Poll Question:
Do you plan to buy Pirates of the Savage Sea?

By now most of you should be aware of the planned DLC for H6, pirates of the savage sea, starring Crag Hack. You will also no doubt have heard that ubi plans to sell it for 10 euros, something that the majority of the community pretty much detests, myself included. I would like your honest opinion on whether you plan to buy it at that price. Let this topic speak the will of the community so that ubi sees whether that is a good idea or not.

Before you jump to the fan raging I would like to point out a few things however.

- Do not be quick to bash ubi for preying on our nostalgia. The storyline has been written by Marzhin who is a great might&magic buff and you can expect him to do Crag Hack justice. He had long wanted for Crag to make his return but felt that he deserved something more than a short cameo hence he dropped the idea of introducing him in the vanilla game.

- Second, do not forget that Limbic is not a big company. I do not know the whys or hows but personally I find it better to see what they can do in a smaller project before they jump into a bigger one. I know that many of you would rather get a decent addon but do not forget what happened with Hammers of Fate, that addon was quite unacceptable.. Short on features/additions, fairly bugged, failed to enrich the original's gaming experience - all it had to offer was a new race, one that was not well balanced(or received for that matter) either. Also H6 is still being patched so this is probably for the best.

- There may be more to it than you know. I personally don't care about new artifacts/boss/heroes/traits but we don't really know a lot on the specifics yet. And more importantly about the campaign or extra map replayability.

- That is not to say I approve of the price but it could prove a decent purchase for all I know.. Personally I feel uncertain and lean on not buying but I could be turned around if I feel it is worth it.

How do you feel about it?

I'd like you to add a short comment if you please, don't just vote and leave There may be things that ubi would be better off hearing than just let the course run its course and see what happens.

No, even if the map is really good for sure I won't pay 10 euros for it. To be honest, I even find it disgusting that after a huge letdown they still want to milk money in such an outrageous way. 1 map = 10 euros pffff

Definitely not. H6 was pricey to begin with, and we got a steaming pile of *** for our money. Fix the game first, then we can talk.

I'll buy that campaign anyway to try out Town Screens and enjoy Marzhin's work but... one or two new neutrals could reduce the rage of fans!

I made myself clear already but since there's a dedicated topic - definitely no. It doesn't matter who created the campaign or how good it is, the fact that they want more money before the original game which they sold broken (and tolerated broken for months) is not yet fixed is outrageous. They could have used this opportunity to make amends by providing the campaign for free but instead chose to be their usual selves.

First do a good game then offer additional stuff to make money. Ubi is doing the opposite so they won't have my money.
Totally agree with Zenofex : they should have give it for free to prove they want to make money with a good product not witha sh*tty one...

I pretty much agree with Zenofex. We need to demand quality for money!

The sad thing is that my mom is going to buy everything no matter what. HoMM is the only game she plays (apart from minesweeper and such), so has no idea how good or bad games can be.

If the new patch bring great changes to balance and kill all bugs... Yes.
If not... No.

I think new DLC is like publishing new chapters/sequel/continuation of book full of typos, without editing & corrections.

New neutrals is a good option... Perhaps, I'm dreaming, again, new "secret for now" mysterious Ylath's/Sea faction will amaze fans and give some "props" for Ubi. Good press seems to be everything for them...

So now what? We're supposed to wait for new DLC with Sandro? Than for another with Gelu or Gem? Final "expansion" will be Might & Magic: Heroes VI: Solmyr.?

Despite this I'm glad for the return of old character(s).

10 euros for one map?Are they kidding?I would pay for an expansion that adds more towns and creatures, but for one map?Ubihole is so greedy...If it was 1-2 euros,it would be acceptable, but I still wouldn't pay for one map.Maps should be free additions for expansions, not to cost themselves and 10 euros for one single map, even if it was a campaign with 5 scenarios 10 euros would be still to much.

No, I will not buy this. I prefer expansion with more factions and neutrals than this "10-hours excitement."

I am very much tempted. Having enjoyed Marzhin's previous work, I'd like to see and enjoy more of it. And I'll gladly pay 10 bucks for a good story. 10 euros essentialy being peanuts.(You bunch of proletarians)
Having said that, I'll probably wait a while before buying it, due to several papers being due around that time of year and that takes absolute precedence. At times, I have better things to do than play videogames.

One last question, where do you people get the idea that it is just one map? From what I can tell, it's an entire campaign.
Which as far as DLC goes is actually quite big. Most of them only promise 2-3 hours of extra content for the same price. Or just some cosmetic fluff for about a third of the price.(3/3,5 euros)

Small edit: Elvin, great effort but there should be a (Very much tempted)-option and a (I highly doubt it)-option.

Not buying it. It's not even a matter of the price, DLC's that include only campaigns don't interest me. That being said, I do think 10 € is way overpriced.

For me the decision Depends on the content.
1: 10h of gameplay in heroes sounds rather few. Hope it will be a little more (15?).
2: A Dynasty weapon, an Artifact set and Treats are nice. But except for the Set, I usualy do not use these features for balance purpose, so if the DLC would bring more content it would be a plus.
3: Unlike many people here, I do not blam Ubisoft for the high incial price of the game, I knew what I was buying, Ihave played the demo and nobady forced me to buy the game. The patching proces is still going on so I still reciev care and updates for my money. But this is a different feature then the was supposed to be in the Vanila game so I do not have a problem paing for it.
4: 10€ is a lot imho, so as I said I will wait for some reactions and the full content of the DLC. I hope it will no turn out as a FPS or RPG style of a DLC (1 map/quest and a set of guns/relics that makes your equipment look like junk). If It actually would be something special, I would be willing to pay the full price. IF no, the appropriet price in my eyes would be 5-7€.

Not buying it. 10€ is FAR too expensive for what the DLC is adding. Also, I think they should reconsider releasing DLCs before the game is in an acceptable state.

Yep, €10 is scandalously overpriced.

For other games you can get DLCs that provide new factions for a little under €4 euros... and that on it's own is considered outrageously expensive by most players I know.

The prize should AT LEAST be halved for it to become acceptable.. and even then, the gane needs to be FIXED first. Why aren't they busy patching up their game with the improvements it SORELY needs?

No way I'm buying this, for 2 reasons:
1) Like many others said it above me, the vanilla just isn't worth its money yet, so they should keep on working on the game instead of selling new buggy maps / weapons etc. Ubi isn't worth a dime until the game becomes what it should be. For Dog's sake, I was just reading the Ubi forums today, where someone with v1.4 was reporting a ridiculous bug that's in since the beta. You know, that thing we played A YEAR AGO.
2) Personally I hate what they're doing with the legacy heroes, I find no place for them in Ashan. They're only milking the franchise even dryer, and they're ruining all my nice memories in the process. I hope that all old universe heroes that get "reincarnations" in H6 will come in DLCs so I can just avoid them altogether.

I would buy it only if it had new creatures (that aren't recolors) and if I could find a physical copy in a store. Otherwise this definitely isn't for me.
