Don't use indie as it is some bad word, there are indie studios which do much better job than the big corporations.

That's not what I was trying to imply. But Indie developers are often either retro or avant-guardish. And that is not for everyone. Also their lower budgets makes tgenerally for less impressive visuals, which may be artistic is some ways or others, but that, as well, can put people off.
Also it could be indie, or it could be casual. I'm not sure.

Duel is a really cool game - with a singleplayer campaign and an SP traning mode.

I'm hugely dissapointed. Again. Nothing new about Heroes VI? Oh, sorry: Might & Magic: Heroes VI? I hoped H6 will be a great game(after patching process + addons), now... I want to erase all my positive feedback for it... Maybe my words are pathetic but that situation is the same.

The only thing that is left for us is to wait for the Horn of the Abyss team to make some progress in their project (and they are doing sth, slowly, but nevertheless a progress). This is the only way to get some new factions for a Heroes game. I know it's sad, but for me no other thing in the past few years made me this excited, as the addition of the Cove town to the Heroes III... as you can see even modders with no money can make a worthy expansion, and the third game making company in the world can't... Even if they do a Heroes VII game, it will be another series reset (because I didn't feel any connection between H5 and H6) with only 5 factions etc.

Well, you have cool 3rd-person H&S games like Die by the Sword.

I've been thinking about that game a lot recently.  True hack n' slash at its finest.

frankly speaking, i had some high expectations for this gamescom thing as UBI may make some surprising news about HVI.

yeah the news is quite surprising, yeah they don't give a damn about HVI.

I'm so disappointed... will HVI be the end of homm series?

ubi is trying to bleed out every copper from its customers, and what is all these drm and online thing?

What I find surprising, is that some people are finding these news surprising.

But yeah, not even the Sandro DLC announcement. So it was more disappointing than I thought.

Heroes Online looks and sounds pretty cool. I was on Gamescom yesterday and could take a good look, and guess what?
Hexes are back!
They have cool features like different ranges (in Hexes) for shooter units or things like, if you can attack a unit from the back there won't be a retaliation (backstabbing).
Frankly, battles looked fabulous - interestingly enough, allied players (heroes) can attack a boss in combination.
Game will be free to play. Of course you CAN spend money on it, and when you do, the rule is, time is money and vice versa, so basically you can spend money to save yourself playing time.
Of course you don't have to. They said, they aim to increase difficulty, so that you can outplay your opponents instead of outBUY them.

Unnecessary.
A free-to-play game has the advantage that you don't gave to bring in anything - like a demo, just better.

98% online games I have played till now did not convince me in any way to pay them. Sometimes I even feel bad for all the time I have spent in them. But to say that "they will find a way" is a nonesence.
