I voted the Haven faction b/c the Radiant Glories are for sure Overpowered, the Griffin dive + unlimited retaliation is very good, and the Champions are at least decent.

Technically I think the Haven elite line-up is an autowin because of the horse**** dispel power of Radiant Glories, but the Sanctuary elite line-up is the most well-rounded and synergistic imo. Frozen ground is awesome for creeping walkers and snow maidens are otherwise a reliable ranged unit, spring spirits have awesome tanking power and spirit link, and kensai are a heavy melee that work very well with the rest of the line-up; they're the first creature to be targed by the AI, so drop a spirit link and a medusa regen on them and you're locked in and good to go for some quality asskicking time. Even against a player, ignoring kensai can be costly because once they get their momentum going their multi-attack ability can really start to dish out a lot of pain.

Yeah I like the Sanctuary elites too.  The glory dispel is absurd.  I'm so sick of it!

I like Sanctuary's Elites best, by far, but I agree, Haven's is objectively the best in terms of power, mostly due to the Upgraded Glories. I have learned to stop buffing units until the (UPG) Glories were taken care of. (which is terrible because Glories are otherwise such WEAK units, and I'd rather kill off the Sisters, Griffins or Marksmen in the Haven Army first.)

ETA: I also love Stronghold's Elites, though they cannot measure up to Haven/Sanctuary. the Dreamwalker's Earth and Sky is very handy to keep enemy units (ESPECIALLY Glories and Sun Riders) at bay, and in the campaigns, you can amass enough of these to make it do some ridiculous damage. (or alternatively hasten those slow Crushers to soak up the retaliation from enemies). Reinforced Life-Draining Centaurs pretty much reduce every foe to mince meat, with Stoneskin they simply become a practically unkillable slaughtermachine. Jaguar Warriors are kinda meh imo, but they can easily reach enemy Liches and Centaurs, making them much better blockers than frail Harpies or slow Marauders. Plus, they are one of the faster creatures in the game initiativewise, meaning you are very likely to cast your spells first in most major combats.

best elites, Haven for sure. High morale + heroic charge + cleave + glories is usually gg. But most of the time Griffins just sit behind due to marksman, doing diving attack once in a while.

best SET of elites, I vote for Santuary. All 3 units have their use and actively take part in combats. They also combo well with base/champion units

I'm suprised nobody has taken in consideration the Necropolis set of elites. Several times playing against them was painfull and annoying. Combining a magic hero with the liches, together with the life draining vampires plus Necromancy, plus some animate dead from the spectres gives you the impression that you are working in vain all the way along trying to destroy that army. Wether I do agree that radiant glories are overpowered, I think Necropolis elites are much of a challenge for anyone, including Haven's.

I picked Necropolis. Liches are so much better than any other unit at any other tier that Necropolis would be the best elite tier even if they didn't get other troops at all. Their other troops are two walls of meat that are quite effective at that job and that in turn synergizes with the Necropolis' access to three archery units. The Lamasu takes up a lot of space and is hard to kill, and the Vampire is not only hard to kill individually but heals itself when it fights mortal opponents. Both of them can walk into a fortress during a siege, bringing the entire faction to one unit that is in any way disadvantaged by the enemy hiding in a castle.

But the bottom line is that the Liches do more damage than any other unit - by a lot - and they have a one/battle heal on top of that just to make it more ridiculous. The Necropolis is better than you at absolutely everything, and their elite tier is no exception.

What your citing is the Necropolis faction as a whole.  When we're discussing Elites vs Elites you can't factor in Spectres etc.  If we said which faction was the best, then I think most people would agree that it is Necro.

However, in a battle of Elites vs Elites, I'm not so sure necro is the best.  And good luck keeping that vampirism spell on one of your creatures when the Radiant Glories will dispel it in 1 attack... an attack you can't retaliate on.  Lamasu seem a little bit squishy to me too.

Radiant Glories can't dispel the vampirism off a Vampire unit, because it's not an effect. It's a constant ability. In an elite vs. Elite standoff, Haven has no healing (their heals are on the Core and Champion units), while the Vampires heal themselves and the Archliches lay down a single very large heal effect as well.

Remember: Vampire Lords don't get that much respect because they are slow and they only heal themselves. But the less units are on the board, the less that matters. If you're literally only fighting with the elites on the table, your enemy has no choice but to fight hand to hand with the Vampires. And then it matters a lot that they can heal themselves and are really tough. With nothing but elites on the table, the Necropolis can box the Archliches. Lich in the corner with the vampires adjacent and the Lamasu in front. The fact that the Lamasu and Vampires are really hard to get rid of and the liches hit harder than anything else in the game makes it all very one sided. The Necro player can just go ahead and buff the Liches, because the Glories can only remove enchantments from things they can melee.
