ERA 2.3 at box.com

Tested shortly TEW dialogs and start, everything worked well. This time it did not ask me to wogify at map load.

Is there any chance I could use the secondary skills mod in the form they worked for previous version, or is the era.dll which holds the changes? I would prefer a tweaked version only for TEW, where we could close dialog without reseting skills.

Thanks for update, great as always.

Sure. Make a copy of "era - secondary skills scrolling.erm" and delete the following lines:

Mod converting tutorial. The way I do it.
Is it too complex for mod makers?

For me yes, I am not comfortable with total commander, never used it. I am curious to see other feedback as well. Good video!

OK so where do I extract this? On WOG folder? Or ERA Pluggins folder? Do I delete all war machines in blacksmith.dll?

Yeah that's what I figured. I just want to know if the previous dll has to be deleted or not.

By the way, I tried my mod in this new version and it doesn't work... Once again txt files and my script are disregarded and thus the graphic changes are there, but the gameplay changes are not there. I don't know why.

Release 3.2, converting will be easy. There are several mods with much more resources/txt.files to convert -as Sagamosa-, and already working fine.

Well, I was refering to HoLv3.1 that Bersy converted for ERA and it's just that If there will be problems with every new version of ERA that would mean that a mod will have to be addjusted every single time. For instance I noticed that CPRSMALL.def and TWCRPORT.def are used by the main WOG pac and not the custom ones I've made for my mod. That means that every aspect of the mod has to be revisited and checked to see if it's ok...

As for HoLv3.2, I was hoping on a definitive version of ERA where there won't be any changes anymore and so to have a definitive version of mods as well. Just as WOG 3.58f was, that version lasted for years unchanged. It's not that I don't appreciate the hard work Bersy threw on ERA, it's just that it has to reach a stable and unaltered form in order to reach its full potential. Till then, I think the only secure way is the standalone version i am currently working on (which I know it works as it is).

Everything works the same. Checked. Don't forget to install New Objects Patch first.
In fact, backward compatibility is kept as far as it's possible.

You're right. I reinstalled it and it seems to work indeed. I don't know why it needed to be reinstalled in the first place but it seem to work now.

It's because Era is not intended to be installed on Era This is written in the first post.

I had same thoughts when working on TEW, but then I took a step back and remembered how much testing and fixes 3.58 needed until it was almost stable (actually it is much less than ERA). Every mod has different set ups, files and scripts, therefore it has to be tested separately until everything is fixed as a whole. People should not be shy and ask when something is not clear, more questions = more answers = better comprehension + practice.

Myself I don't think it is a big loss if x or y still hang on 3.58, it is their choice. I am only surprised when people do that without first having the curiosity to check and study what is the new structure and what enhancements it proposes over 3.58. It is less critical for simple mods or maps, but more complex is a mod, more unfriendly will be the install process over 3.58 and the further bugs fix.

Several months ago I had 10 Heroes folders containing 10 mods. All of them are now in one, and working. Before, when a bug occurred, I had to hex dig in saves and proceed to dangerous and time consuming manipulations. Now is a matter of seconds to fix on the fly, I am happy with, but that's me.

Some problem with "A Life of A-d-v-e-n-t-u-r-e" campaign.
Can't get out from cemetery haunted with ghouls, when I try to pass dungeon gate ERM error appears. I've never got it in 'clear' WOG, is it caused by ERA?
