tap water versus bottled water

First I love the series (even if it is not produced anymore)..but this one was special.  Shows just how much perception is reality...

Love Penn and Teller BS..they do make you think.

That was well spent 30 minutes.

It is absolutely undeniable that your environment and furniture arrangement has a direct but subtle effect on yourself but there are no fixed scientific laws and every person or animal is effected differently. It is the same as with auras. It is not an actual energy thing yet very real in a very subtle way. A non-naive person would trust himself or someone with good aesthetic sense with furniture arrangement rather than some super expensive supernatural home stylist. Calling feng shui scientific is like calling scientology scientific.

I can safely assume that very few americans regularly drinks bottle water instead of tap water right? I would only drink bottle water if I am in a foreign country or it is bubble water and bottle water is luke warm and taste like liquid air. Tap water on the other hand is delicious and taste like the image of an arctic stream, fresh and mineralish. To be fair, tap watter can taste different depending on location. In my experience I tend to find bottom floor tap watter tastier and more fresh. It is probably a plumbing thing.

Bottled water is a good thing to have even if you live in certain parts of the US. The water isn't always as good as it should be. Sometimes a water filter is sufficient, but in either case bottled/filtered water is better than what comes out of the tap.

GunFred the bottled water industry is a multi BILLION dollar a year industry in America.  In many cases it is just tap water in a plastic bottle, but the names and images used suggest it comes from much 'purer' sources.  As Penn and Teller suggest, much of the different taste is purely because people EXPECT it to taste different.

As for Penn and Teller..they cover many MANY different things that make one think.  Just review some of their other videos on youtube.  Just search for Penn and Teller ((Then spell out the less polite word for bull dung)).  They only have 7 seasons worth of material .  Plenty to see.  Of course most of it is not safe for work..so there is cursing and such.  However, it is ALWAYS entertaining.

Seriously?! Wow, that huge amount of money and effort could have been used for something actually useful. I think I am going to watch a few more episodes to entertain myself while eating but it will probably be like watching Captain Obvious.

These kind of show have the problem that they merely present statements from what the viewer is to believe are experts. I.e. it's entirely founded upon authority. Therefore it follows any statement the viewer did not already believe in, unless easily convinced otherwise, the viewer will simply disagree with.

In other words, this is more like a yes-sayer show than an actual way of insight. After all, there's little difference between having a board who always agrees with you and not having a board at all.

It is an entertainment show, and should only be viewed as such.  If you believe everything you are told without doing your own research..then you definitely should not watch these shows.  If you want to be entertained, and get one side of a story to compare to the other side of a story..then they are good fun

Just to note - I've seen several of these different bottled water.  Many of them do indeed cite (in semi small print among a bunch of other things) "Bottled from a Municipal Source" Ie it is TAP water. Yet those same bottled waters are seen as 'purer and safer' then the tap water they were bottled from.  Makes sense huh?

In other regions of the world, mainly economically poor countries, bottled water may be more safe to drink.

You really have no idea. Maybe you should live in a economically degenerated countries before claiming a thing you claimed.

I can assure you, bottled water is even less or equal in terms of "Quality" to tap water in these places.

Not all municipal sources are equally good. I live in Kansas City, where the tap water is fine to drink. When I lived in Oklahoma, the municipal government regularly sent us notices about how some chemical in the water supply exceeded the legally allowed limit - and bottled water tasted better anyway.

Bottle Water taste better than tap water? That is crazy talk. I never drink water from a glass or a bottle because it becomes lukewarm and still. Tap water is as cold as you want it, flowing and you can consume it much quicker than you can consume water from a bottle or a glass. I think evolution made us prefer running water before drinking from a puddle for survival reasons. But of course decent bottle water is going to taste better in a place with awful tap water.

The farm I grew up on, our water piping came directly from the mountain stream and it tasted like pastoral sex. The taste of city water can vary tremendously depending on the municipal, but it's never been as good as home. Of course, the water piping from the stream had more... shall we say... flavor. For various reasons Vitamins, minerals.... protein. All that good stuff that one would expect from a fresh mountain stream.
