Well there is a potential of 700 mithil in one day with that hero.

Maybe , in order to take the best decision, for the sake of factions balance, should have an analysis on how much mithril get the other factions per / 2 weeks, if played perfectly, related to the amount of banks available, daily mithril income , artifact selling, side quests.

I know that would be hell to do such a calculation by someone who analyzes this data by looking into editor, but considering how many times you ppl played this map should have an idea by now on this numbers. and adjust this + 1 bonus accordingly.

an easier solution, maybe caping the amount possible to get / day for MoS

The problem is that AI armies are fixed, not growing in numbers as in most maps. They grow in stats to simulate more numbers but MoS will fight same amount of creatures, no matter if he is there 5 months earlier. Thus it needs a boost, as battles are not so cheatable as in sod, force field/blind game over. I think I will leave MoS as it is, and if I get reports as really too easy (I doubt but who knows) I will fix a cap at month + 15 eg month 5 you get up to 20 max.

It's hard to balance a map if you change it three times every day . Balancing is when you find ONE thing that is wrong and fix it. You should not change eveyrthing all the time as it's untestable.

Okay, but you're already after Bron. Last time I fought him about month 10 as MoE and had similiar forces compared to enemy. At that point Caves are already a walk in a park. But first 2 months could be very difficult or even impossible if unlucky.

@Ovidi,thanks for providing the screen,but you wrote the month too and now Sal will put 10 times more creatures,making Caves impossible to fight and one very significant resource of familiars/devils will be lost.

Maybe you should remove either the screen with month or the screen with stats and numbers.

No, I will leave them as they are. The purpose of caves was also psychological, as Pasis (with his only 3 supremes he kicks your butt early), to show at start how awesome are those 8th level monsters but also later to give hints about player progress, becoming easier and easier. With AI heroes having same monsters in army, I don't feel the need to increase the caves difficulty, also given that monsters inside are very unbalanced and could seriously penalize the player for many months (if you get only supreme archangels for 4 months you won't win if much more of them)

I am testing whole map with all the changes, you see I only release erm update, not new version. I won't give out final until I am not satisfied with balance. So far it looks okay, if you don't abuse the reload, which I don't. Now for each player to choose his way

So just noticed that Cave of Gods bonus also scale by days. For example a Cave of God re-spawn on Week 2 Day 7 of the month, if I fight it instantly I get 420 Resources per type, if I wait until next week I get 450 Resources and even more if I can wait further. So I learn that unless it is emergency and you need resources ASAP, try to fight them on (possibly to take the whole 5 in one day with MoE shrines) Day 6 of Week 2.

Game over with MoW. Had crashes in labyrinth when we pick treasures chests. The only explanation is that maximum objects is reached, and removing this or that will not change as the memory is overloaded already. I removed them from editor-so I guess now AI will not move and will wait you to attack, this is annoying issue but what to do-, now going to test with MoE the imps crucibles issue, then unless some lethal bug, I am done.

Rebirths were caped to 4. Movement points is capped to 75 000, this is what you need to do the labyrinth in one day. Shipwrecks return to normal. A few armies increased, others decreased. With the new growth, any hero fighting in arena will need tactics to generate clones first round, but getting the skill is easy, near Gerwulf town.

It is risky, as the message saying they respawned comes a bit later than it really happens, this was a fix for first version to avoid players reloading, which I did not changed.

Note: be careful when moving large stacks of demons (32k+) between heroes or from garrison to hero/vice versa, they will vanish. Use the slide bar or the swap troops button between heroes, as this button deletes them then add again, so there is no risk.

After moving them, they will lose all experience, right-click on stack to restore (you can also cheat in this way and give them experience without paying (works only for demons), but there is no other fix before VCMI is out)

I let them part of the MoS bonus: every creature bank you visit same day with same hero will give +1 mithril and cumulates with previous. Which gives some advantages if you move more, so the bonus giving +10 tiles could pay more than the mithril one in long term. I think you have v3 map, too many lighthouses, removed some for v4. Also a few changes in witch huts (ballistic near first town) but nothing important.

No, you weren't lucky, first bonus is always mithril.

Playing MoE now, twice got blood dragons in caves, month 3 and already took them twice.

I am now asking myself if all the problems with objects I had is not due to the fact that I copy/pasted the Maximus home area from TEW II. Is a big area, and not sure the objects internal ID are updated when you paste 2000 at once. At that moment, I didn't think of. Well, too late now.

Funny maths:



By the end of the game, our heroes will fight 2600+ battles. If one still plays with the battle introduction music (I read some are asking it to be back in era), which takes 5 seconds before you get to move, this means you lost 3 hours when listening this music.

For those asking more strength for MoD-tsss-. Screen shows I received 50 bonuses. Now imagine MoD which is picking the bonus as he likes, on a base of 400 mithril each (which is less than will have), this would mean 20k mithril for MoD only from levels bonuses during the whole game.
I tested upgrades, and with 20k mithril we can full upgrade devils and demons + all abilities.

Well it can be actually a lot more because of reloading (like you accidently screw up a battle for your last Hero and have to reload the entire day lulz), so yeah, I even have to disable Sound Effect (Morale sound, Luck sound, Death Blow sound, etc) because they also take quite some time.

And have zero other bonus. If each Hero get Devil for every bonus (at least 50 each) he will get 2500 more Barons (can still get Mithrils to upgrade stuffs from banks), 10 All Stats = 100 Barons when traded at Magic Shop later, 10 tiles of movement can be more valuable for MoW or other factions depend on the situations. Yes it may help you to avoid the Secondary Skills bonus, but this only comes once. And of course the forbidden trick a.k.a Reload (okay okay I know that you don't encourage to use this method).

And whoops I have 4 stars now.

Also, I still have abilities like charge and haste enchanted in training window.

Haste Enchanted is still there (though I personally switch it with Shield Enchanted in my game), but Charge should be replaced by Bless Enchanted now.

Yes you have script but still old graphics, need pac.

AI has special patterns you can exploit. In my fights, I attack him with devils, efreets and sharps, he keeps casting blind or slow for the whole fight, which I invalidate with cure. Never got him to cast implosion, would be interesting to know what you do differently to have him cast it.

thinking of special levelups..

can you have the variables that influence the bonuses be rolled upon map start? like when starting the map those will be randomized for every 50 battles for 1000 battles. So no more reload issues.

I tried to control myself the levelups when Xyron spawned, just that I wasn't lucky - is to tempting especially at early stages of the game when you feel so week

I would need a different variable for each week and I can't know how long one keeps playing, so I would need to store 4 vars/month*24 just in case. This means almost 100 vars to set at start only for special levels...
