strange things happen...

I turned the TV on a few minutes after I woke up (05:30) and guess what was on? ...the Smurfs...  eek! ...quickly I started zapping and bumped on a Voltron episode ...for old times' sake I watched it and then switched to another channel... joy joy... He-Man was on, after that, they showed Inspector Gadget, not really up to it, I switched channels again and found Bravestar, then Transformers (Rodimus Prime era) ...since I didn't like the episode that much, I switched again... guess what, Thundercats were almost over and after a few seconds, i was watching Silverhawks ...when that was over, I switched channel again but this time I saw a hideous thing... Teletubbies "shudders" ...needless to say i turned the TV off...

now I know why younger generations are a bit ..disturbed

If I could turn back time (to 80s)

- I would videotape every episode of the Voltron

- I would sell my soul to Satan for money, and would not miss a single concert of the bands like Posion, GNR, Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden...... (the list goes on)

- I would again sell my soul to satan to become a rockstar

- I would grow my hair long when I was 13

- I would not miss that chick

-------------------------------------------------

"If I Could Turn Back Time"

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way I'd take back those words that hurt you and you'd stay

I don't know why I did the things I did
I don't know why I said the things I said
Love's like a knife it can cut deep inside
Words are like weapons they wound sometimes.

I didn't really mean to hurt you
I didn't wanna see you go
I know I made you cry, but baby

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you and you'd stay
If I could reach the stars
I'd give them all to you
Then you'd love me, love me like you used to do

If I could turn back time

My world was shattered I was torn apart
Like someone took a knife and drove it deep in my heart
You walked out that door I swore that I didn't care
But I lost everything darling then and there

Too strong to tell you I was sorry
Too proud to tell you I was wrong I know that I was blind, and ooh...

What would I do in the 1980's?

Place a bet on the winners of the FA cup, League, and World cup for the entire decade and see what kind of odds I'd get. Of course with my inside knowledge I'd arrive in this decade a millionaire

Well, OT can rate threads now.  Maybe if you're really nice to him in the bath thread, he'll up this one's ranking.

So now that the oppresive 80's are over, optimus prime and ultra magnus can finally realize all that repressed love they had for each other.  (I mean really, who did they think they were fooling with all of that excessively macho posturing?)

As one who lived his prime (adolescence) in the 80's all I got to say is that the 80's were rad  I've often felt sad for those who lived their primes in the 90's.  The 90's were drab and depressing.  But then I guess every generation thinks there decade was the best....the only difference is in this case I am right

Heck I still live my life as if the 80's never ended...lol.

I loved big hair...had some huge hair in the day

Unfortunately if I still relied on my bottles of hair spray I might scare small children....but I still have long hair....may it live forever  My skin tight jeans...would most likely tear in half as I have gained that very masculine and sexy tube around my midsection.  Leather...well I love my leather jackets  Spikes....now that I am a father...I just can't get myself to wear my spikes anymore  LONG LIVE THE 80's  I figure I give it another 10 years and I will be back in style...lol.

Yeah I actually can write something that doesn't involve politics or religion

Wow Dargon, you just lost all Republican cred.  You're supposed to have a crew cut and complain about the "goddam hippies."  I knew you were a closet democrat.

LOL...yeah that is the stereotype....you wouldn't believe how many of my long haired heavy metal friends are republicans

Hippies are the 70's and they are a god forsaken bunch of liberals...lol

Actually, it's terrifying how many heavy metal (and, for that matter, punk) folks are Republicans.  I've always been convinced it's because of a desire for lower cigarette taxes.

ROFLOL....you may have a point

As you know I am a republican for many more reasons than decrying sin taxes...even though I do partake in cancer sticks (smoking is really a quite utilitarian act in that we pay all the taxes and yet don't live long enough to suck up all the federal benfits in old age...in fact every true patriotic and caring american should take up smoking just for that reason alone..haha).  Most of my republican friends don't smoke though.

Ironic Bort how you and I can change an 80's thread into a semi political dialogue...lol.

When i think of the 80's, i think of a picture of myself taken when i was about 9 years old. I was wearing this purple velour shorts/jumpsuit thingy. I was so covered in Michael Jackson buttons, you could hardly see that shiny stylin'  outfit. I remember i was so proud, i had more buttons than my best friend Becky.

*Gotta call mom and make sure she burns that picture *
