The 10 last finalists have drawn their numbers. Serbia, Sweden, Ukraine, Norway and Estonia all drew relatively good to excellent spots (between songs that are completely different or just a very late draw)

Well I must say that being born and brought up in England and Australia, I've got the typical British attitude towards Eurovision - mocking disinterest.  But I must admit those Russian Grannies are fantastic.  My grandma emailed me a link this morning.

Way to go Russian Babushka!!!!

Hmm, positively surprised by Lithuania. Didn't see semi #2, so hadn't seen it before, and I think it was an interesting entry. He had a good voice, and he managed to pull the show off alone on stage which I think was pretty impressive.

Albanias entry also is interesting.

Russia is adorable, but I reckon the semi-final concept doesn't work in their favor, the novelty has sort of worn off by now. The petite babushka in the middle is hard to trump, though.

Cyprus is a damn great pop song, I know it's cheap, but I can't help loving it.

I don't know any Brits that aren't sour towards Eurovision (now that they aren't winning these days). Is the sore loser trait that prevalent? Especially this one lady I worked with last year: she brought up Eurovision and then it slowly escalated into her giving a 5-minute monologue about how much she loathes it, and everybody around the table gave each other the Bert-stare and kept eating.

This guy... an Oxford historian (surprise) wrote an article about why he thinks Eurovision is a joke:

On Eurovision

Seems like he's got a personal chip on his shoulder about it, but he does give some interesting points.

France going fully for the gay votes, eh?

Love the Italian act, but the song doesn't really do it for me ... too bad, she really has star quality.

Estonia was not bad also, but not that memorable.

Kudos to Norway for actually having an entry that sounded like it could make it to the hitlists, even if the singer didn't have the strongest voice in the world.

Could very well have something to do with it Blizz.  Brits aren't liked much in Europe (probably for good reason).  But I think its a generational thing.  I just know that personally I think most entries are pretty crap .... old pop stuff that tends to get played at kids parties or really lame gay clubs

I'm just rooting for the Babushka!!!  Go Grannies go!

OMGoodness that Norwegian singer is rather scrumptious

I don't get the fuzz over Sweden. It's a good song, but very generic dance-pop to my ears. It's good, but not anything particular outstanding to my ears.

Turkey, on the other hand, is downright horrible, but shoot me if they don't end up in top 10 again.

I'm guessing those Russian are singing about how they're putting cannabis in the buns they're baking.

Makes sense with the "Party for everybody".

I find Loreen enchanting myself, the song is ok by itself but it's her choreography that just makes it so hard to take your eyes off her.

Loreen has obviously been heavily influenced by Kate Bush.  Same hair, same everything really.  I found the song boring.
