I was under the impression that you can purchase magic skills for thieves, but you could never upgrade it to higher levels.

Tsar, in future you WILL run this sort of thing past the DM first. This game is NOT a 1-to-1 match with the videogame, the premise and the map alone should tell you that. Understood?

It's all right. Just...don't do that again. It's not fair for you to say "oh, my character finds a thousand gold pieces!!!" when everyone else is stabbing rats and spiders for lunch money. That kind of thing spirals out of control very easily and is one of the big reasons I haven't done a freeform game before now.

I see your point. I wanted a lore friendly (both my character and MM7) way to obtain money, and while replaying MM7 I realized that the well fit the bill perfectly. Again, I'm sorry for my impudence.

@Tsar: Don't worry about money, there will be plenty of opportunity for that here. It just isn't going to fall out of the sky, is all. Not much excitement to be had that way.
