Since when do you need to be strong to break a ceasefire? All you need to do is attack. The damage you made is irrelevant. If there's an alarm in the town and everyone has to run for shelter and interrupt their lives because you launched a rocket, then you broke the ceasefire even if the rocket fell just outside the town.

You can't bring down a tank with throwing rocks either. A ceasefire works in the same way. And I am not saying that Israel should do the stupid thing and imitate Ghandi, because that would be silly, stupid and dangerous.
The best part is that if you follow legal stupidity, Hamas can't break the ceasefire because its not their rockets. At the same time, Israel also breaks the ceasefire to retaliate, which is ironic considering they are the side with enough firepower to break the ceasefire.
You have 2 options:

1. Negotiate ceasefire, and shrug it off, like a mature human being. THEN proceed to negotiate peace.

2. Wipe Gaza off the map and settle the entire area. If the international world had possessed muscles, we would have quite a few people from both sides sentances to death for war crimes. They don't.

Once the conflict is actually settled, people will forget about it in a few years because there is nobody to spread the word anyhow. Even if there is a Genocide, it will be forgotten like most of them was.
Even if option 2 happens, Israel will just shrug it off, because, again: The international community is a skeleton without a spine, not a active force that gets things done.

Some of the rockets are actually Hamas'. And if it isn't, the current ceasefire agreement will surely spread to any fire coming from Gaza. So, if there's a rocket flying from Gaza into Israel it will be considered as a break of ceasefire regardless of who fired it and what damage did it make. Of course, if it's some renegade group that fires it and Hamas takes action to stop them, Israel would have no problem letting it fly. But anything else should, in my eyes, be met with severe counter actions. If it won't, the fire will just keep escalating with time like it did since the "Cast Lead" operation in 2008 and will eventually place Israel in a position where it has to conduct a high intensity attack like the one that just ended.

Here is the thing: Ceasefires go both ways. If you wanted to, let the other side fool around, don't break it yourself, don't renew it, and wipe the other country off the map once its over.
It wouldn't be bad, now would it?

To the best of my knowledge the ceasefire isn't time-limited. It will go on until one of the sides breaks it.

Ceasefires has expiry dates. Half the reasons they are "renegotiated" is because it has ran out, so they need another one.
There is no such thing as "no date of expiry" in international politics. The only exception is annexation.

Ceasefire is an agreement. If no expiry date was agreed on, then there is no expiry date. Not all international agreements have expiry dates. Is there an expiry date on peace treaties?

Depends on the treaty. It has actually been done quite a few times. The lease of Hong Kong is a good example of such a "Peace Treaty", Treaty of Versailles is another one. It also depends on if its border redrawing or a bound ceasefire, or just another nation enforcing a trade treaty trough war.
In contracted work you also have the same set of definition. You might work in one occupation for one firm your entire life on contract, but it was still renewed each X period of time.

Interesting. But there is a difference between "no such thing as no date of expiry" and "date of expiry has been done before".

You got me there Antipaladin. You have revealed the secret renaissance swede within me that wish to invade and conquer my neighbours and murder anyone guilty of insubordination. I can almost visually see my credability in this thread fly away. Not even if Israel mass murdered all palestinians (which would never happen) would I be able to criticize Israel due to my now less secret dark desires.

But just you wait. I will bide my time and lay low and eventually you guys will forget about my dark desires and hypocracy. And when you do I will reappear as the neutral and peace loving swede I seem to be and I will spread my lies to all corners of the world.

Moahahahahahaha!!!

thats excally the kind of sence that your other posts make
see its all metter of prospective.
from palastinens or israel's point of view each one is just. from yours as well. there is no right or wrong, but life, which is very grey. and i dont mean shades of grey i mean life as it is. the rules of war are the way it is reposted in the media as such we can only fight in this war of press with explantion but it occures to me that it is also pointless. i think israel must stop scumbing itself to pressure from outside.
when russia nearly ate georgia and the world did not aprove
did they care?
when kosvo self declared birth destroyed serbias was capitol did anyone care? excactly ! we shouldnt either.
truth is though that if we will continue we are on the path of self destruction by probbly ourselfs.
untill we are unifite enought to do any action we are unable to continue our self rightous crusade for existence.
and with that i sum up my posts in this entire thread and continue no longer to post as it seem meaningless in my eyes and probbly in yours too.
ill continue spaming the community though
