AI: What would you like to be fixed/improved?

Title says it! What don't you like at AI, what would make it better?

Battle AI:

- 2 stack of Ghosts are just sitting ducks for 3 turns. They just stay there and try to heal each-other. Make them charge and try to make one stack do some damage and bomb heal with the other one.

- Dream-walkers never, ever use sky & Earth on enemies.
- Many times Upgraded Griffins just do not dive.
- Earth Elementals never touch your archers. (This apart from the stupid spell not dealing any damage )
- Ghouls tend to open the door (turn 1), and keep it open without even attacking anything.
- I have never seen AI using a goblin trap.

Adventure AI:

- Do not "produce" creatures out of thin air. It is cheap to see AI's army multiply. Makes you feel like fighting windmills.
- AI does not care about resources

Campaign AI:

- If AI has some "Priorities" sometimes they completely ignore you.
- AI seems not to notice Secondary Heroes in their range.
- AI does not build even the most elementary buildings although he has the resources to do it. (maybe adventure AI?)

When I will remember/encounter more I will post again.

This one time, which I have as a video on my channel (where you are welcome to go see it for yourself), I had a 1 HP griffin tie down a horde of skeletons for several turns (several in heroes terms of course). Fun as it had been, it was rather silly of him. The skeletons were the only thing remaining for the necros, while I just had some archers and a few sentinels left (aside from the 1hp griffin of course). If the skeletons had attacked the griffins then the skellies woulda been shooting the whole time and it woulda hurt a lot more.

Yup that is pretty stupid, and that most likely comes from the crippling "fear" archers have to mele hit blocking units.

But plese nex time use the "start at minute" feature, it was a long fight .

30+ minutes video!? No, thanks!
Care to explain in text, what do you mean "tie down", how did that happen?

oops sorry. yeah maybe I should've done that. I just remembered that the fight was the first thing I did, did not remember how long it was though.

That's not all that happened in the video, though the battle takes a good portion of it.

EDIT I've tried what KRS was talking about but I've no idea how to do so and I didn't manage to figure it out Thx KRS. So for now I'll just say, the battle starts at around the 1 minute mark, while my griffins move forward a little before the 16 minute mark (if you don't want to watch the entire slugfest). And for statistics' sake, the fight ends at the 21 minute mark. yeah 20 minutes long fight. That's the first fight against Djordje in the second mission of the Haven campaign, on hard.
Which btw, is it supposed to be this hard, or am I doing something wrong? I bet I don't have the ultimate best set of hero abilities, but still... anyways, enough derailing. All this to say, and show, that the AI's reaction to archers being tied down has issues.

On a Youtube video page you click the share button. You will be presented with a link and under the link there is a dropdown box. Click that and inside you will find the "Start At" feature. Copy the link and paste it here on the forums .

What i find boring at the uttermost point with MMH6's AI ?

IT CONSTANTLY AVOIDS HUMAN PLAYER, unless encounter is deadly. And even if you manage to get in a fight (with threat "very high"), it flees after a few turns... For the fight thing though, I guess it is because you keep 75% of your amry when you flee, another change that I fully disagree with.

Players want battles to be epic as ****, or is it just me ?

This needs more detail to truly answer to, but in a "few" turns you can actually do quite a lot to destroy the ennemy. So maybe he's right to give up or something. TBH I haven't had that problem much.

As for battles being epic, I'm pretty sure that's what they were shooting for with a lot of their changes, so yes, that's what they want. Doesn't mean the computer needs to go berserk, buying time can be a legit strat (dunno how well it can work in this particular game). Maybe it's aware of it's dumbness and wants a really favorable draw. Also, this may not be common knowledge, but when I was doing my video where I was "controlling" both sides one thing I noticed is that both sides saw the other army as a severe threat (or some such threat, don't remember the exact threat that it was, just that both saw the other as a high threat). So just to say, because you see him as a very high threat does not mean you look trivial to him, on the contrary.

@Simpelicity : i didn't play the game for some time now, so maybe there has been some improvments (which i doubt according to the news on official forum), but am i the only one getting the impression of being a cat chasing a mouse when i'm playing offline ? Playing 2hrs of H6 and then go back to H3 or even H5 makes the hell of a difference, in every single point. AI is way more agressive in previous opuses and you get attacked pretty fast, mines capturing also were challenging in an early game.

What i am trying to say is : couldn't the AI be more entertaining than realistic ?
Maybe this is a big fantasy of mine, or maybe i don't quite understand, but you should be able to figure out what i'm trying to say here.
