2011 Game of the Year
So... the new year is approaching. We've had a LOT of good games come out this year, but which one did you find ZEH GAME?
It sure as hell ain't Heroes 6 at least
For me it's The Witcher 2. Awesome story (though not as awesome as the first game's), exciting combat and memorable characters. CDPRED also shows extreme love for their fans, even making DLC free and completely removing DRM as an apology for DRM-failures. It's a damn good game with damn good developers.
Runner-ups are TES V: Skyrim and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Batman: Arkham Asylum would probably be in the list as well if I had played it ^^
So... discuss.

The Witcher 2 without a hint of doubt.
Skyrim will get all the official prizes, of course, but The Witcher deserves them.

Dunno. Definitelly it won't be Heroes 6
As a fan of Serious Sam series, I must admit 3rd part is not perfect and does not deserve the title, unfortunatelly. Still, great game, awesome shooter experience.
My vote goes to Portal 2, mostly because I played it unlike the majority of 2011's hits and fails. This game is simply perfect in every aspect and I can hardly find a weak spot.
The only issue is probably related to bad support for custom maps, which need to be launched from console. Still the fact that hundreds of fan-made maps are avaliable already is rather an advantage
On the other hand, I don't even bother trying games if I'm not sure I'll like them.

I agree with DF this year has been rather dull tbh. Funny as it held so much promise at the start of the year. (H6, DA2...)
But then again I haven't been playing too many different games this year. (I haven't even played Rage yet, WTF?! )
So for whatever it's worth, my vote goes to Skyrim.

Excluding Heroes 6, I'd say Witcher 2.
My video gaming habits have consistently been in decline for the past couple of years. I haven't played much stuff.

The last freshly released game I played was Oblivion, just to say how much I am up to date. From seeing screens here and there, I will buy Skyrim but first waiting for some good mods, because fans are always right. Oblivion without mods was sterile.

no it's coming out some time next year
looks awesome, though I hate the ending if the leak is true
all Blizzard games keep getting delayed atm because of Titan, Battle.Net 3.0 and real money stuff in Diablo 3 etc

Heart of the swarm is a joke. it costs as much as starcraft 2, and even though it was meant to be "just sc2 to play multiplayer", there are new online units (of course!), so you kinda "have" to buy it if you play mp.
What a joke to pay 200$ for the whole SC2.

It doesn't even have a price yet. Afaik, Blizzard said that it would be priced as an expansion. Also you don't need it to play multiplayer, Wings of Liberty will have its own ladders.
Plus you get to play as a little bit more sinister race in the campaign!

Witcher 2 had too little "game" in a game imho. it was mostly a cool story in a stylish environment, but the "game" itself sucked @ss.
hence I consider it a worthy title, fun to play once or twice, but just not enough of a game. The combat system is flawed to the extreme. It was all about rolling around in the mud and doing 1-2 hits, then back to rolling, rinse repeat, over and over. The animation poll was reduced greatly and the most "awesome" eye-candy moves were gone, replaced by generous left-and-right swings, rather pitiful too.
