Nothing will top the eighties for me imo. They are definitely my favorite Eurovision decade. Present day eurovision is completely different, but it doesn't bother me. Again, Eurovision 2005 is BY FAR the best edition ever imho. The only real dud that did well was Latvia.

I find it funny that you say that when evidently, the UK almost NEVER succeeds in sending any decent songs. =)

I know right?

That sounds more like mandung to me, amirite?

I like Engelbert, but there's so way it'll do well. Competition simply is TOO good this year.

At the end of the day, it's all a matter of opinion. England haven't done anything bad, imo, they just haven't been as good as others. I don't like any of the music they have done for the past few years but it's not bad, it's just not as good as anything else that is being released.

Engleburt won't do well because countries have a tendency not tovote for England, even if it is a decent song. That's been that way for years. Also, peoplewill judge on looks and whether it's catchy. Not that Catchy is necessarily good, but people these days don't want anything too different whichis s**t.

That last paragraph is incorrect, William. Jade Ewen placed 5th. Jessica Garlick placed joint third. Both of those years televoting was used, both of those years they yielded big results for the UK. In addition those two ARE the only good songs the UK has sent in the past 10 years.

Engelbert I feel would do well in pretty much every other contest in the past few years except maybe Eurovision 2010 and 2005, which were rly good editions. This year, he won't do well. I expect a TOP 20 finish, but not better. I think he's going to finish 17th, after the top 15 I posted earlier + Turkey.

it's been s**t for the past few years. Eurovision never used to have as many bad, jokey songs as it does now. It's a shadow of the fine competition it once used to be and that's a real shame.

Commonwealth solidarity is a beautiful thing. The problem is that the Brits never colonized much of Europe but I suggest independence for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland so you guys can get free votes too and stop being jelly of ex-Yugoslavia and the Soviet bloc.

Wellllll it would seem Scotland is on the brink of declaring independance in a few years, so in all likelyhood the UK should be getting some points in Eurovision... but prolly Scotland will be earning even MORE points, meaning we might have Eurovision 2014 being hosted in Edinburgh.

When our english teacher showed us the UK entry this year, we all thought it was a joke lol.

But the song is ok.

Also I don't believe in the horrible soviet bloc voting thing. That idea kinda falls apart when countries such as Norway wins or Sweden gets third place (hmm... when was the last time the UK had a top 10 entry?).

But many of the eastern european songs that have won like Molitva and Believe were great.

There's no such thing as a Soviet Voting Bloc. Half Televoting, Half Jury for the point tally took care of that. Evenso, Slavic and Scandinavian entries usually ARE better than western-European entries anyway.

2. Greece.
3. Romania.
4. Cyprus.
5. Denmark.
6. Russia.
7. Ireland.
8. Hungary.
9. Latvia.
10. Albania.

Xerox have you watched the rehearsals? Loreen's victory seems so inevitable right now.

Also I'm banking on SERBIA to be the token TOP5 dark horse. I barely payed attention to it before the rehearsals, but it is VERY well performed and not as boring as I had initially feared.

For Semi 1, I think Romania will win in a fairly big landslide. France, Spain, Italy, Moldova and Belgium all have large Romanian ethnic minorities and WILL vote to give her at least 10 points, if not more.

Greece is a lock. Eleftheria's live singing is poor (truly the Katy Wolf of this year), but ALL of Greece's diasporiae (except the United Kingdom) are voting in that semi, so... :-/

Iceland is qualifying and will do very well if they tune down Jonsi's microphone. Denmark, Russia, Ireland and Moldova will qualify as well.

The other three spots are toss-ups, but I think it'll be Hungary, Switzerland and Cyprus (in SPITE of Ivi's poor singing) who'll grab them. Maybe Belgium (Iris sings VERY well), Israel or Austria (X__X)

Montenegro, San Marino, Latvia and Finland are toast.

I'm watching the semifinals right now.Montenegro was simply bad, just a lot of un-matching words,Greece and Iceland were a lot better, waiting for my country(as far as I know it is the 6th country that performs tonight). I think Zaleilah will get a good score,it's quite popular in Romania,it was popular even before participating in the Romanian Finals.
