Only upgraded creatures will be available for Heroes to recruit at town and external dwellings, and all heroes will start with upgraded troops.
Furthermore, Creature Banks, Pandora's Boxes and local events that give free troops when captured will always give upgraded troops.

Non-upgraded units placed by the map maker will remain as they are and you won't be able to upgrade them if they join you.
Necromancers will produce normal skeletons if there's any empty slot as usual.

Wog Revised update:

1- I corrected a few typos and turned all artEfacts into artifacts for consistency. Also new players, especially if their mother tongue isn't english could have thought they are two different things.
2- I added two lines to gnoll marauders first strike script. if selected, the new specialty is also shown in creature info box. i checked if the zText number was claimed or used anywhere else, no conflicts.
3- ReadMe file that automatically displays in mods manager info box.

I modified it for random map play, there are two alternate versions, one replaces Junk Merchant, the other Adventure Cave. You can install them both but don't enable them at once.

It's AKUHAK's work. He used hex-editing to adapt campaign files (which are of bit newer editor version then we have).

Tell me if you face any troubles. Phoenix 3.61, for instance, includes "dl buttons.fix" patch to allow old-style buttons behavior. So porting is quite fast.

No troubles with technical details, this I got the pattern. Is that I would need to replace old defs (which were bad quality) with 3D ones, + a few DL to replace boring scroll boxes from 3.58f. Then doing the package will be quick.

So you need all of it? Pcx and def files or only the campaigns?

I actually am concerned on how this might work though. For instance will the maps be Wogified? This would work a lot better if they were played on a vanilla Heroes III environment because I have noticed in the past that some quests can't be completed in WOG. For instance, if you play a map that has a quest, "Flag all creature dwellings" then this victory condition doesn't work on WOG (I've tried it a lot). That's one of the reasons that original Heroes campaigns were obsolete in WOG. I don't know if that's been fixed in ERA or not.

I never used this option anyways. I was refering to the original restoration of Erathia campaign, If you remember, the third map had as a victory condition to flag all 7 Griffin dwellings. But even when I did i couldn't win the scenario. Same was in Adrienne's campaign, second map.

Since ERA II doesn't alter the original Heroes III folder, I guess at least the original campaigns are playable now (which is really cool) and I think it is imperative to play them in plain Heroes III anyway (as they were meant to be).

I just brought that problem up, because i can't remember if there is a map with such a victory condition in Heroes Chronicles. And since Heroes Chronicles do not work on Windows Vista or 7 anymore, it would be nice if you got them to work (preferably on their original form and not WOG).

That wouldn't work because the Heroes Chronicles use a diferrent campaign format and even if I extract the h3c files in the map folder the campaigns won't work. They will appear in the Custom Campaigns but they won't start, the game will terminate and exit.

The only way to have it work in normal heroes is to extract the maps one by one and make a new custom campaign out of them. However, these campaigns won't open with campaign editor so i don't know how that would work either.

You must check option: "wogify all maps but ask before" then cancel when it proposes to wogify. In this way you get 100% SoD game play in those campaigns (ERA has internal AI SoD radius now).

It is not so easy as I thought to make english version, the author renamed all campaigns and now I have to find each one. The ERA package is very different from the regular chronicles one.

These are english Heroes Chronicles campaigns that can be opened with Campaign Editor thus they will probably work in the game too. I think these are the files that were converted from original campaign. Link
