I've been posting this over and over again. The Golems and Enchanters will be available only the week after you build the building (not right away). Apparently no one bothers to read my posts anymore...

There is no mistake in the section you point out. It may say Castle but that's in the description only not in the town. Y-1 is right because the script needs to check current town and i is correct because it is used to adjust the current growth and so it is meant to be a temporary variable.

@Salamandre

The script was given to me by Aleee and it had this form. I didn't realize that the timer was for the red player only. I did as you said and it seems to work. It's funny though, because I've been playing the mod over Multiplayer (and so not just as red) and I didn't find anything wrong with it. The growth was running smoothly. However, since it works like this as well I replaced it as you said.

So I guess it is time for a little update:

Hero of Light mod v3.21

TWEAKS AND CHANGES:

- Some Creature Growth issues solved
- Barbarian Axe of Might and Wizards Staff installed
- William starts with Pirates as starting troops
-Masters of Life WOG Option must be OFF (added this on the readme file)
- Smaller rar file to download

It is impossible that growth worked smoothly in multiplayer, timer was set only for red player, there is no black magic in erm. And seeing endless reports about missing growth, it confirms my thought.

I hope that the creature growth seems to work OK now for all of you. The first reports are indeed encouraging.

Okay.

First of all I am not complaining. I just don't know as much about modding as some of you do and therefore I ask these questions.

I have tried a lot of times to install HoL v. 3.21 - and yes it is the right version I have.

In my progress I did the following:
Installed a clean version of H3 Complete - installed ERA II* to the folder of the clean H3 installation - installed New Objects Patch v.1.9 to the same folder - extracted the HoL files to \Mods\

If I start ERA II - I will see that Pikemen have a new skin and all the WoG options are functioning. When I load your script HoL v.3.2 it changes the WoG settings to the ones needed to run your mod.
However, when I start a map as e.g. Castle - the creatures in the Fort will be the same as in vanilla Heroes - the only thing that seems to have changed is that I get to Wogify the map, before starting playing - this works, e.g. if I select "Heroes start at level 5" they do.

So honestly, and please do not get mad, because I am not here to upset you, I really want to play the mod, but I really can't get it working - so I don't know what to do!!


*During the installation of ERA II it runs cmd - while in cmd it said that there were files it was unable to find different files as seen in this screen cap:


Can this be causing the problem? If not, I really REALLY don't know what I am doing wrong.

I had some troubles to with various installation things, but make a new copy of your clean H3, and install it into for example

Computer/Games/h3
Install it into the folder of h3, not into the mods folder, it will auto place files, don't move them.

I think I told you before that I can't know what could go wrong to your computer. If you followed the instructions correctly and the various troubleshooting suggestions that are found in this thread then you already have done the most of what could be done. I am sorry If it doesn't work out for you but that's that.

I noticed that the creatures 7lvl(and other) have sometimes increase equal to 0. It is just a few weeks, then back to normal. And so on.

Have you downloaded the latest version of it (HoLv3.21)? Because I updated it a few weeks ago due to that particular bug. It seems to have been eliminated now.

So I got the menus to change into those of HoL, still the same problems as before. Still the game didn't work. I have tried installing it about +20 times now and it still does not work for me.
And since Hero of Light can not help me any further, would someone, just please, upload a standalone version of the game or at least make an instructional video for people who are not modders?
It would be most appreciated.

It seems to me that your ERA installation went wrong so you're probably posting on the wrong thread about it. Have you tried playing ERA without my mod and see if it works properly in the first place? In any case a standalone version is out of the question due to moral and copyright issues.

You didn't mention what Windows version you are using. Vista seems to be making trouble with my mod (while XP and 7 are working OK for it). For instance, on Vista even a standalone version won't work. Trust me I tried.

Now, this may sound crazy but it worked for me once. IF you're trying to install it on Vista make a copy of your whole Heroes folder (the whole thing not just my mod) and place it in a new folder. Start the game from there. It has worked for me when I tried installing it on Vista. I don't know why but it did. And I did try installing it a hundred times before that as well.

I had no problem with running HoL32 installed on the first Era 2 - everything was fine until I installed ERA 2.4 now it simply doesn't recognise that the MOD is there. Did a complete reinstall from SOD still no joy. Unfortunately didn't keep my previous version of ERA so can't go back to that

@Hero: I am using Win 7.

WoG Era II seems to be working just fine, based on the fact that I have  a commander in my army WoG options work and some creatures like Orcs have changed appearances. Now, I am installing "New Objects Patch", done and now to extract HoL v3.21 - easily done.
I open the game and the menus look like they are supposed to (same art as in HoL 3.1), however, this is where my head starts to ache, I go to WoG options - and make sure the obligatory options are as they should be, however I don't know where how to deselect "Masters of Life".

As I try to play the game as e.g. Haven (with random hero) I get Lycos, who I guess is your creation as his background story involves Adamar.
If I go to fort I will see what I guess is the WoG line-up Hafling, Boar, Fire Messenger, Werewolf, Hell Steed and so on.
In Rampart the monsters are the same as in SoD. Playing as Castle the appearance of the Pikemen has changed, but Griffins are still present, while Marksmen have the skin of Longbowmen and Monks the skin of Zealots. In Stronghold, the Orcs look different and in fort there is a figure of a Lizard Warrior where Wolf Riders are supposed to be, however if I buy the troops, they will become Wolf Riders. In Fortress a "Gorgons" are not Gorgons, but Salamanders. In Necropolis, Walking Dead are Black Monks (Acolytes, I guess). In Inferno the Hell Hound is a Demon where the Demon is an Arch Demon, Pit Fiends are this weird Leopard-masked spear wielder (looking like a monster from Diablo II) and Efreet are a different design of the Rainbow Dragons from the previous version of HoL. Dungeon's line.up looks completely normal 'cept that Harpies have the skin of Harpy Hags.

All the descriptions of the buildings seem to be those of HoL like "Egineer's Guild - Allows you to recruit Siege Engines". If I buy a Barracks I can not recruit Longbowmen, but the looks of the Crusaders are different from vanilla Heroes when I press to see their stats.

So.
Now I am thinking, is there something of great importance in in WoG options I haven't turned off and is the reason I can't get HoL working, I mean that must be the only way, because I have installed the games exactly as I have been told and instructed to.

Maybe the problem lies in Mod Manager. Go to Tools folder and then on Mods Manager folder. HoL should be the first in the priority list (even before WOG). It may be that your problem since you got half the features.

That would make a lot of sense - because I just checked Mod Manager and the load order, and there is nothing called HoL on the list.
The list is:
Enabled:
New Objects Patch
Secondary Skill Scrolling
Yona
Fast Battle Animation
WoG

Disabled:
n/a

Any thoughts on this, Hero?

Well, are you sure you extracted the HoL folder in the right place (in the Mods folder found in the Heroes 3 installation folder)? Because if it is in the right place then the mod manager should find it.

HoL, I think you should update your package with install command, as your mod will not install automatically if such commands not present . The Era package Bersy made will work, but is not updated to your last works.
Maybe one single package should be available in all links. Do all your updates, upload a rar file and I will prepare an executable, is not long.

@Salamandre: When I go to Mod Manager the .exe you are referring to is nowhere to be found.

@Hero: I reinstalled the game again and this time around I extracted the HoL files to \Mods, now Data, Era Plugins and mp3 appears on the mod manager's list as Disabled. I changed it into

Enabled:
Mods
Era II Plugins
mp3
New Objects Patch
Secondary Skill Scrolling
Yona
Fast Battle Animation
WoG

Disabled:
n/a

However, if I run the game from either Mod Manager, the desktop shortcut or the original path of the the application it just runs WoG - without changing the art in the menus to the art of HoL.
