Hi ,
SOD is a Stand alone Expansion with 2 new campaigns and maps. What kind of content is included from previous original VI?
Can I play original 5 campaigns ?
Scenario maps?
As i read here some of people who bought SOD also got original HOMMVI added to their steam. Is this normal or temporari compensation due to SOD being unavailable and will later be removed ?
Steam curently has a sale on HOMM stuff and i was woundering if i should buy HOMMVI Gold in order to get full Story or I can buy SOD and play previous campaigns before testing the 2 new ones / dark elves.

I have a question: should the "Chilled" effect caused by Snow Maiden's attack be combined with the effect provided by Stalker's shot? I attacked an enemy Minotaur Guards stack with my Snow Maidens and Stalkers, but its speed was reduced just by 1 (supposed to be 2?). Here is the screen. Minotaur Guards' basic speed equals 5.

Quirk of H6, only one movement-affecting effect can be active at a time. Guess it should count as a bug, but it's been like this since the closed beta IIRC.

I remembered that it is not possible for a movement bonus to coexist with a movement debuff but I wasn't sure about combination of debuffs. I could swear I'd seen some being cumulative but my relation with H6 has been on and off for a long while..

I am somehow glad I didn't yet have the time to launch the patch and download SoD ... and I guess I will take a few more days to enjoy Neverwinter Online before bothering with SoD, considering the current mess .

All I can say is - wow ;D
Got home to my freshly installed H6+SoD on Steam(I had uninstalled the game yearsterday due to some sudden slowdown, worked it out today - it was the Antivirus) just ran the game, unlocked Shades of Darkness and everything just worked. Cant fault anything at all. I LOVE the expansion. Totally. So far in the middle of a second map of the Elven campaign, and its very immersive and fun. I find the story and dialogues much much better now. And funnier  Dungeon is becoming my favorite faction, well may be together with my all time H6 favorite Haven 
I think Virtious has done a tremendous job, content-wise. Just have a look at reputation abilities and new dynasty weapons! They have brought back many familiar spells/techniques and added some new.

I'm glad you enjoy it Hermes, and you're a breath of fresh air.
As I said I uninstalled everything yesterday on account of the rumours and guessed that I'd just install the Stand-alone SoD. Turns out it doesn't realy work that way, so I'm now redownloading the whole shebang.
But thank you, for holding a light at the end of my tunnel.

Besides losing my saves and not being able to play custom vanilla maps everything is OK.

I pre-ordered the expansion on Steam, and the expansion showed up in my library. Shades of Darkness was waiting for me, possible to download the moment it would be released!
But today there is no longer Shades of Darkness in my library, only button called "Install Might & Magic Heroes VI". (I installed my H6 16 moths ago, from a disc).
Do you know if pushing this button will install the expansion as well? And the patch?
