Metatron, the fact that you are saying "perfect build", from the start means there is no balance, since in a balanced situation there is no such thing as perfect build.

Albo, gee thanks for the advices. I had Fog Veil, and Mas Haste, of course, and nice build overall, but it didn't help. I was counting on 3 stacks from necromancy, so that sheer numbers could be my protection, but I got only one stack. Do you really think 15% less damage from protection would have turned the game around? Be real.

But no problem... I found out where the imba is in this map, and I'll use it to my advantage in the future. Just saying the fabled balance doesn't exist, necro vs academy is still unbalanced matchup, even more than in HRTA or ToH Arena... and I don't like false advertising

You just played couple of games on this map and the players you face have hundreds. Don't expect to win 80% of your games here because that A Group is especially strong.

And yes, 15% protection and 15% resistance could have made the difference...maybe yes or maybe not... Hard to say without replays, that none of you provided yet.

Necro vs Academy, Barbarian vs Inferno, Haven vs Inferno - these are the hardest duels probably on every map. It's almost impossible to balance all 27 combinations and you should know it so please stop complaining after each loss about the map, especially when you had the restart...

Dude, there's no problem for the loss... but when you say the map is the most balanced, it creates expectations.

So, I was expecting, at least, to put up a good fight, if not win Academy. Sure you gave Necro extra protection from shooters with improved fog veil, but you turned necromancy into a bullsnow skill. Only one stack from necromancy is way too little racial advantage, when put up against mini-artifacts or 3 avengered stacks and so on.

You say good destructive is the most dangerous, but that is only true for your map and mod, where Mass Haste, Luck and Morale(its natural counters) are dumbed down and destructive isn't altered at all.

On real maps, destructive can range from the toughest to the weakest school, depending on the moment of the game, and even in Arena, there were versions where Dungeon was the weakest town, which says a lot about Destructive "the most dangerous".

Difficult to find opponents. Channel 1 is always full and channel 2 always empty. Played only 1 game until now, which wasnt quite pleasant.

Had an unpleasant game myself(vs Mysza), where my opponent was writing all over the place play, move, go and so on... then when battle became impossible, he disconnected and after half an hour he wrote he doesn't want to play me anymore lol.

btw, can some1 post the changelog ? wanna see all the differences between arena and 3.1 on one place.

Btw map seems well balanced to me, you are almost doomed to get a close battle no matter what

Probably 1st round was only warm-up. 2nd phase would be 3 groups, each with 5 players.

Very weird system... I would prefer finals after groups. 16 players in 1/8 finals would be perfect.

My games vs. Qlczas :

Academy wins Sylvan
Inferno wins Academy
Sylvan losses Inferno

Final result:
Towerlord - Qlczas : 2 - 1

Games were nice, in first opponent mistook build, 2nd we both had good builds, and my resistance made the difference, and 3rd I forgot to set favoured enemies and I couldn't deal enough damage.

Unfortunatelly, I don't have the last one.

Some other replays - last vs. Metraton, don't have the others, maybe he has them. And the one vs. Mysza, the one that triggers his non-combat attitude. Btw awaiting some decision from referees, on how things will go from here on with Mysza, convince him to play or win for me.

Of course that battle from the replay is won by You TowerLord so for now it's 1-0 in your favour. I wrote to Mysza and asked him what's going on so when he writes back I'll let you know. Hope those games will be played yet.

As for our games i'm sorry but i won't be able to play today. Have to go to work unfortunately ( supposed to have free day when we spoke yesterday ). Tomorrow - Saturday - suits me the most. From 10 am I'm available.


And yes. As Bania said already, this is something like a warm up round. Let the players know the map and see who really wants to play. Grup B is a little disaster at the moment but in the evening i will do something about it. Probably the whole group will be terminated and those who want to play will be spread to groups A and C.
There will be no knock-out phase. Next round we will play the same way in one table with 12-14 players ( just 1 restart more for each player). I hate knock-outs on Duel Maps and we never play that way in the league (usually with so called Swiss System but it would take too long)
Bunch of good players and each vs each, that's how it's going to be.

For me, knock-out would be more adrenaline, and Swiss would be top.. since I haven't played heroes in this type of tournament. Please consider makind 2nd round Swiss, and don't give extra restart... 4 restarts would be really annoying!

Hi all

I also agree with Towerlord.

Swiss system would be nice, everyone vs everyone IMHO would be too long to take. Maybe stay with 2 groups? but now as Albolabris said, in those 2 groups shall be people who really wants to play and have some skill.

Another thing -> 4 restarts? nope. 2 are sufficient :] but the final decision is Yours Albol.

Ok. So 1 restart stays. About the system. Guys i love Swiss system, it's the best and most competitive in my opinion  but there is one issue with it. Nobody can't play next round until all players finish the previous one. You really want to wait so long? Someone can play his 3 battles on the first day and after that he will wait whole weak to play next round. Each vs each you play when you can play...
Let's say we will play 6-8 rounds so it already is something like 6 weeks. Not to mention that i have to do the drawings every round. If we will play the next round with 12-14 people everyone will play tops 39 Battles. It's quite a lot indeed but it's fun I really wish to clash swords with best players from other group.

I propose to options:

- 12 people all together advance to the next round and we play each vs each, 3 battles, 1 restart ( 33 Arenas Max )

or

- 14 people advance, each vs each but only 2 battles, 1 restart ( 26 Arenas Max )


Believe me, Swiss system will stall this Tournament until July minimum. I want to finish this before the UEFA Euro starts since when it does, nobody will play at all. Also students have no time in that period and Hall of War starts new season so we have to have a clean sheet, closed tournament etc.


TowerLord i'm online until 2 pm so let me know if you wish to play.
I spoke with Mysza and he doesn't want to play those 2 games with You so you get 3 points. He said it took you almost an hour to reach the arenas and the battle went very slow also. He lost his patience, nothing more.
I know there is no limit and sometimes it takes quite a lot of time to think of some way for a win but i would really appreciate if You could speed up just a little bit. I understand you are still discovering maps potential, her strong and weak points but on hour only for building your can irritate your rivals so please try to understand them too.

My dream setup:

Swiss, 12-14 players, 3 games, 1 restart, 6-7 rounds.. 1 week/round
with max 2 days extension

About Mysza game.. it wasn't as long as he says. I did take a lot of time deciding whether a restart is needed or not, assessing the artifacts, since I already got burned with academy, and cloak of sylanna was very tempting so I went for it.

Ok. Group B is officially terminated. Belan, Derum and Barabasz are out.

People left from Group B with their numbers are:

1. Unknown
2. DrOwnage
3. SeRaFiNeK
4. ikero
5. EBOLA
6. herakizia

Those 6 players will be spread to groups A and C.
2 players go to group A, 4 to group B so we have equal amount.
We will draw them using random sequence generator. Middle column goes to group A, left and right to group C


Here is the draw:






So, SeRaFiNeK and Unknown join group A.
DrOwnage, EBOLA, ikero and herakizia join group C.

You can play, as soon as i finish playing with TowerLord i will update the charts so you can see it clearly.

This tournament has started to grow on me... though the map is certainly not flawless. The cool thing about it, is that with so many changes, this seems almost like a new game, so now I am in discovery mode. And discovery mode is cool
