Hiya! Old player here. Nostalgia kicking in.
I used to play HOMM3.... god whats it been 10 years? Sheesh.
My character names at the time were Forcefulpuspus/St_Anfi
I don't play anymore but i just had a sudden rush of nostalgia, i had such a great time playing with all of the people back then.
I was curious if any of the folks from back then still play or visit every now and again? People like Pandora, Yawacko, Zud, Vesuvius(i suppose since this site is still his its likely), BPanik and his brothers, white wiz, jb239, JEX, Jinxer, just to name a few
i even miss that killer B kid who was a jerk in MSN zone chat like all the time. ahh good times

There's still a sizable H3 community, mostly because of the WoG mod. Drop by the Wake of Gods forum and take a look. I think you'd be surprised at some of the things fans have done with this mod.

in TOH sub-forum people play mostly homm5 or homm6.
300-400 homm3 players online community is at GameRanger (www.gameranger.com)
Regarding WOG comment - this is mostly singleplayer mod very unbalanced, with crazy weird features, bugs and only less than 1% of online players use it.
homm3 HoTA add-on is much better, but available in Russian language only (single player; only 2 small campaigns available; no random map support). http://forum.df2.ru/index.php?showtopic=27837 (screenshots at first post in spoilers)
For multiplayer people now use either homm3 (patched versions 3.2 or 4.0) or WT (www.heroesWT.net which allows simultanius turns).
I recommend you to use HD mod which is compatible with SOD/Complete/WT and makes games much more convenient (http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=33708).

homm3...do i still play it?? well lets see...the disk got so many dings from me putting it in the hard drive that it eventually wore out and the company that made it is out of business. if anyone still has a usable disk at this point i take my hat off to them.

I was accused of cheating and even put in the Hall of Shame but i was pardoned(sp?) a bit later.

seemed to me the honor council was inclined to give the accused person the benefit of every doubt when a players honor was questioned. rather unusual to hear that they convicted a player and then recanted. i know that in the minds of some accused meant the same as convicted and rumors were often passed for the truth. some people didnt like me very much, i know that.
the best thing about k1lla was that he was bold and free. with each new season k1lla soared like prometheus unbound! and whenever he came into the zone i knew for sure something exciting was about to happen. but most of all he loved the game. he might have been a great champion if his ego hadnt gotten in the way. but hey..nobodys perfect are they?

Hey St Anfi, I aslo remember playing a few rounds with you back in the day! Miss all the good times we had back then. V did a great job with ToH. New pc and all, I would really like to find those old 2v2 maps we used to play (jb239) anyone have any clue where to find them?
