Master of elements is so strong in magic that no enemy hero can cast dispel. But still can cast cure, so use blind as improved hypnotize when there is one big stack left.

Master of elements can cast twice in any battle from start, which will surely tweak a lot the early/middle game hard battles.
Once he upgrades fire bonus, he can get for free scrolls of blind in devil's camp, once a day.

Each time he casts blind in battle, one scroll is removed (from 5 maximum in miscellaneous slots). If there is no scroll left, blind is removed from spell book.

Blind is now level 5 and mind immunity flag was removed, which means you can blind any creature in the game (including titans) except those immune to level 5, as dragons, enchanters and sorceresses and those immune to fire spells, as sylvain centaurs. Yet some have magic mirror enhancement, so you will probably blind yourself.

Now I have to find possible exploits and ban them.


So basically Sphere of Permanence right at the start? Cool. But does every Hero has cure or only some certain ones?

Having to take spell scrolls every day is a pain in the ass though, hope there is the option where the lost scrolls automatically return after battles. Also this means that we can blind Undead or non living things/elementals right? Right?

Just park a level 1 hero in devil's camp (there is one prison near) and he will get 30 scrolls/month. As you can use max of 5/battle but then you can't wear any artefact in the miscellaneous slots I think it is enough. I don't know about undead and elementals, I test now. If I see not enough scrolls, I raise the number given on visit.

I just took the third inferno town with only 5 sharps lost. Being able to cast twice/round mass cure is good.

No sphere of permanence effect, all AI simply lose the dispel spell. If you cast it, it will affect your creatures.

In other words,the artifact that gives immunity to dispel becomes just part of the combo for MoE.

Imagining battlefield covered in quicksand with AI unable to dispel bring warm feelings to my heart!

Well I hope this "AI doesn't have Dispel, but Cure instead" doesn't change the gameplay much when you have the Sphere of Permanence. Usually if AI only has Dispel, SoP not only makes our creatures immune to Dispel, but AI will never cast Dispel also (they also never cast Cure). So if I cast Curse and is wearing SoP, the Curse will last until the end of the battle and AI will never try to Dispel it. This is really important in some battles for me. Now even when we have SoP they can just cast Mass Cure anyway.

IIRC in TEW III there is a fight that requires this strategy, the fight against someone who has 7 stacks of 9999 Upgr Cyclops or something, if you doesn't have SoP he will Dispel your Forgetfulness instantly, and you know what will happen then.

Speaking of simple changes who bring new problems: all heroes in master of elements get a emissary of mana when freed from prison. Sounds nice, but this manually added emissary does not give bonuses, as the one from citadel is hardcoded. Had to make new script giving weekly bonuses if emissary in, then disable regular icon clicking then replace by own text.

Anyway, this is the last bonus added to MOE, then also I added an interesting bonus to master of devils (as they had none): be able to choose type of reward from special levels (mithril, creatures, movement, orb of fire, stats or new skill). This will make the faction really easy and pleasant.

Now playing with Masters of Elements, moving faster than last time, mostly thanks to new bonuses from battles. Zydar beaten M7W4D7.

I figured out an average hero can clean Arena with only single AD, maxed Slow and Bless. The issue is it takes half an hour and there is no reason not to do it every turn, maybe except the extreme boredom.

So, you added bonuses to strong factions, but not to MoS? Masters of Speed have pretty much no offensive ability that could help them in battle and everything they can do is available to other faction by new bonuses. Oh, in my game Commodus got 3x speed for first 150 battles which allows me to take two towns in one week easily.

Another thought: I have NO idea how can you play 200% with any other faction but MoW. There are no resources to keep things spinning at the very first week of game, unless I'm missing something?

I want MOS to be the most challenging, but after test it comes that when well played, is the most fun, because you move really far away and can do x5 more things than other factions. It has 2 bonuses, movement bonus added by special levels is doubled, and speed cost upgrades are halved.

With MOS-MOE is not difficult to get things working in first 2 months, but requires some sacrifices, as not converting devils dwellings, get the mercury stack on day 6-7, get the imps cache on day 13 and so on. And of course attack the utopias on 1/3/1, using 5 familiars as fodder, you will lose nothing.

Well if you want to increase the Speed power of MoS even more, makes every Hero of the faction be able to have Admiral Hat's ability right at the start without the need of it (AH now change into something else for them, some are still needed for quest though), or merge Navigation + Logistic + Path finding into one ultimate skill or something.

Still hope that the MoE change doesn't affect the special feature of Sphere of Permanence much. Anyway how does things go when you have Blind now Sal?!

I found out that MoS has enough advantages and I still want to be the hardest faction. I am testing MOE and I am only at Ajit, will take a few days, even with turbo mod, without I can't even open the game.

Too much speed can be a bad thing in some situations. Imagine every MoS Hero of you receives bonus movement (+10 tiles?) for every Special Level of their, each has Admiral Hat + Stable Bonus + Boot of Speed already and Water movement bonus, give them a week and maybe a half and they can do almost every possible things on the to-do-list. In the remaining day the only thing they can do is just sitting duck because there is nothing left to do. So if there is a buff for MoS that I need, that there is something to sacrifice your movement to get, even if the trade bonus is tiny I think I can still live with it, better than just stand there and end the day.

Warwick, I remember I searched for suitable designs over one month or so, then found those somewhere. Now that you bring it to my attention, I realize I should have put designer name in credits, but was stressed with the scripts and alisapa asking for miracles

I will try to address this issue.

@Alisapa, you forget that MOS receive 5 times more special bonuses than all other factions because it moves more, it fights more. I already specified in readme.txt that bonus is set for one week, so IF indeed someone is so unlucky that he always receive movement bonus, then wait a week before completing the bonus with the heros near 50 battles. It happened to me once, then got 2000 mithril in one week.


New feature: split troops. No more weird splitting when you pass from utopia to cyclops cave (4 to 5) or when you need to split your 30 genies in 5 stacks.

Not anymore, I hear you. MoS now gets a new permanent bonus, which is dependent on each hero speed. For every creature bank defeated THAT DAY by SAME hero, one bar of mithril is added to reward and is cumulative (ex for 10 CB defeated month 5, instead of 50 mithril you get 5+6+7+etc = 110 mithril.) Next day it resets to normal, then you go again. It is not cumulative between heroes, each has his unique index and starts from normal.

This ability is ignored if derelict ship or shipwreck (sorry guys, unlimited movement on water).

Yet I need to test it once, to see if you are not crushed under loads of mithril, and if so, I will limit it to CB's on land only.

I can upload it if you want, is ready. MOE goes too well, actually I am faster with it than with MOS ancient version. Month 6 killed Piquedram, not a single demon farmed yet.

Added swap troops, split troops, resolve battle mods, so now battles go very fast.

Well if you are afraid about the map not being all completed you can upload the test version here and wait until it is fully tested and release it on maps4heroes.

If you move at such speed then I assume that you haven't got Blind yet? I already know how to expect the difference between having Double Cast at start and not, but not for Blind since it has never existed in TEW IV, or how will the Dispel change affects Sphere of Permanence.

This has all the changes for Moe, Mos and Mod. Info about split troops you get first time you open hero screen. However for Moe, the devil's camp still give 1 blind scroll/day because I did not reach that area yet, maybe I will change it to 5 or 10 to save travel time. Readme.txt was not updated about game changes, no time. I don't think I add any bonus for Mow, it is already so powerful, you do nothing, resources come from thin air, every hero is a improved cornucopia.

Oh, and cast slow was replaced by cast poison in army dialog.
