If you want to play as initial state, ignore easy/hard options and just play. Selecting all hard options without playing the map at least once before will give you hard moments

But yes, is doable.

Map Updated

[+] Added sounds for several in-game important events, as CB's, Caves of Gods and Nodes re-spawn, special level up.
[+] Added 3 mini buttons to adventure map for easy search of not visited locations (that month)
[+] Replaced shoot close with fearless in abilities dialog
[+] Added special levels. The bio info will also show how much will cost for MoS to upgrade at royal stables (previously you had to visit to get the price)
[+] Possibles bonuses from special levels: every 50 battles: movement, every 100: stats, mithril, creatures or orb of fire.
[+] Replaced 2 objects with HoTA objects.
[+] Fixed market of time issue, which removed all 3 warfare skills
[+] Added Yona settings.ini
[+] Number of skills was increased to 18 (was 16)
[+] Witch huts now give the right skills before the right battles (ballistic, tactics)
[-] If any orb of fire in backpack or equipped, it will be deleted when entering the labyrinth because is part of the quest.
[-] The freelancer will send monsters to kill Cyra next day (previously they traveled for 3 days)
[-] Removed resurrect spell from a few AI heroes, caused freeze game bug.
[-] Added secondary skills scrolling erm empty file (not compatible with TEW)
[-] It is no more possible to train creatures during the 4 cavaliers quest (only for these specific heroes)
[-] The cost of Royal Stables movement upgraded was divided by 5, no reason to rip them off.
[-] The price of upgrading Pandora boxes was divided by 10, the cost was prohibitive.

What happened if your stats are already > 100?! Will it convert to other bonuses like Caves of Gods? Also higher levels = better bonus (more Mithrils and Creatures) right?!

I hope this only applies to Commodus but not Secondary Heroes .

1) The stats bonus is the only one not depending on level because it could cause trouble later. If the random stat is more than 120, it converts to something else. The other bonuses increase with level.

2) Only Commodus can enter the labyrinth.

3) Pandora: the cost vs benefit wasn't worth.

Hope you remove the sell options for some artifacts in the market, because my Statue of Legions and a combo part suddenly disappear in my inventory, so I assume that I accidently sold them while being sleepy or clicking so fast. Thank god I have a save because or else I have to replay the entire game for such a silly thing...

Bah, just pay a little attention, the list could be very long. Normally you have to move artefacts in visible backpack, so you see them clearly before initiating trade. I made an exclusion list for those required by quests, but statue of legion is not, I hope it payed you well for.

I remember Master Learn has found an even better spot, where there is a place that completely cover Arch Devil leaving only one open tile, which is impossible to attack if the invaders armies only have 2-hex units, that or AD is only attacked with 1 stack at best..

Also I have only learned the gate blocking trick after playing TEW III, most battles really become much easier, no wonder how can Tev finish the map so fast. AI rarely uses Teleport even if they had them. Gate blocking + Clone block + Efreets Resurrect block = GG.

Well, I am trying now MoS, ok I am a bit rusty and lazy but no way to get it fast because several battles require many upgrades, as Wystan, Aine and the guy with 14k cyclops.

There is enormous difficulty difference between MoW or MoD and the two others. MoS is really hard for me too. If I choose to not hang around, that's it. The block gate is not efficient in most of battles, I had to find by errors and trials the flaws in AI code, if you do specific actions, it goes from super aggressive to lazy suicidal.

Well there are several battles that gate blocking works wonder. Rissa instantly comes into my mind (full Titans army). Usually I try mass Clone to block and prevent Titans from shooting, but if I do that Titans will leave the castle instantly and change into melee mode.

And yeah sometime AI works really differently, for example I use Curse in their ranged stacks, with Sphere of Permanence so that they can't cast Dispel. A few turns later they immediately charge outside while their ranged stacks are still very strong.

I am working on new update, probably final one. After testing I decided to give following bonuses every 50 battles, to increase the interest of using secondary heroes.

Random between:

a) permanent movement increase by 5 tiles
b) Devils joiners  (=hero level)
c) Orb of fire
d) Stats increase
e) A new secondary skill (ignores hidden skills limit so you can get them all)
f) Mithril (hero level*10)

If the random stat is already >120, bonus will be converted in movement points. If the hero already has orb of fire equipped or in backpack, the random seed will be processed again and exclude orb value. If hero has already all secondary skills available the bonus will be converted in mithril.

The random seed is set once/week, so to change it one must reload day 7.

I also included a custom HCTRAITS.txt where skills like first aid, diplo, necro, eagle eye and magic resistance were given zero chance to appear. Magic resistance is now only allowed to rangers, so main hero can use it.

^Orb of Fire won't be of any use before Piquedram, who is about half of game already. Even Orb of the Firnament could be nicer before that

Orb of fire can save you a few hundred of millions spent on upgrades. The chances to get it are low so earlier you get better is IMO.

Orb of Silt is also very powerful, 50% Resurrection Power which can't be purchased by any means later (with MoE you can even out resurrection enemies sometime), and of course dem 1m5 damage Implosions are no jokes either.

So I have just got a stats bonus after 100 battles, and the bonus is... 5 Knowledge, which is just terrible compared to other bonuses, should have known and try reload a bit .

Also can you replace Caster: Slow with Caster: Dispel Helpful Spell?! I'm sure it will become top pick (can reduce % cast a bit), want to dispel their Shield spell so bad but can't because it will dispel other things like Forgetfulness .

Btw how many Cornucopias can you have after killing Wystan?! Just in case if I have missed something here, haven't played the map for a long time and kinda lazy to check all the huts.

Orb of silt does not affect resurrect. Only damage spells are affected by orbs.

I am still working on it. Both bonuses will be given after every 50 battles. The fact that the random value stays one week same may require quick decisions, if you see the bonus is mithril you may want to complete the 50 with other heroes as well before it changes.

I modified cave of gods, the random rewards were weird. Now it gives only resources until you complete all spells upgrades, then give devils. 1-1-1-1 possible bonus stats did not match with 4000x7 resources and was frustrating. As for creatures now it gives only hero level *3 devils, no more effrets or whatever we don't need.

You say we don't need familiars from Cave of Gods?

We don't need devils,we need demons.

And you can't complete all spell upgrades,because armagedon now is upgraded infinitely.

No, I mean until you upgraded all spell bonuses--> cast twice, that's it. Once is done, you don't need anymore resources bonus, it will give creatures. In last test I completely ran out of luck and got only poor stats from all caves, so I battle Wystan and I didn't even upgraded to sea movement, bummer.

Love the Cave of Gods change, mostly because I have just received a 27 Sharps reward from a CoG !!

I still think that MoS needs some soft buffs, Serena even with full ranger stacks still charges outside and kills me instantly, probably because I'm too weak. Sure I can wait a few weeks but it's quite frustrating because by doing this when you have finished all the CBs all of speed upgrade from Stable is pretty much wasted, while it is supposed to give you some advantages compared to other factions (don't really care much about the score). TEW III can be finished asap because the supply troops from quest or places (like Maximus Home area) allow you to have a healthy army to fight at any points of time.

Hi Salamandre

I played this map a year ago, but have been busy building my house in the meantime.
Now i want to try agin, but since i´ve cleaned my pc, i had to reinstall Era II and TEW IV.
The new update you posted a week ago doesn´t work for me.
It starts up alright, but theres no scripts or messages ingame, so all i can do is wait in the prison for 2 turns and then get beaten by my pursuer coming out of the one way portal.

Any idea why?
