It would be better for scripts which need different UN:C addresses for different versions if each version had a unique number such as 359, 360, 361, et cetera - but there are no WoG Police to enforce that.  I think from now on I will try to stop using the version numbers (except for 358) and make some check to see that some specific code is at a specific address - such as the executable code that contains a pointer to the UN:C address.  Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks, I was planning to post message in thread about transparency, that link stopped working, but you reuploaded thid mod
But there's one problem: on map, when I'm moving, fog is moving also, and it appears on... interface? Maybe HD mod's, or new ERA's bug.

Really? I know that first version doesn't work on HD mod (width and heigth was hardcoded as 800*600), but next versions does.

When I was using alpha for a campaign project, I wanted HD but objects were out of place, I asked then was informed that not compatible. I have the first alpha.dll, is there a newest one which works with both regular and HD?

I decided to share with you my unfinished "mod" - Realistic Terrains. It doesn't mean that I stopped working on it. I thought that maybe someone could help with it. Nonetheless grass is ready. Dirt and sand (rather it is now desert) are almost ready.

Thanks, looks nice but the dirt does not blend. The grass and sand are very good, but the sand hurts the eyes after a while.

One of the biggest things I've thought lacking in HoMM 3 was water terrain.  I'd like to see deep and shallow water, with maybe some strategic differences for the two of them.

Hmm... this gives me some interesting ideas for maps....

I want to share my little mod which contains just new Blood and Diamond Dragon from Acid Cave mod and some of the original SoD icons.
You can download it from here:

P.S. I know that my mod does not deserve to be listed in first post.

Artu, is not a good idea to release both alpha.dll and transparent objects in one mod, should be one mod which enables transparent (dll) then several mods containing objects, to avoid dll duplicates later.

Check correct package I uploaded previously on this page.

Alpha mod is delayed from integrating main thread, as it seems there is some alpha.dll out which is compatible with HD mod. I need to find it then test, but first I need HD mod, don't have it.

okay, i removed the fog mod i uploaded from my era 2.4, i installed the alpha object patch, but the thing is its fog doesn't work while the stand alone fog patch worked. it displays fog in game like it displays fog in map editor: a giant F letter on the map. And yes HD mod was off while i tested this.

btw, i'm sure you already know but you can download the latest HD mod from here:

To have transparent objects working, you need both installs from my previous post:

a) Alpha mod (has the dll)
b) Alpha objects (has all transparent objects done until now), requires Alpha mod

Thanks for the link.

Curious if you can replace the image files in the Portrait Manager's mod folders.  Seemed to crash it for me ... any way to make it work with my own pictures?  (They were right size, type, etc., but something seems to go wrong.)

You can disable the portraits manager mod and place your custom portraits in Heroes 3/Data folder like in classical wog. for example, if you want to replace Orrins portrait you have to name the files hpl000kn and hps000kn. Here are the codes for all heroes:
