It's irritating to watch.  No response.  No retaliation.  Just apologies and denials.  My favorite part of the Libya mess is how the White House stated it was spontaneous even though reports stated some assailants were armed with RPGs.

As a response, who do you suggest that you bomb/shoot?

And it's also their job to deal with their citizens.

Which they dont.

Quote:

If the US sends troops to deal with these protesters, it will be seen as an act of war. And as we are trying to get out of wars in the middle east...

Nobody ever spoke of sending "Troops". My problem is that the US  aplogizes for no good reason and that is plain stupid.

Quote:
They are, or did you not see those points in the news article?

oh, I meant permanently.

Quote:

I didn't know that you believed in conspiracy theories.

And what part of my "Conspiracy" theory seems so offsetting? Is it so hard or absurd to claim that a theocractic state has its claws on this protests? Or the only offsetting part is that its a claim?
Rationally speaking, its just logical. Pakistan, yemen, libiya and all the other countries are Anti-American. Its not hard to hypothesize that the state is partly responsible for the riots.

Quote:

Until such a time as there is actual evidence of the government sponsoring and implementing an attack, all that thoughts like this are is idle speculation.

You dont expect reliable "Sources" about these issues, do you?
Because if you do, you are clueless on how information is skewed.
Do you know that nearly in all islamic, media is controlled by the state, and we all know what type of "State" islamic countries are.
To make it clear, there wont be any "Clear" evidence.

Its not that your point there made sense and you make yourself look as if you made a good point. Your sarcasm is not very "Appropriate" here.

Quote:
The governments themselves are not attacking us, so for now we are attempting to make the disorganized mob happy so that they just go home.(Ease up?) If they won't do it, then it's their government's job to handle them, not ours.(Makes sense...)

You should work on your self defeating sarcasm a bit more or maybe the reason that you had to make it sarcastic.
Sarcasm is not appreciated in any serious discussion.

From what I read, the pres and vice pres only denied that the video was sponsored by the US and that we had anything to do with it. Any "Apology" the US made was strictly because a mob has the mentality of a violent child, and it's easier to apologize than it is to reason with a group of people that feel insulted. It doesn't matter what is "Right" at this point, just what is "Effective," and arguing would not be effective.

Quote:

I expect that our extensive intelligence system and spy network would be able to tell us who is responsible, so I think I'll trust my sources. I expect a government sponsored attack on US land would have led us to sending in troops to remove said government, no matter who our commander-in-chief happens to be.

No, it's not really irrational at all. Then again, most conspiracy theories sound rational. Where this one falls apart is, how would our intelligence agencies, who would be monitoring these (as you mentioned) hostile countries very closely, not be able to spot the transfer of funds necessary for these plans? That's why I think this is a much more "Spur of the moment" thing that a few terrorist sects took up as a chance to do some real damage.

On the whole "Sarcasm" thing, I wasn't using any. If I had been, you would have seen either this: [sarcasm] followed by [/sarcasm] at the end of my sarcastic phrase, or you would have just seen: [/sarcasm]. The reason for the emphasis was because (and this is what I saw) it seemed to me like you were stating something I had already used in (quite literally) my last reply as if you were stating something new. Perhaps a bit of an over reaction, but I felt slightly insulted that you felt like you had to repeat that bit when I originally pointed out that it was the local government's problem...

funds? for what? the movie?

I think there is a plan, but money wouldn't have triggered such riots. that's the point of indoctrinating people. it's like pavlov's dog, all you have to do is to ring a bell and suddenly the mobs go burn an ambassade. you need money for that, but not for buying weapons, or mercenaries, but for the indoctrination.

I dare to ask every HC member:

Go to google images, type "Christianity is" and see what results you get in google drop down list.
Do the same again but this time type "islam is".

Why the hell does google not remove dropdown results for christianity and islam?

Obviously, this can be explained by the fact that there are less people bashing islam than christianity or the internet is being misused to spread islam, which is rather disgusting.

The only difference I got was that I had "Islam is the light" where Christianity got "Christianity is a cult." Other than that, it was the same poisonous garbage for both. And maybe more people are looking up things for Islam because they are curious about what it's actually about, while most human beings with internet assume (sometimes wrongly) that they know everything about Christianity? Or maybe someone is arguing with an extremist militaristic Islamist and wants to prove them wrong with their own holy book? Honestly, there are so many more options than what you list that it is just a bit entertaining.

Anyway, you being a militant atheist and all... don't you want Christianity and Islam to have more negative viewpoints than positive? Why should you care if people are curious about learning something other than polarized rants about one over the other? There are far more "Negative" than "Positive" searches going on for both. I don't really see why you have a problem with this.

I'm not sure what the British legal system has to say about such posters but in most countries these fine fellas should indeed be arrested for spreading hatred/intolerance. I guess as long as they don't become violent, they can't be arrested for disrupting the public order though.

you would probably deport everyone anyway. a prison-country for muslims is probably your solution?

even though, I suppose it would fit them, we see the results with those muslims countries...

police walking with them? well, that's obviously better than fights, but...

@Fauch

Ah again, people taking something I said and translating it randomly to feel better. Where did I say that?

The point is muslims get an awful reputation because extremists. Which should be deported, someone holding slogans against the system which feeds him, is not worth of receiving citizenship or further aid. Out.

I must have been confused. you often complain about islam, but I may have assimilated it to seraphim's rant.

everyone was amazed about how fast the "arab srping" was spreading. and what do they think about that?

I'm not necessarily arguing against their authenticity, but if these posters are real, the whole thing is obviously organized either over the Internetz and the "protesters" are recruited with a purpose in mind or the same people participate in both events (less likely though).

I believe that the most likely scenario is propaganda. Most islamic followers,I have met, make posters, search things about Islam so that they can convince themselves or assure themselves that "Infidels" are wrong. By doing so, they clutter the search results with "Islam is the light"...They also do it because they believe themselves to be philanthropic and spread the lies through the internet.

Anyway, you being a militant atheist and all...

Militant?
Quote:

The word militant is both an adjective and a noun, and is usually used to mean vigorously active, combative and aggressive

I am neither active nor combative. How does this make me a militant?
You must have gotten a high dose from elodin's anti atheist ramblings.

Quote:

Yes. But islam is far more annoying.
Quote:

Polarized? Please, tell me more about how one can remain non polarized when some people kill, burn and destroy because of a video...
What else could one learn from, say, Islam? Its a book based on beliefs and has the moral compass of a psychotic lunatic by todays standards.

I have a problem with the "Islam is the light" bs in search lists.

What I find ironic is how these people insult "Democracy and freedom" across europe, yet misuse the same system to make this happen. It really resembles cancer.

In a very organized, militaristic, culty way.

Quote:
Militant?

Yes, Militant. I'm rather certain that if I searched this thread for fifteen minutes, I could find around ten different instances of you wanting to remove, exile or just generally restrict the rights/ faith of those people with religions. Also, you have described all religion (not just the islamic faith) as a cancer that must be removed from society quite a few times and I'm certain that you have made rants about how much you "Hate" religion and how much its mere existence "annoys" you.

I'm also rather certain I saw a post or three where you wanted to execute a person for committing a crime because their religion added to the severity of said crime. And somewhere you also made a statement that basically boiled down to "having a religion should be a crime"... so I'm rather certain that "Militaristic" fits the bill, aye?

Quote:
Polarized? Please, tell me more about how one can remain non polarized when some people kill, burn and destroy because of a video...

You can judge the lawbreakers instead of their faith?

Quote:
What else could one learn from, say, Islam?

From the book specifically? Let's see... how to be a perfect host and guest, how to debate calmly and rationally, how to respect human rights and the beliefs of others, and a few ceremonies involving the evening meal, cleanliness and inner perfection to name some things off the top of my head.

As to the other half of the line quoted above? Obligatory, "Read what you are against or forever prove your ignorance," Elodin style.

Quote:
I have a problem with the "Islam is the light" bs in search lists.

So you have a problem with people having faith and pride in their religion? Maybe it's just the name of a popular blog (probably, actually...) that people have used google to find many times.
