So much this.  Which is why you lot are advised to stay in-character and not use OoC knowledge.  Also, I will mock and deride you when the metagaming bites you, which it will.
Also, this seems like as good a time as any to introduce the combat 'system' as it were. Rather than expect you lot to telepathically pick up the difficulty from my mind and then have me scramble to compensate when the fight gets interpreted as much harder/much easier than it was supposed to be, I'm going to give you a number:
1 - This is an easy fight. Even characters who have never held a weapon before can win this, short of deliberately sabotaging yourselves.
2 - The party can win if it keeps its act together, coordinates attacks and so on, but you do need to have an idea what you're doing to pull it off. Injuries are probable but given you work together, shouldn't be fatal.
3 - The party is evenly matched. Your chance of victory is 50-50, if you win you will be battered and worn out and odds are good not all of you will be standing at the end (unconscious or dead).
4 - The party can't win in a straight fight at all, but might under exceptional circumstances. Examples of "exceptional circumstances" include fighting a powerful foe when the party has flight and ranged capability and the foe does not.
5 - If you fight this you will lose.

Nah, these be dragonflies. In the game at least, you could pull the whole horde at level 1 and still go out the other side victorious... given you use good tactics. If you have no idea what you're doing however, you might want to pull small parts of the hordes first and then kill them piece by piece.
And the queen is just a bigger dragonfly that breaths fire regularly and has a butt-load of HP.

Yeah, but remember that we're still weak and worn from the body transfer.
Mat is a bit frustrated from the gambling and Grog (Bowie) isn't sober yet.
Our equipment is bad and basic.
That's how I see things.

Which I have been brooding for over a day on how to effectively deal with. Alas, my mind works far better when under stress  .

Sorry for the delay. I now understand what Pratchett meant when he said that Rincewind is a hard character to write about. What do you do with a character who just wants to get out of trouble? Took me a while to understand that I must use my surroundings.
