As soon as I saw that Ad has posted here, a single thought crossed my mind: "oh ****...."
You have the softest interior of us all my friend, and that is a real gift, but your practically torturing yourself by constantly getting beaten down by frauds  .

Well to be honest Adrius, I knew for certain as soon as Mentat appeared. The style of writing was just a dead giveaway, not to mention as a girl, I recognise certain feminine traits that were absent. And in all fairness I did tell a few people my suspicions .. mainly Smithey and William. Smithey, like me had sussed it immediately. But for obvious reasons I couldn't go round and make my claims to everyone.

@Ivor: Constantly beaten down by frauds? Back the hell off.
Regardless of how many funny little quirks with suspected trolls I've had I would still take cancer serious as ****.
It doesn't compare in the slightest. Softest interior haha... give me a break.
@Meroe: I'm guessing it wasn't 100% obvious then. Well whatever, I don't blame you for not spreading your suspicions around... it's a sensitive matter.
There's no way to avoid someone getting burned in this type of scenario I guess.

Well Adrius, i guess you cant just blame someone until the real evidence comes out.
I known basically from the start as well.
Besides the clues I gave out, I cant just go out & blabber that he was full of crap until it was proven.
Like in real life.
No matter how right you are or how wrong the situation is.
Sometimes you just keep your mouth shut.
Soon this will go down in the Tribunal history & it will be looked at years from now.
Another episode in the history of HC that I have seen.....

I still think a Tribunal is in order, redemption is harder earned than death. Duke should be reinstated stripped of all priviledges and made to work his debt off, he was (in a way still is  ) a colourful chap and I bet this whole thing is gnawing him on the inside like any cancer would.

There is no paying off that kind of debt.
All in all I am glad the mods have gave us the free will to speak our minds in a tribunal to where this was a blow to some of us.

One easy lie led to another, so easy to fall. In the end lying is easy, maintaining it drains you of body and soul. You fall hard. He's just an unfortunate soul who has fallen prey to temptation (I shant condemn him till he provided a reason and thus be judged by that)

Like Tsar said. He made a lie, maybe for us to give him more attention, I dont know.
Then it just got worst & worst.
The lie got longer & bigger.
Then he just could not stop after.
He could not fight all the accusations & everyone just got too suspicious after.

I had mild suspicions myself, mostly due to Duke's melodramatic posting style through out the whole ordeal. I mean, sure it's tragic, but his lamentations seemed like they were taken from a Greek or Shakespearean tragedy.
It's kinda suspicious, y'know. I can know for certain what I would have done had I been diagnosed with cancer, but one of the last things I'd do would be reciting bad poetry as a farewell letter on an internet forum I've frequented.
Overall though, I did believe D_F was genuine (because nobody would be callous enough to make cancer jokes, right-? ow... oops.) so I just assumed he's a lost, ~melodramatic~ soul by nature.
This news was a surprise to me, but the signs were there.
