Here's a novel idea. Let's let the Mods enforce the rules the way they see fit; period, end of story. They are Valeriy's representatives and it is their judgment alone that will decide on these matters.
Some of you may have the mistaken notion that just because you spend an inordinate amount of time here you should get to decide on such matters. This is democracy at its worst, where the mob makes the rules. The mods give a lot of leeway here in the Tavern in terms of what they allow(too much in some people's opinions). Enjoy it because Unka wouldn't have any of our hooliganism.
To the mods, Bolty from the Lurkerlounge had a number of interesting things to say about websites. You can find his final words here
Bottom line is--spam kills long-term interest in a site. I know that if the Mods applied a stricter enforcement of the FAQ regarding posts, half of my posts would have been deleted. But, I'd much rather have them do that on a fair and equitable basis than the alternative.

the tyranny of the majority.. plato called it the simlie of the large and powerful animal. Bottom line is democracy always falls to the lowest common denominator.. in this case, that would be our *hilarious* spammer group.
Hats off to Hexa and the measures he has already taken. My message?
Personal insults and regular spamming just are not funny, except if you are mentally inept. All the members who post here are people and can get hurt or angry.. just remember that.. at least when Gootchy or Stiven toss about they are the first to apologise and say it is a joke.

I have a question for cat.
If you using this like a court of law then you must realise that once the verdict is given, then the other side will launch an appeal.
And in any Court of law, the process must be upheld which will further increase the subject to debate again
This might cause a lot of work for the ruling council.

lol, okay.. here's some technical jargon for you me deary..
The HC Law courts only have original and not appilate jurisdiction, meaning appleals are impossible 
(I did do an AS in law last year ad it was horrible.. but that's another [hilarious] story...)

How do you want to run a law court, if you don't know a damn about law? When determining if someone ois guilty or innocent, there is no place for personal feelings. The judge can't say someone is guilty just because he doesn't like that person and vice versa. And several people here already tried judging that way. And if I'm not much mistaken, if person A brings person B to the court we determine if person B is guilty like this:
Person B is guilty if person A can prove it.
Person B is innocent if A can't prove B is guilty or if B proves he is innocent.
It seems that I know most about law, so maybe I shoud be the judge?

You say you know your stuff about law, huh? Well, you don't know much if you didn't know about presumption of innocence (or something like that). You need a better judge.
