"Peter doesn't forget what little Pete learnt"

We have that the other way round.^^
"What Johnny doesn't learn, John will never ever learn."

also, some more:
'Die Spatzen pfeifen es von den Dächern'
"the sparrows whistle it from the rooftops"

'Wer andern eine grube gräbt, fällt selbst hinein."
"Who buries a whoel for others, falls into it themselves"

'Es gibt nichts gutes, außer man tut es'
"There is nothing good, unless you do it."

'Jeder kehre vor der eigenen Tür, dann ist die ganze Straße sauber'
"Everybody sweep in front of their own door, then the whole street is clean."

'Der Teufel kackt immer auf den dicksten Haufen'
"Devil allways ****s on the fattest pile"

'Manchmal hat man kein Glück, und dann kommt auch noch Pech dazu'
"Sometimes you got no good luck, and then bad luck comes, too."
(sounds not so sensefull in english, in German it makes more sense, since "Glück"=luck and "Pech"=misfortune are rather different words)

'Hopfen und Malz, gott erhalts'
"Hop and malt, god preserve it" (from anything bad happening to it)

"Teher alatt nő a pálma"
"Palm trees grow best when a sizable weight is placed on top of them"

Wow, this sounds super weird in English! It roughly means that the more obstacles one has to face(/overcome), the better they turn out to be in the future, so the more obstacles overcome, the better their overall future effect on the person having overcome them, will be.

It still sounds super weird... I guess the more one tries to explain a joke, the less funny it becomes.

EDIT: Uncle Google's translation: "Load the palm to grow"
And that's why the world will forever need Hungarian interpreters/translators.

"One fool makes a hundred fools"

And/Or, not so literally:

Having one fool somewhere results in 99 additional fools appearing there in no time at all

Do sayings count as well? If so, voila:

"Házinyúlra nem lövünk"
"One doesn't shoot a pet rabbit"

"Nem a nyúl viszi a puskát"
"The rabbit isn't the one carrying the gun"

"A fagyi nem nyal vissza"
"Ice cream does not lick back"
