Master of Elements is my preferred, firstly because shrines, it saves a lot of traveling time, secondly because the double spells effect, it saves a lot of time in resurrect phase, thirdly because the double cast vs neutrals, it allows blowing full CB in one round, while the others will struggle with 24 000 cyclopes around, fourth because the SLOW spell, -4 to the regular effect.

When you will reach real hard battles, you will see the difference between resurrecting 100 archdevils or 200 in one cast. Or 6000 cyclopes with 3 speed instead of 7, thus you can't lure them.

But what would happen if you meet someone who is immuned to magic?!! Or at least Slow (even if they don't have they can still Dispel or Cure it), in this map it's not very hard to find those... Though I do agree with the Teleport Shrine and x 2 Resurrect....

As general rule, all level 7 and 8 are immune to 1-4 magic, as they should be. IMO there is no point of adding a bunch of archangels to AI if you can manipulate them with magic and skip the difficulty, slow, blind etc. But there is almost always one creature in each battle which will be affected by hypnotize so it gives you time to resurrect all at end.

I do all battles with calculator in hand, nothing is more annoying than casting spells to lower one stack until it can be hypnotized and then the last cast kills him entirely, thus you have to redo all battle.

Why not?

Here is another idea,that may be very useful and intriguing!

Not only in TDS,but here also we got numbers of creatures and abilities(spells or primary stats) that go beyond what Heroes is designed and tested for.

So as a humble suggestion from me-why dont you(as mapmaker)make possible that more than 8 heroes explore the XXL map?

We already got bigger that XL size,so why not more adventuring heroes?

I think I will not be the only grateful player,if you accomplish this in your map.

My point is,why to free heroes from prison just to send them into an inferno to stay there like in more luxurous prison?If they dont stay and develop,other heroes must stay inside!

When more heroes available,surely the meaning of "exploring" the map
will have hew enormous effect!

I wish to you that you could get help from others like Bersy or JimV to make this wonderful change!

I doubt they can do that, this is more a VCMI problem. I am not very favorable too, still. I like the restrictions of having only 8 and need to think which one to park at end of movement and use next. It was big part of strategy plans in Alexander the Great map, you were always short on heroes. But you are right, for big size maps, it could be increased by same percentage. Towns as well.

Finally launched it, balanced but very enjoyable . However, I must have screwed heroes. After defeating Damacon, there's one guy with Wisdom and the other with eart magic, but no one can cast effective Resurrection :/

Commodus is scripted to be offered earth on 4th level. All others can learn earth from huts around the towns, all magic schools in. However, if no wisdom proposed in leveling, restart, that's annoying for later. I always pick it when offered and should be always proposed, probably you declined offer.

Sorry for a really stupid question, but I get confused with using Era...
OK, I downloaded the map and ERA files.
1. Can I play this just under normal WOG?
2. If not, how exactly to install ERA? And on top of WHAT?
Please, guide me a bit, cause the last time I tried to install ERA, I got some weird errors (that I don't even remember).
So I just dropped it totally...

ERA is WoG, therefore has to be installed on SOD or Complete edition. Just find your heroes path and run self installer. Do same for map, voila.

So:
1. To use ERA, I must install it anew/separately from WOG?
2. Same for this map?
3. After running both EXEs, anything else I must do?
Cause the txt somewhere speaks about "using only these FOUR scripts" - is it automatic, or I must manually do it?
If I just try the map on my non-ERA WOG, will I get in trouble, like stuck or missing serious details?

Is it possible to make a list to check all of your CBs?!! There are so many CBs now so it's quite easy to me to miss some of them !!!

Replay and I've just realized that Logistic and Mysticism Bonus are swapped !!! So which one should I choose for MoE faction (though I already know that I should choose Logistic )?

Is it scripted that you can't get Master of Elements via Bonus Skills?!! Because I keep getting stupid one like Estate, Learning, First Aid, etc... It's a good thing that I know the swap skills trick from TDS !! And have you thought about giving them some little boost?!! I think the WoG Enhance for them is quite fine already....

Does Sorcery stacks addictively or multiplicatively with the MoE faction bonus dmg?! I mean MoE doubles your spell dmg (+100%) => 200%. So if you have Sorcery it will become 215% (200 + 15%) or 230% (200 x 1.15)?!

No, it is not possible to do a CB list, there are more than 300 inside. With time, every hero has assigned a specific area to clean (if you like order) therefore is not so hard to miss them, once you know the map design.

Mysticism/Logistic masters: each one asks other's death. If you kill logistic master, the other will grant you with 30% SP recovery every day. If vice versa, you will get movement points every day. It is obvious that mysticism master has to die.

What boost and to which skills? Skills means nothing in this map. You can boost every stat and spell as long as you can afford, this makes specialties like offense/armorer/sorcery look weak.

Spells get a boost if you are sorcery specialist, except mass spells

alisapa,you know you can have the combo,that restores all of your spell points,right?So misticism is unnessesary for MoE!
Maybe when you play MoS then you may think to get misticism,if no more wizards dell available.

In fact, it is not 100% granted you can get wizards well combo in this map, so I left the mysticism master just in case. Those 3 artefacts can be found only in derelict ships, and for example, in my current game, there is only one derelict ship among all which gives charm of mana every two weeks so I can have combo. Lucky.

I beat my previous record, by ending the map in less than 15 months with Wealth. Now trying same with Elements, but got reasoned by Wystan, so I am late by 1 month 1/2 than MW. There is no way to kill him before doing many upgrades, specially frenzy, even if we have morale each turn. He is a record killer.


For the note, all this bunch of devils can barely kill 40 titans on hit. With champion ability too.

Like Mysticism Skill, it gives some flat mana regeneration each day, which is so damn useless, so in WoG Enhance Option it has a boost which changed into regenerating x% of your mana, kinda like Master of Mysticism Bonus.

I remembered I have found Charm of Mana hidden somewhere... And in one of my game I had it by selecting the bonus artifact !!!


Anyway, my MoE play is having serious troubles against Aiji, well at least Resurrect gets doubled...
