Visual C++ error

Hello everyone.

I am having a very annoying problem with my game : it's not starting up. When you click the play button, an error message appears and the game just doesn't start up.the error message is :

Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library

Runtime error!

Program: C:/Program files....

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

So I did that last part, but once the Ubi tech got through his list of quickfixes (that didn't work) he just went silent (ain't heard from him for about a week now). So I was just wondering if anyone else was having that error message, had any insight, or better yet if he knew a way around it. Cuz I'm stumped and really sad right now.

Double post but I just fixed it and I figure this'll be pertinent if anyone else ever gets this problem.

So what happens is the HoMM game installs a Visual C++ automatically when it installs itself. And It's not the most recent version, by 2 years. I had tried reinstalling Visual C++ AND the game, but that hadn't worked. What I JUST tried though is disinstalling everything and only installing HoMM6. So instead of having 2 versions of Visual C++ I only had HoMM's version. And that works. I have no idea how the problem initially happened though, cuz I sure didn't install Microsoft Visual C++, so I dunno how it got on my computer to mess things up in the beginning, but whatever. So that's one mystery solved, and now I can continue my let's play videos! (that I had to put on hold cuz of that.

I would also like to add that Ubisoft tech support was an incompetent A**hole. Just saying. In the end they were all "please contact your hardware manufacturer for more assistance", or in other words, "we don't know we don't care please annoy someone else". Cuz you'll note the lack of anything hardware-related in either the problem or the solution, so they weren't onto something, they just wanted to not have to deal with me or something.

Visual C++ Runtime can be installed by many programs, for example CD/DVD burning software. Visual C++ Runtime library can be for Visual C++ 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010, all of these are installed separately - some programs may need one of these and others - another.

Except nothing got installed between the moment it worked and the moment it didn't. Closed the game, went away (and it went sleep mode eventually) then I came back and it didn't work anymore. And I haven't had a problem with some other program I'm using that would be missing its' version of Visual C. How this happened remains a mystery, really, but it doesn't really matter in the end insofar as I can now fix it.
