Heroes V Graphics Overhaul

This mod aims to reskin all of Heroes V graphics, to make the Heroes experience much more visually appealing and immersive.
In order to do this I use a custom texture sharpening method of my own, along with lighting, contrast, saturation and others.
Feel free to post your opinions, requests or contribution.

Demo 1 Link
Changes:
- Reskin of all Inferno creatures.
- Reskin of all Stronghold creatures.
- Reskin of all Renegades (Haven alternative upgrades).
- Reskinned Titan to a black version, similar to Heroes 2.
- Reskinned resources, treasure chests, terrains and some buildings.

- Xuxo for some of the unmodded textures I used, like terrains etc.
- The creators of HOMM for making such a great game.

The Seraph looks amazing, it and the Griffin are perfected.

The Zealot is just amusing, Glaring at the "Giant metal hand in the sky" (Warcraft 3 quote). I like it.

Some of these are excellent! I think the contrast on the Inquisitor is too high, some parts are improved, but others don't look better (whites on robe arms are too white, red on colar too red, looks oversaturated), so his changes are a bit hit-and-miss to me. Same goes for the Marksman, his red on the robe is too bright, and the face also.

I think the Brute is actually the best one. Really amazing changes there, and the colours on his clothes are much less saturated than several of the others which looks superb. All of the others have the "red" issue, at least on my screen.

Yes I exaggerated with them a bit on first version, fixed them:

I'd like to redo the other factions too but Nival apparently spread the textures all over the paks and I cba to hide&seek.

If anyone would be so kind to point me to where the other creature textures are I can remake them as well.

Today I went through reskinning again and I've improved all the orcs, both unupgraded and their 2 upgrades.
Very good results, even though Orcs are the faction with better graphics (prolly because they were made last?), next I'll be doing Academy.

Only goblin screenshots, the rest I'll upload later as I fear girlfriend will call soon.

I've also changed wood and treasure chests (unmodded texture from xuxo):

It's very possible to make H5 look H6-ish, for those who want to play a GOOD heroes game without the limitations of H6...
H5 modding forums seem pretty dead tho :/ Too bad...

Great job. If you want I can teach you to do them as I do but you would have to know how to use 3dsmax or a similar program. There are aspects muxos d lighting, bump, and other effects that are impossible to achieve accurately in a flat image. I exported all in 3D, I apply the effects and then exported the texture "result". is more complicated but more effective.

All this also use PhotoZoom Pro 4, which increases the resolution of the images without losing quality practically nothing.

I really did not feel that neither haven, neither orcs really needed new textures. pink undeads on the other hand...

I already changed some

Deffinitely much better! I might even go as far as to turn down the saturation and brightnes a bit to achieve the more "dusty" look from the Brute (which I think is really outstanding).

I'm down for learning your method if you have time!
Been a few years since I used 3DS so I need to undust my memory a bit.

Well Haven faction textures are all very saturated and bright by default, it's no simple job to give them a more realistic feel.
Same goes for Inferno's first upgrades.
Textures from ToTE are much sharper and detailed by default than pre-ToTE ones, less blurry and they got better bumps/shadowing.
My goal is making all textures as detailed as the orcs' ones.

Today I'll give Inferno a try.

Inferno is coming out very epic.
Just look at the difference!

At this rate, I think I'm gonna pull off a graphic overhaul mod in a few weeks.

I wonder why they didn't sharpen their textures themselves, the devs I mean.
They're all so blurred

Still asking help for the locations of the files btw.
It's been years since I last modded this and I get very bored to play hide&seek with files...
Hope I can find some support from you guys for this problem.

Blackies!

Can a mod please change the title to Heroes V Graphics Overhaul?
I decided to make a full graphical mod rather than just mod one faction.

Thank ye!

It all happened quite coincidentially; this tool I use for textures was a thing I made when I used to make steel/reflexive skins for forums.
Fortunately Heroes creatures all contain some metal or have a reflexive skin like the black dragons, so it turns out epic.
The battles aren't the same, even from high distance the creatures look completely different: Inferno is as scary as it could ever be.
Shouldn't take too much to get this all done it takes me more to find the files themselves than mod them.

Once I'm done with creatures I'll just need to know where the textures for default heroes and castles are stored so I can improve them as well.

More feedbacks and testers would be welcome

More stuff done, Necro is finished and so is Sylvan.
What's left in regards of creatures is unupgraded/1st upgrade Haven, some Academy and some Dungeon.
Then it'll be on castles and all map buildings.

More screens:

Thanks! I love black Titan too, blue one wasn't as scary as Titans should be

I've just finished Necro and Academy, just need to do 1st upgrade Haven and I'm done with all creatures.

Then I'll make buildings/castles and release

Once I'm done with all the creatures I'll do a before-and-after thing but the problem is that H5 saves shots as TGA files which need to be converted to PNG (takes a while to do the whole).

Btw you can already check the default creatures here and compare them with my shots.

Is it possible for Emerald Dragon to have dark-green skin, like an emerald?

While Crystal Dragon have more brilliant-white skin like a diamond? At present, these two don't have too much differences.

Edit : and will this mod include Xuxo's alternative terrain graphic? If yes, I'd be estatic
