Interesting facts about coffee:

1.Light has more Caffeine than Dark
Contrary to popular belief light roast coffee actually has more caffeine than dark roast coffee. The reason for this is that the longer coffee is roasted the more caffeine cooked out of the bean.

2.It was illegal
Coffee was declared illegal 3 times by 3 different cultures. The first was in Mecca during the 16th century and the prohibition was lifted after 30 years of debate among scholars and jurists. The second was Charles the II in Europe banning coffee houses trying to quell the ongoing rebellion yet it backfired and was never enforced. (People need their coffee!) The third was Fredrick the Great who banned the beverage in Germany in 1677 because he were concerned with the economic implications of money leaving the country on this new popular beverage.

3.500 Billion Cups Drunk
Over 500 Billion Cups of coffee are drunk each year and over half of those are drunk at breakfast.

4.Fuel Source
Coffee can actually be used to fuel a car. Though maybe not very efficiently at the moment it is nice to know that there is an alternative out there that can not only fuel our bodies but our vehicles too.

5.Coffee Makes You a Better Person
When I drink coffee I become more motivated to do the things I know I should, I brainstorm, I talk to my friends about topics of interest, debate and in general do a better job of connecting with the people I care about. Basically coffee takes the best parts of my ‘personality type/traits’ and enhances them thus my Coffee Personality emerges.

6.Coffee Tastes Better (offers more taste)
Depending on your taste preference this may or may not be true but one things for sure coffee offers more variety of taste, which increasing your mathematical chances of find a flavor to fall head over heals in love with! Coffee has so many different possible flavors that it blows the mind. Coffee has over 800 aromatic compounds. To give you an idea of how many that is, wine has around only 200 aromatic compounds. Coffee dominates the beverage industry with it’s ability to excite and keep your tongue interested.

7.Coffee relives pain
A small study had shown that 2 cups of coffee alleviated the pain of post-gym muscle pain.  Take into consideration that this research was done on those who were not regular coffee drinkers.  Those of you who are big drinkers, you may be immune.

I've found that coffee doesn't require sugar as much as tea does (tea is just bittery water, while coffee still retains its taste wholly, but somewhat unrefined)

But if it's about preference then yeah, I enjoy sugar in my tea or coffee.

Without sugar, thank you! I drink 6-8 cups of coffee in a day. The cup is 2,5 dl. I got to break Moccamaster.

Coffee or Tea? Why choose?

I guess if I was forced to generalize them, I would rank them as Iced Coffee > Iced Tea > Hot Tea > Hot Coffee. It all depends on my mood in the immediate moment though. I'm not a mass consumer of hot beverages but after 2 or 3 iced coffees I'll still be ready to switch it up and have a hot one.

I can drink black coffee without a problem but I'll typically add a moderate amount of sugar & cream. Java is pretty damn good too, but I only have it on occasions because its taste is poignant enough that if I have it several times in a row I'll start to get nauseated to the taste of it. It's like Spam. The first several bites of the sodium-rich, abominable substance are amazing but then you're like "WHY AM I EATING THIS?"

For hot tea, I have a slight bias for the white leaf varieties, while the tea leaf is still a baby and then prematurely plucked away, buahahaha. Chinese white moon tea with some honey added is a favorite of mine. It's worth the extra price imo to get the dried & whole stuff; no bitter aftertaste. For evenings, Valerian root tea is also really nice with its strong earthy taste. That's more of an acquired taste though, as most people think I'm weird for loving the taste of it. Valerian root is also a sedative/relaxer, so be careful how much you wash down

Sweet tea is fairly uncommon here if you're not from the south, but I like the Gold Peak and Tradewinds brands pretty well. One time I was down in Atlanta for a conference dining at the hotel for free every night, and they'd have sweet tea as their default beverage for everybody. Drinking it made me feel like I was chugging down a bottle of pancake syrup, but I guess I'm just not acclimated to the sugary power they dump in it because by the end of the week I didn't think it was too bad. I generally drink unsweetened tea to reflect the darkness within my soul.

You can't really mess up iced coffee. I'm weird enough that you can put black coffee on ice and I'll think it's awesome. My overall favorite is the roasted almond iced coffee. For some reason, I just think roasted almond on ice tastes so much better than its hot brewed counterpart.

Irish Cream is good coffee too, but I'm not sure how much of it is actually coffee

I drink more than ten a day, because this is how I prepare:

1) Nothing else but Malongo first, on espresso machine:

2) Add a snap of Bailey's irish cream, critical add! No sugar, or Bailey's taste is wasted.

3) Of course, additional cream, always!

Result is ugly but tastes damnt well can't let 2 hours go without drinking one. It will kill me in the end.

I used to drink a lot of coffee, but lately my heart wasn't in the best condition, so i quitted it. I do drink it from time to time, if my blood pressure is lower than regular, but that is mainly it. Mostly i prefer black tea, or the one made from quince syrup

I drink both any way they can be served but favor spiking my first cup of coffee with whatever-goodie, then drinking it black the rest o' the day.

@ Corribus, Better stay away from Bailey's Creme Brulee; it strongly challenges my second-cup-rule.
