artu you never used scripts like sorcery II? anyway there many scripts with custom popups on rightclick. Mithril upgrade interferes with that, so was the reason they changed it once in SU. Ctrl-click is safe because only mithril upgrade is called by that while you can safely rightclick on anything on the map assuming most of time getting just rclick-popup (sometimes standard sometimes scripted similair to standard one).

On the Castle Upgrading. It was cheap. Not because it costed 7000g2m, but because it ALWAYS costed 7000g2m no matter what. So first upgrade was a bit costful second and third must-have fourth through tenth easy-go tenthh through 999th were just-buy-it-cause-anything-I-can-spend-my-infinite-gold-are-castle-upgrades. If 7000g2m is much or not is matter of taste, but having it availible all the time was issue, no matter what constant cost would be. I believe script can be patched to have starting cost lower or slower gradation of price but the change from SU beeing it gradually rising cost for the same upgrade is major improvement on balance, and makes place for more tactics. Now you may choose if risk 7000g2m in newly taken town or pay 14500g7m for upgrading it in capital city or somewhere deeper in kingdom. note that same set of changes got into upgrading of creature growth - now instead of upgrading gremlins and gremlins and gremlins (or titans and titans and titans) player may consider upgrade some growth of nagas and genies just because it appear more economic (because being lower instance of upgrade).

castle upgrading or mithril enchancments may stay as a mod if they have to (who on hell boycotted pretty Forge? `twas the reason 3DO fell?), but I beg changes to wogify.erm to be incorporated into ERA because of some important fixes and SU-compatibility. Anyway this tiny mod is for several reasons must-have for me.

I understand your point. But WoG is pretty old now and is already the base of some hundreds of maps, some of them using wogification and a *dat file. The strong point of Era is that it allows to anyone (with a bit of erm skill) to make the needed changes to suit his game play style then use it as mod.

Era already changes the way emerald towers work and it was a bad idea, while I agree they were too powerful. I know a bunch of maps which use it and this change makes them unplayable, so these guys see their work screwed. Now you propose another change, which will affect creatures growth and castle upgrading.

IMO all important changes should come as mods, and only bug fixes + new scripts should be added to wog package. Then your change will be used as mod by those agreeing with you, does it sound fair?

@Edit: Ultimately is Bersy who decides, but all points of views have to be considered.

he wants it replaced with wog revised, not wog. and that actually is not a bad idea, for old maps we have wog itself and even original scripts mod. the thing is with this as yet another mod, small mods like smugglers hideout interface start to conflict. if you choose them, you must edit their ztext according to su interface or wog revised interface, if you put it prior to SU, new bans wont display, if you put it below it new building wont display in the menu. i am waiting for era 2.5 and the latest shape wog revised will take to modify zsetup texts of these mods.

just a heads up guys, i plan on releasing my next object patch soon. i had said within a month, but since i really don't want to play with the shark def (and other related water objects) right now, i will be pushing it out sooner rather than later. probably within a week. i think all i'm going to finish is the spider trees. i have 44 different kinds of ground patches, from 3-7 sizes each. that's not including the flowers and sporadic plant life that covers the ground, i think that adds up to 64 kinds of ground patches. so there will be plenty of ground to cover... lol.

That thing about creature growth is part of original castle upgrading script too. The point is that SU version makes cost of income and growth upgrades rise gradually.
Since someone may resist changes on it to wog itself i proposed including it in wog revised mod.
But I hope fixes from SU I merged into wogify script (including new banning options but also higher compability with wogifing non-random maps and compability with SU-based mods) could be included in wog itself.

SU stands for Script Update - the official wog update after wog3.58f which consist only from scripts and a few datafiles (no changes to exe).
Era scripts are based on plain 3.58f but contains various fixes (most of fixes was released before under SU but not all).
My analysing efforts shown that not all fixes from SU were included in ERA but it mostly refers to wogify script. I'm not talking SU is entirely superior to ERA scripts (it isn't for various reasons) but I hope we can have a version of ERA compable with both sets of scripts and also for ERA to swallow fixes that haven't yet been included.
I once tried to prepare merged all scripts from ERA and SU but is it outdated due to some latest changes in era scripts (which I know they were rational).
But mostly for SU-dependent mods there are only changes to wogify script crucible.
So I think including fixes AND changes from wogify script in official ERA (while not swallowing whole SU) would be a wise compromise.
Most of times various ERA mods touching wogify script are not compatible, and that I want to avoid.

The zsetup text interface is now compatible with SU patch. This does not replace the old version for Wog Revised v1. I will keep that downloadable until SU version replaces Wog Revised for good.


Edit: January 8: Both this link and the Wog Revised version of Smuggler have been updated. The edge bug has been fixed, no error messages if object is placed on the left edge of the map.

I wish any people which have used SU before on non-ERA instalation to share thoughts about what important (or nice) changes were not included in SU_patch.

As you know in SU almost all scripts were changed and my SU_patch changes only 3 scripts, so I may consider more proper port of SU for ERA after ERA2.5 would come (I smell major changes, I smell major changes, and don't want become incompatible so soon).

You know, if you're using the HD mod, instead of another mod you can simply place the rmg.txt file in:

_HD3_Data/Templates/Folder With Name/rmg.txt

And it will appear in the random maps list to select.

Players reported in maps4heroes that playing the 3.58 map under Era caused few strange things, scripts as summoning stones disabled middle game, secondary skills given via seer huts not working if sec skills mod enabled. I separated universal scripts from main one and scripted manually the sec skills. No other changes, except correct display of specialties for macedonian heros, which I forgot previously, and a few adventure objects right names. Minor fixes.

But now I can fix if any bugs, working directly in saves, which I couldn't in 358.

Alexander is much harder than tew or Top.

Yes, that one. There are a few problems when playing custom maps with hidden skills script and this mod enabled. I would recommend to disable it for custom maps not precisely asking for.

Grove.erm updated

Replace with this erm file. When mod was converted Era ID was 359, then it changed to 400. The reason of crash is Grove checking for either 3.58 or 3.59 version and setting x2:
