Emerald tower

I've found some problems with the code on the Emerald Tower.

For me is one of the major features from WoG so would like to take a look.

If someone fells he can be of any help or can use some help, please reply.

Care to elaborate? Because right now it looks like going to doctor and saying "something hurts me but I won't tell where".

@I answered to your both mails but came back, email not available. I was saying that creatures turned undead in this way can't be resurrected but animated, which looks correct to me. About morale and blind, I don't know, need some time to test.

i havent been using emerald tower for a while, today i gave it a shot. is my memory playing tricks on me, i thought when we bought new specialties with mithril we were able to see them in writing somewhere. how do we know if the opponent turned his crusaders into undead, or they have mind immunity etc etc... also, if i change 5 pegasi into X, then add 800 normal pegasi to the stack, what happens? is there a quantity limit to the new abilities?

I am glad it was nerfed for Era, it was way too powerful without AI using it. There are four reasons you should look for one of those towers, and here is the order:

a) attack twice
b) attack all around
c) no retaliation
d) increase damage

Don't lose your time with immunities, change to undead of other useless things. If you have the mithril, buy a-c then go for d to all remaining towers. The abilities bought in this way are not listed in creature info, but all creatures of that type will change, there is no "my pegassis" are better than the rest of pegassis.

So don't buy abilities for archangels if your opponent has more angels than you because you sign your doom.

i guess if most of the map is in darkness it is not wise to use it then. the undead future may com in handy if you have no ressurection  but animate dead, its cheaper too. if its a mixed group no morale penalty etc... but yes it wouldnt be my first choice neither except very unique situations. the thing is how do you tell if someone turned his creatures to undead if there is no creature info. you'll try to cast blind on them and think there is a bug in the game when it does not work.

I never saw any bug with emerald towers, as many custom maps use them. In general, if blind does not work, there may be several reasons: he has pendant of sight, badge of courage or red orb, or they are undead or battle is on cursed ground. Or simply they have immunity to mind spells, which is common in wog.

In era each tower can be visited only once, hence the luxury of buying all abilities is past time now. Still on xxl templates you can upgrade your 7th level to a true killer within 8-10 towers.

ok bad example, let me try another one, i have many archangels, opponent turns all archangels undead, suddenly i am unable to resurrect my own angels. how do i know whats going on?

It is not that hard to see if one creature is undead or alive. Morale icon should specify that, bless and blind will not work etc.

Aha! I now remember where the writings were. Notice when you advance your creatures their names change. If you make them fire immune mages become Watery Mages, Pegasi attacking all adjent become Ferocious Pegasi and so on...

And when you choose to give your vampire lords attack all around you pay the mithril and several of them to the tower and their name also change...

(in TDS is described that all around cant work with life drain)

I was going to list all the name changes according to the specialties but then i noticed they don't always change into the same thing. It's not random too, lets say you give your dragons "Attack all around" specialty. The dragons can be now called Ferocious, Circular or Whirlwind Dragons.

I suggest to change the script so that each specialty has a single name. This way we can easily recognize them on the battlefield. Besides some of the names are really stupid like +18 Damage= Sharp and Pointy Dragon. What are they pencils!

Two more suggestions about the Emerald Tower.

1- Used Emerald Towers's info on the map should display as "Emerald Tower (Visited)" like windmills. Otherwise you visit them again and again, especially in XL and XXL maps.

2- Maximum number of creatures that can be enchanted should be 24 or 30, not 12.

Not recently, at least not in Wog Revised mod, here's a screenshot from a test map, i just visited emerald tower, enchanted those blood dragons and as you can see in the bottom of the map it still writes "Emerald Tower" only, no "(Visited)"

They always display as visited in my games. Try it once without HD mod, just to see if any problem from.

WoG revised has no update for towers.
