They look quite cheerful for slavers. Rincewind thought to himself, Of course, being the ones with all the power slavers had all the reason to be cheerful.

Rincewind looked about him to see where he could hide. Soon he found the perfect place. A place where no one will find him. The ocean floor. He regarded the thought for a moment and decided to take his chances with the sailors.

Most of your clamor only succeeds in making the whole group unintelligible, but the man addressing you manages to pick out a few words.

"Adventurers? Don't tell me, let me guess—you're out of Krewlod, aren't you?" The man addressing you motions for ropes to be brought, the ends of which are thrown into the water so you can come aboard. "Yes, I think it would be worth a meal to hear your story. I hope you like hard tack—we don't have much else right now."

On being brought aboard, you can see that his ears (as well as those of many of the crew) have a definite point to them. Closer inspection reveals there are a few oddballs among the crew as well, including a woman near the bow who is dusky rather than dark, and one or two who appear to be a different species entirely that possess beady eyes, short brown fur and pointed, whiskered snouts.

Knowing that Thirdlings had a bit of a reputation, he'd thought to keep that to himself for the time being. But then again, he wasn't in the safe lands, so they'd likely not know what he was talking about if he did admit it.

Bowie climbed up the rope and managed to reach the deck.

"Wait. You don't look like anything I've ever seen. By the way, where are we?"

Rincewind calmed down after he got on the ship. Neither the sailors nor the shipwrecked tried to harm him. This was a refreshing change of pace for him. Still something wasn't right. Now that he was out of the water he noticed that he feels rather unusual. He grabbed the end of his robe to squeeze out the water. He failed. When he looked down he realized that this was due to him not wearing a robe. Further inspection revealed that his black leather attire suggested he was a member of the Ankh-Morpork's Thieves' Guild, rather than a student at the Unseen University.

"Ummm... excuse me, has anyone seen my robe? I seem to have misplaced it." He said to no one in particular while rubbing his chin, "And my beard..."

Then his eyes widened. Very slowly he raised his hands and put them on the top of his head. He sat like that for a moment with his eyes still wide open, with everyone on the ship looking at him as if he was some sort of madman. Then, as if to confirm their thoughts, he screamed, ran to the side of the ship and leaned over the rails.

"My hat! Where is my hat?! Did it fell overboard!?!"

Rincewind looked frantically for his pointy hat, but all he could see was his reflection in the dim lantern light. It looked rather young, unshaven and with thick, black hair on top of it.

"Ummm... while we're on the subject of lost possessions." Rincewind mumbled uncertainly, "I seem to have misplaced my body as well."

Tristan, upon seeing the ship, was wondering if it was The Caspertine, and if he would be meeting up with Captain Shakespeare again. As he got closer, his hopes dwindled. He could see there were many differences between this vessel, and Captain Shakespeare’s.

With the offer of help from the man, however, Tristan took hold of the rope, and climbed aboard. What he saw, now that he got a closer look, he was not sure he believed. He slowly took it all in, scanning each and every individual he could see, turning his head left to right. He almost fell back over the side of the ship as he took a step back in shock.

“You all are…you all are…you all are as if you are from those fairy tales that…. Wait. My voice. Something’s wrong with my voice. It sounds…different? What is going on here,” he asked, grabbing at his throat, sitting down so he doesn't fall overboard.

Bowie started walking around the deck. Then, a thought came to his mind.

"Why do I have the feeling that these are not our bodies? I, for instance, was a human and now I'm this green skinned creature.", he said, "By the way, what am I now?"

Bowie was sure that something odd is happening here, but he did not know what that "something' was.

Mat had a slightly difficult time climbing aboard, as he had no way to hold his Ashandarei on his back or otherwise out of his way. After many curses and rather allot of effort, he finally climbed aboard. For a while, Cauthon lay on his back panting, hat and spear beside him. So he got to watch the thief have his little breakdown. And everyone else, apparently. Was he the only one here who had encountered Shadowspawn?

Well, maybe they weren't shadowspawn since they were not trying to kill himself ad everyone that had been brought aboard. On second thought, they might be from Seanchan lands. Those folk had strange creatures left and right, though he had never seen anything like these... Maybe they were another cousin to the Aelfin and Eelfin? "Bloody snakes and foxes." He muttered at the thought.

"Thanks for the hand, friend." He said to the sailor that helped him. "I don't know about Krewlod, to be honest, but I just returned from the tower of Genjhi." As if remembering, he put a hand to his empty eye socket. "Though that might not be a story for pleasant conversation over dinner."

"Never heard of it," your rescuer responds cheerfully. "What's the trade like there?"

To Fandral and Bowie he replies, "Strictly speaking this isn't land, but right now you're riding the current off of the Racken cliffs. And you might want to have a word with your navigator if he managed to get you lost AND stranded on a calm sea like this. We're affiliates of the Merchants of Alvar, going to Emerald Island on a minor mission for Lord Markham."

Anything more he might have said on the subject becomes lost as Rincewind has his fit and the others quickly add their notes to the chorus of dismay.

"Ummm... while we're on the subject of lost possessions. I seem to have misplaced my body as well."

The dark sailor raises one upward-slanting white eyebrow in surprised interest. "Oh? How do you mean?"

Rincewind slumped on the deck and answered the question in a weak murmuring voice.

"I... I don't know... One day you're walking in your wizard's robe with your beard and a pointy hat that says "Wizzard" on it and the next day you wake up in the middle of the ocean wearing this", he pointed at himself. "Is that any way to treat someone, I ask you?"

"Never heard of it," his rescuer responds cheerfully. "What's the trade like there?"
"That depends on what you're looking fer. The Dwarves make many excelent products, but they know what their goods are worth. And ye know what they say, 'it's better to bang you head against a rock to break it than try to haggle with a Dwarf'." Broïndur chuckled to himself and continued talking while chewing the Hardtack he was given.
"The Human settlements offer a wider range of goods and the quality differs, but the Humans love a good haggle, especially the merchants and guildmembers. But I advise ye to steer clear of Toboribor. The savage Orcs there'd rather eat ye, than trade. And listen well to the locals, the foul beasts tend to send out raids and warparties, making travel hazzardous. But Idoslân is surrounded by mountains, the nearest shores are weeks worth of travel at the least. So ye'll have to hop a caravan if ye ever plan on getting there."
Broïndur noticed one of the humans having a nervous breakdown around him. He had not been paying them much attention to be honest, too caught up as he was avoiding the spite of the Gods. All the people who had been fished out with him looked rather worse for wear. Which was more or less how he felt himself. From what he picked up, none of them made any sense, but neither did the sailors much.

Fandral is answered by another crewmember pushing an extremely hard biscuit and a mug of grog with an unfamiliar fruity smell into his hands. The rest of those fished out of the ocean receive similar treatment in short order.

The dusky woman sits herself down next to Rincewind; where most of the rest have swords or a sword and dagger, she has only a dagger. She also has the same upward-slanting eyebrows as the darker members of the crew, though her ears are round.

"Were you experimenting with spells, maybe?" she asks Rincewind. "Or do you have some enemy who could profit by your...situation?"

The man who had you all fished out listens to Broïndur with interest, though he gives the latter a strange look when he brings up the Orcs. "You're something of a misfit where you come from, then? Or are you a victim of whatever curse is on your friends there?" He gestures to Rincewind, Bowie and the others currently having reactions to the body-swapping.

"I don't really have enemies. More like people who don't care if I die in the process of whatever it is they're doing. And as for spells..." Rincewind widgets uncomfortably, "Let's just say I stopped experimenting with them a long time ago. Of course the natural magic field of the Disc can do many things, especially if someone interferes with it. And someone always does. But I've never heard of body changing without something very significant happening. And I can't recall anything of the sort."

Your rescuer peers at Bowie intently, frowning a little.

"You must be from somewhere far from here. I can understand if you've never seen a Dark Elf before—there aren't very many of us and our...cousins in AvLee discourage our presence in this part of the world. But how is it you've never seen an Orc?"

Rincewind's companion hmm's thoughtfully. "I'm afraid Body magic isn't within the realm of my skills. I've heard of Water spells that can change your location, but nothing like what you've described." She pats Rincewind on the shoulder consolingly. "But I'm not ashamed to say I'm far from the most knowledgeable mage in the world. Maybe you can find someone who can help you when we reach shore."

"AvLee? Is that some sort of an Elven country? You live apart?" Bowie was confused.

"But how is it you've never seen an Orc?"

"Orc?! Orcs are green and Human-like here?! In my land, Orcs are pig-like humanoids and they were pink-skinned... The difference is great!"

"But, let me tell you about myself.", he finds a spot to sit and starts his story: "I am Bowie. I come from a land called Granseal located on the Grans island. Galam, the neighbouring kingdom, was our ally until Zeon was awaken. An Evil spirit, the Gizmo has possessed king Galam and the two kingdoms started the war. Meanwhile, my friends and I were some kind of a resistance when the war started, but before that we were nothing more than friends and classmates...", Bowie stops here to drink some water he was given, but quickly continues, "Soon, Granseal was attacked by the Galam army and I arrived to witness the destruction of my home... I headed right to the Ancient Tower where Zeon was dwelling and King Galam was holding Elis, the princess of Granseal and my present wife, as a hostage. My friends and I, along with Sir Astral, my teacher, defeated the lesser servants of Zeon, but it was too late - King Galam has taken Elis through a portal where we couldn't follow them..."

Bowie continued his story. He has mentioned two Jewels, one of Light and one of Evil which were used to seal Zeon. He mentioned Slade, the noble thief that has stolen the Jewels to help the poor people and later joined Bowie in his quest to save the day; all in all, he told them what has occurred during that time, who is who, he told them who were the Ancients and what has happened before those events in the lands of Rune and Guardiana.

Fandral heartily accepts the 'meal', and begins excavating the biscuit while downing a large gulp of the strange 'grog', which had exotic taste. Then Fandral found an empty corner next to a torch to rest and dry (and to finish his 'meal'), when strangely enough his eyes turned to the stars, and more importantly he failed to recognize any of the constellations, being a charter, Fandral knew every constellation by heart, and a shallow dismay fell on as he tried to absorb the harsh truth.

He entertained himself by trying to find the constellations of this new world, while paying small heed to what was being said by the crew. (save for a few words or subjects that stuck-out)

"I should hope you're not the most knowledgeable mage in the world. A woman wizard would be...", Rincewind caught the look on the face of his companion and the words got stuck in his throat. It was the sort of look Conina - the daughter of a barbarian hero, would give to anyone who doubted her abilities. Rincewind knew what an angry woman fighter could do to a man. He didn't know what an angry woman wizard could do to a man and decided not to think about it. His imagination decided otherwise.

"... would be quite exotic.", he finally managed to squeeze out of himself. "Anyway, I suppose you're right. There ought to be someone who knows how to turn me back. The Unseen University Library has thousands of magic tomes and the librarian is the one of the few men, erghh... bi-pedals who always treated me nicely. Maybe I could find an answer in there. Now that I think about it, the librarian himself has undergone a... transformation. I heard the higher wizards knew how to turn him back, but he refused. It's settled then, I need to get back to the University. Tell me, how do I get to Ankh-Morpork from here? And where is here for that matter?"
