The game's on Steam Greenlight right now. I'd recommend to "like" it if you want to see it there.

Sounds decent. I don't have a Steam account and I'm not interested in a digital copy anyway but I may create one if this will increase the game's popularity.

Yeah, I'm sure the game still needs some more recognition so thanks for that.

Thanks for keeping us informed Dariol.

That video doesn't really reveal anything extra for someone like me, but it will impress those unfamiliar with the genre/MoM, especially the huge effort made on how it feels/looks in adventure/battle maps & the graphics (game cover could be better to entice the less-informed gamer too but I'm sure many know that).

I don't know if you are connected to the devs but easier to understand English narration & better resolution to see those texts would be improvements to that video.

Anyway, I read on http://www.snowbirdgames.com/eador/faq/?lang=en that it can be purchased on Steam.  Making the release in 2nd half of Nov just in time for Christmas would be a good way to make an impression.

I've picked up Genesis and so far, I'm not very good at it.  I've restarted countless times and can never seem to make any lasting progress.  My latest run is with a wizard and so far, I might make some decent headway with him.

Despite being bad at it, I enjoy the game.  It's deep and quite challenging.  It can be fairly unforgiving too.  Like when you have a dragon cave in your starting province and get attacked constantly.

The sequel (or remake) just got Greenlit by Steam.

I am greatly looking forward to the release of the new game.  I've finally been able to succeed in the original title (by playing on Beginner...) and really enjoy it.

Eador: Masters of the Broken World is a sequel to Eador: Genesis, the latter being 2D, few animations, lots of text and pretty addictive. And hard. That's what he's referring to.
I too had to swallow my pride and start on Beginner. Took me a while to conquer my first shard (not the tutorial) but that's a fact now. The game is not overly complex but it's deeper than it initially seems. It's nobody's clone too - it has enough unique features to stand on its own. I'm certainly looking forward to the Masters.

I read the news, watched the youtube videos etc, but still confuse about gameplay maybe someone here can shed a light on the gameplay of Eador?

1) I enter the astral screen to see the shards and other players.
2) I attack a shard. The screen goes to stategic screen.
3) The shard is consisted of many provinces, each with their own city screen. Using Heroes' term, province = city.
Here I start to lose myself. Is this correct? If yes, then there will be (num of shards) x (num of provinces per shard) = ???
How many provinces are in one game? How Long the game will be?

I can only talk about Genesis but the basics will most likely be the same in Masters.

1. The "astral" screen is where you choose which shard to attack and where you'll probably talk to the other major entities. Each shard provides specific bonuses and unlocks extra buildings, upgrades, etc. so it's not just a matter of attacking the most sexy-looking one. Also, you are able to pick some bonuses (within limits) before you start the invasion.

2. Once on the shard, you have your regular strategic map divided into provinces. You have a capital where you build your main structures + several types of provinces - plains, hills, forests, bogs (there could be more, these are the ones that I've seen so far) - each of which can have some regular structures and has at least one structure which can't be built anywhere else. Logistics-wise they are also different - forests for example are harder to cross than plains. Also, most provinces have neutral settlements inhabited and usually defended by one of the races in the game. As a general rule, each province can be conquered or bought from its defenders (for a pretty painful price, usually). Once owned, each province can be explored for hidden locations, upgraded with extra buildings and so on (+ it generates income of course). There are also special resources and other nice things.

3. Your goal is to capture the enemy capital. There could be multiple pretenders on one shard so respectively more than one capital to conquer. Losing your capitol to the opponents kicks you out of the shard. Simple concept but very nicely executed.
The number of the provinces depend on the size of the shard. A typical small shard will probably have some 30-40 provinces but in my experience they are enough to keep you occupied for some 6-7 hours (on the lowest difficulty...). You start with conquering the smaller shards, then you move to the bigger ones where you meet more powerful opponents.
How long does it take? Well... LONG. Isn't it great?
