Feb & guess that would include fix user-made MP maps playable online & some more bug fixes (but not all bug fixes) & some token balance changes...

I doubt townscreens will arrive before 1.4 & that will be few months before or at release of first expansion late this year.

considering what happened last time on ubi forums when 1.2 info was announced, I doubt they would give ANY early info this time...& I don't care either

your best chance is for JollyJoker to say something useful early again like retrib aura or pressed attack changes

The game and its future are hardly dead but it is not quite moving as fast as I would have hoped. Also, hi guys!

It looks almost dead actually. No serious activity on the player's end and certainly no signs of activity on Ubihole's end. I guess we could have another patch by the end of February or some time in March but it looks like the number of people who care about it is dwindling. Of course the obnoxious communication policy of Ubisoft is again to blame for this.

...Also, hi guys!
Hello Elvin, there should be a requirement for insiders to post extra inside info when they post here...expecially anything on whether any missing features are being brought back into the game...not just soon [I actually write this on behalf of others only in this case, hint KingImp plus non-dynasty weapons]

@Zenofex, you may say its ubi's communications policy to blame, but there's also the fact that some people don't care because the game at 1.3.1 will still be so far from polished with many facepalm stuff remaining that it will still seem like a b*tchslap/incomplete even after 1st expansion ...

Their main focus has to be 1st expansion now to meet target of late this year, since they are so slow to fix/re-fix any existing thing.  I actually doubt they will have anything in Feb now.

No communications policy will help when elements of a SP/MP strategy game are not there, while features to entice casual gamers/more rpg/achievements/stats/DRM are a higher priority (but even then there's no proper townscreens).

Meditation is bugged. It gives min([2.15(m - 30)], M) mana points instead of just 0.15M, where m - player's current mana points, M - maximum of mana.

The bad design decisions are beyond redemption, that's true, but the game as a whole could still at least simulate life via regular updates on the most important issues. For example - some half an year ago they said that they got the message about the town screens but there is still no proof that they are actually doing something about it. If there was - say some draft version of town screen X - then the complaints would have been reduced. The same thing goes for the other major complaints - sim-turns, custom maps in MP, RMG, the balance between the factions, etc. In some of these cases there isn't even a confirmation that they are considering the addition of the said features. As a result - fewer and fewer people care. Now imagine what would be the picture if some high-ranking Ubisoft person came before the half-disappointed-half-apathetic crowd and said "Yes, we're working on X, sure, we're working on Y and Z too and you can expect to have at least X by mid-spring with Y and Z coming no more than a few months later" or something. That would make a difference, trust me.

But the real answer is "We are working on X using some junior inexperienced programmer, we'll think about Y & Z in our minds.  You can expect X (townscreens) by about the time when first expansion comes out, Y (simturns) will come 6mths after first expansion, and Z (RMG) will come at second expansion..."

"Meanwhile, have some more achievements/stats/dynasty weapons/facebook competitions."

That will make a difference alright, just not what ubi would like though

Well, if they don't intend to do something about the most serious complaints, then the game is dead and will stay dead - so nothing to worry about. The above is with the presumption that they still intend to put it back on its feet.

Well what else can we presume when we are kept in the dark. Our only source of information are insiders and their hands are tied or they are in the same dark as the rest of us are.
Forums are half dead and this server migration is not helping Heroes either. Game is in free fall and, as things are now, there is nothing to stop it crash and burn.
And worst thing is that it had potential to be great. Damn...

A few reasons why we shouldn't be "negative":

1. Negative attitude shortens your life
2. Such attitude creates unpleasant future (the more you complain, the more things you'll find to complain about)
3. It harms others (a negative comment may affect other community members - especially those who take Heroes to heart)
4. It won't help make the game any better (constructive critisism is better).

Let's stop being negative and complaining.

Let's focus on problem areas constructively, I mean we all want to see a Heroes 7 in the future?

OK, OK that post made me smile
Specially reasons 1-3.
Unfortunately for constructive criticism and focusing on problem areas constructively we need the other party (one that actually can use our criticism and do something about problem areas) listen to it.
UBI shows absolutely no interest in what we have to say or our attempts to help the game. We do not have conversation with UBI representatives, we are talking among ourselves time and time again.

And whats even sadder is that positive people suggest playing some other game until this one is fixed.

CRITICISM

Quote:

LOL, I don't know who exactly DoubleDeck means in his post about negativity/complaining...I stated some fairly accurate things about timeline so far, never said the game was dead & even tried to elicit some further info

Anyway the posts above generally do have something constructive to say, for ubi to improve...it wasn't just "it's the worst, blah, blah...".  Although saying "dead" could be a bit of an exaggeration & lack of info never hurt me.

Constructive criticism vs destructive criticism:
The other point is that so far the nice-guy approach does not seem to produce any speedy results;
while the acrimonious/insulting/loud approach on the ubi forums regarding the achievement comparison bug DID appear to produce a hotfix! {but then again the achievements thing was likely something designed by the managers so they have more priority}

If people don't complain again & again, it appears the process won't improve if they make H7.  There is a very worrying trend about moving away from the core of the game which is turn-based strategy and catering more towards casuals/rpg/facebook elements.  Ofc not everyone will be worried by this.

The multi-players should be completely up in arms over the inability to play user-made maps online in MP.  Tell me why achievements comparison is more important???...

& tell me if that is constructive criticism that should be listened to; or is it just a complaint that would not make the game better in the next patch?

I'm not sure whether you are serious or not. I don't need RL advises, thanks - we are discussing Heroes VI here, not the latest zen technique to overcome the stress of the modern society.
As for the constructive criticism - there has been a truckload of constructive criticism since the beginning of the beta (and even earlier) and there still is. It just falls into deaf ears. Surely you will notice that if you take off the pink glasses.
I don't want to see Heroes VII - not a Ubisoft-produced Heroes VII at least.

Let's focus on the positives and build on that, Heroes VI can be a great game, all we want is balanced factions....it's actually got great mechanics...
