the campaign is super fun and I have only finished one map

I was prepared to be disappointed by this expansion but so far, it has exceeded all of my expectations.

Agree and I finished the 1st map which I am probably going to replay to become a tear hero instead for the Visuals. Relaeg just does not suit as blood.

I still have not recieved my pre-purchase bonuses though and I feel bad for all those who do not know how to get the game to work.

Same as you guys - I am having fun more than with the original + DLCs. Virtuos did amazing job (apart those minor bugs as I dont encounter any major issue).
3rd map of the dungeon campaign and I wish those campaigns would have 10+ maps

PS: I recieved new email this morning with another code for all the preorder goods (1 hero + 3 weapons)!

the last expansion as they stated.fun or not.no sylvan. no academy.
i like this  game way much to play with all those tactical disadvantages(resources, tiers, less factions) and the mistreatment from the company, the bugs, the trouble installing, not fixing a thing with the 2.2 gb patch and having to be always online for playing single player mode. this game was a test for patience (as someone else stated) and mine ran out.
maybe i'm being over-dramatic but i see no point in playing a game with no replay value (playing the same stuff all over again without implementing anything new) and from a company that actually takes me for an idiot (ok all companies do that but this one was more profound).
great forum and very helpful!i'm going to check what's in the heroes 3 section and then i'll unsubscribe until heroes 7 is out and ubisoft is not in charge thanx for all the help and replies! happy gaming everyone!

Some updates.

- Steam sound issue has been fixed.
- Autopatching issue will be dealt with this afternoon. Basically, you will have to download manually the patches but it will work at least.
- Content lock should be solved this afternoon as well. It has to be dealt with server side. So no futher patching for the client.

It's been a while since this was posted so those issues are probably long fixed by now.

Thanks Elvin.....does this mean that we can install patch 2.1 without having to reinstall the whole Heroes VI?

So me and Hermes checked out the Dungeon magic in duels and as i thought they fare pretty badly vs Haven might. The main problem is that the units are fragile especially the magical dmg dealers and i manage to kill off Eyes before their second turn (pressed attack on archers plus griffs).

Oh and Hermes: sry for the trouble and delay. My game crashed and then crashed again during launching and i tried to invite you to channel to explain that but i couldn't.

Things to consider:
- maybe eyes have to be put into invisibility as early as possible. Their abilities: +15% dmg and -20%/-20% dmg (abysses dweller) are so key that without them its an uphill battle
- i don't think you had to rush so early
- ice armor > stone skin ALWAYS | weakness > stone skin almost always, don't use stone skin when you have access to better spells

Well, Stone Skin reduces both Might and Magic damage, right?

What i'm worried about in duels is vs. Necropolis. The undead are basically immune against everything that Dungeon has.

Hmm, you're probably right on Stoneskin.

But what about Weakness versus Ice Armour?
I'm 99% sure that atleast Weakness reduces both Might&Magic damage.

the first crashed occurred during a duel, the game stopped responding so i used task manager to shut it down. Then i quickly proceeded to relaunching the application maybe too fast. I only saw a black screen indicating the game was loading but never got to ubisoft logo or any image, just black screen.

Yeah nice playing with you, surely learned few lessons.

Did not remember their abysses dweller ability...
I like stone skin now that its working. Need to check what is really more effective, and no as far as I know stone skin is only for might damage as well.

Biggest issues to me are:

-Eyes dying to easily. Yes I could put them into invisibility but griffins would dive on their position anyway
-Havens healing and resurrection, plus abundance of might creatures against my lack of magical creatures..
-dont know how to spec. I want to use reputation abilities, but they are very situational and you really want dome other spells as well..

I will play around with my builds

p.s. still think that BD are too weak

Haven might doesn't have resurrection and its healing can't be compared to your blood spells- mass agony, fireball to name a few. Might player can't close the gap and keep healing - you are magic hero after all.

Hermes, maybe try putting invis on Lurkers and maybe griffs will miss. Test it !!
Anyway NamelessOrder plays haven only and you didn't know what your hero spec. does. It is new faction for you - don't rule out Dungeon and call it weak , maybe its tactics need more elaboration. Hermes, keep the creative spirit.

in duel there are only upgraded units so griffs we are talking about are the upgraded version - they don't return, they do area dmg

they might not be the best vs might, but overall its too early for me to say that they are weak. Dmg-wise they are like pit lords and cyclops, great/best passives, so-so special ability

yes weakness reduces both might and magic dmg but i was comparing spells to stone skin. In might vs might duels i'd still choose ice armor over weakness (mass).
The great thing about weakness is that you can cast it on the main dmg dealer of your enemy which is very effective and reduces dmg by sth like 50% which is sometimes very useful.

Natalka: stone skin should also protect from magical dmg otherwise the spell is really underpowered comparing to alternatives: weakness and ice armor (but imho still better than celestial armor).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't both stoneskin and ice armor strictly physical shields, not magical? Or did they change that with the 2.1 patch? As I recall the only magical defence boosts were celestial armor and the fire shield which also burns attackers. Ice armor just had the "chilled" ability over stoneskin, and the other gave a fixed amount on defence (ie +40 def) while the other gave a percentage value (+32% for example).

I like what they've done with the expansion, although a third necro campaign (if you count' Sandro's as one) irritates me a bit. It's not THAT good a faction to play with.

Also the newly added bugs have stopped me from finishing any of the previous campaigns, and starting the new ones. For example they managed to bug the dynasty weapons out again, well, some of them atleast. What other little surprises would be in store for me I wonder, if I continued playing them? It's not fun I tell you, to find out on map 2/3 that you wil have to pay twice the amount of mana for your air/fire/whatever spells for the rest of your campaign. Thank god I was planning on redoing them anyway. Now I just have to wait for a few fixes for that to happen. Skirmish until then.

stone skin / ice armor / weakness

stone skin gives dmg reduction from might

weakness gives dmg reduction from might and magic BUT less percents (mass version)

ice armor gives might defence bonus BUT it is equal to the reduction from stone skin

Ofc ice armor is the best no doubt here!

So depending on your faction you can choose between a 5 turn spell or a 4 turn spell with chilled effect or you can reduce magic dmg also but overall protection will be weaker.

So stone skin is not absolutely trashy imo!

in h6 v. 1.8.0
the protection from mass stone skin = the reduction from mass weakness

i haven't checked in SoD 2.1.0

weakness works on both might and magic dmg  and thus is much better spell than stone skin (which only works vs might and the reduction is the same although stone skin should work on pressed attack and power of the horde while weakness won't so it depends)

-------------

One day when they fix almost all the bugs and we start talking about balance we should make a thread about reducing dmg spells:

stone skin / ice armor / weakness / celestial armor / stand your ground / evasive maneuvers
