I don't know what kind of factions will be, they didn't say that to us  They want to included 4 new factions to Heroes 6 in expansion packs (will be sold in boxes), not DLC. They didn't say when it will be announced and released. It is all I know about that.

Did Erwan specificly state that there will be 4 factions in the upcoming expansion?
Cause if he didn't there might be any number between 1-4 expansions with one or more factions in them.

Because there is no way it will be economically viable to produce and ship 4 expansions in boxes. If they really will make 4 new factions, the most likely layout from a cost perspective is 2+2. Furthermore, the fact that Academy was probably at least partly finished when vanilla was released will mean that producing this faction is not something that's starting from scratch post release.

So, in the end, there will be
-9 factions (5+4), (hopefully balanced)
-a slightly improved skill system
-diversity both on and off the battlefield
-TOWN SCREENS
Is that right? If so, all we need is a decent in-game economy, a reworked UI, compatibility between on- and offline saves, an RMG, sim turns and free starting hero choice for H6 to become the classic it should be. Looks like I'll be playing a lot of H6... at around 2016.

Random thought: What if, at a level-up, one could single out a number of desirable perks,(3/4 maybe?) each from a different tree, and it would then be randomized which perk one ended up with (using different probabilities for different heroes of course, depending on race and Tears/Blood affinity)?

I hope they are pretty much on the same timeline as Heroes 5 when it comes to expansions. I highly doubt it with the mess going on there, but in H5 we got the 1st expansion 6 months after the release of the initial game and then the 2nd expansion came a year after the 1st.

I was wrong, one of redactors of tawerna.biz site wrote wrong news.
There is 9 factions IN ASHAN WORLD, not all of them will be included in Heroes 6 game. Now the real information about it - only one faction will be included in expansion pack. Second faction "maybe will be created" - it is good, true news from Acid - redactor of http://www.acidcave.net/. He talked about that with Erwan.

To be clear - the "wrong news" was at the "Tawerna" site, not at Acid Cave. I hope you didn't mean that Acid Cave has "wrong news", as I can't remmeber when one of our news was "wrong" (except for unconfirmed rumours, which is always stated in such a case, with the source mentioned - and then most of "wrong news" actually comes from HC forums  ).
The misunderstanding probably came from the question that was asked to Erwan by one of our members, Alamar. He reminded that at one point a text about the history of Ashan spoke about 10 factions and asked what was the 10th. Erwan replied that there were only 9 factions, however Marzhin suggested that the text could have been a reference to the Dragon Knights.
We also spoke about the rumour that appeared here, on Heroes Community about 4 new factions for Hereos VI, 2 in expansion packs, 2 in free DLCs. Erwan said that this information was given by a person who "is not with us anymore" and was false as a mixture of over-excitement of the person and wrong translation.

DLCs and addons are aimed at different groups of people as far as I'm concerned. A dlc is not an indication of what an addon would be like in terms of content, size etc.
