I wonder how a Heroes VII game would turn out if Ubisoft brought people like the Horn of the Abyss etc modding groups into the development team...

In the meantime I believe a second expansion is possible, and I hope it will have at least two factions. Why would they bother with all this lore on M&M site in the first place if that was not the case (more factions I mean)? Plus I think that BH left some code leftovers which can serve as a base for at least the Academy faction...

And they do have a purpose in keeping the franchise alive, because in Eastern Europe countries (for instance) turn based strategy games is still a popular niche (generating € of course)...

I cannot help but to think of this when I see complaints about art in the expansions.

(Myself, I don't care much about. I Liked Heroes 5, once properly modded, the best of all games)

I've said it in another place... H6 was dead and to make sure it stays that way "now" they planted a stake in its heart.

Flame me if you want for pointing out only the negative parts, but you have to be naive to still believe anything good will happen to this game now that it is confirmed they changed developers once again...

Yeah this game still has potential. What I find being it's biggest flaw is the lack of content, and specifically the lack of factions/units/possibilities. There's just not enough variety, and choosing the same skills and fighting the same elementals with the same core units is just plain boring. And let's face it, each next Heroes game is more of the same, so either give us new interesting mechanics or enough units or combinations to experiment on for dozens of hours.

To sum it up, the core game is not bad, but lacks substance.

By making expansions, and at least trying to bring things that fans want like user-friendly map editor etc this game can still be great.

True, but I think most of Heroes fans are traditionalist, so they will want a good'ol Heroes of Might and Magic formula game instead of some web browsing thingies which I find silly at most... I may be wrong, but I'm not predicting a success for those games.

I haven't flooded the thread or forum, I just had a short post about my thoughts after reading the QA. It is my opinion that changing once again the developer proves that H6 is dead in HUGE trouble as development goes and there is little hope to get anything else then cosmetics or breadcrumbs from finishing stuff already started by the Hungarians.

And just a quick  heads up. when the release will happen. You will most likely see another criticizing post from my side.

Until then, I hope Santa brings me English HotA for X-Mas or a hot Russian babe who can translate for me.

Time has a way of making people forget and forgive, which is understandable.
But you can't deny that Ubisoft have made themselves open to ridicule with the way they handled anything H6, both before, during and after release.

I remember, back in the day (when they weren't such a moloch on the gaming scene), that I didn't like Ubisoft games, because they always caused some problems for my PC like game crashes, installation errors etc.

So you can only guess how I felt when I heard that Ubisoft is taking over my beloved franchise. I thought like "Heroes lives! By why Ubisoft, oh why?

I know that many people had good experiences with Ubi's games, they made some beloved franchises like AC, but in my book Ubisoft was always a troublemaker, and it seems, after all this years, some things don't change

Not short.. but lets say... pinned down...
At one point you try to talk to such people.. you get angry or even mad. But as time goes.. all this things start to get repetiv and you just do not want to read all the same things from all the same poeple. I repeat myself aswell but I try to do something. Right now, I'm extracting texts from the game to update our fansite with Heroes VI. And if many of you think the game is bad, try to look at the czech translation.. It's one big headach.

Throught the last year, I became rather lax not only about people on the forums, but to anything about the game. Its just that anything is done you heat the same words, the same opinions, the same people say they hate everything anybody does, its a pure hatefest. But I do not want any hate, I want some information about my favorite franchise, and then see, how the people that work on it can manage their work. Unitl I'm one of such people, or have a project of my own, I can't tell them what to do. Only purpose some ideas. But I se no use in the constat whining.
I Know there are problems, and everybody has different priorities in them, but belive me, the more "I LOVE Heroes III" coments I read, the more "Remake Heroes III, Go back to Heroes III, You'll never do anything as good as Heroes III" coments I see, the more hatefull coments people write on any step that ubi makes, makes me feel sad. And actually discurages me from playing Heroes III, just like hearing how Harry Potters great stoped me from ever reading the books.

The community around the Heroes games are such spoiled and thankless people that I feel sorry for all the people who work on the game, and have to read the same trash over and over.

To tell the truth, I haven't seen a lot of whining here as of late, so I don't really know why people brought that up all of a sudden.
In fact, up until recently, there hasn't been much of anything here at all...

So have I, mainly because I've stopped caring about the franchise.
I mean, I still check for updates from time to time, but when there are news I'm like "Oh, okay, cool". Nothing worth making a fuzz about really.

Not to start something or anything, but if those people feel that everything about H6 feels supbar compared to what they are used to, why should they be thankful?
And how are they spoiled? The DLC cost money, obviously.

Point one.. I was not talking about Heroescommunity only. Mainly about the official ways. especialy facebook

Point three.. by thankless I was talking not about "How they view the game" but how the react to any changes in it. And also. how they usually attack the devs/owners when something is not to their liking.... Maybe I should focuse on other communities aswell, I'm not a member of many of them. But its just the feeling I have

No wonder. Most of the people, except die hard fans, have already forgotten about Heroes VI. The reasons have been talked about many times before (to sum it up bugs, lack of content, lack of support, difference between what was expected and what was in the game).

There are not many people like Dave_Jame who are still willing to invest their time in this game. Most will say ''just get over it" and play another game/past Heroes game.

The expansion is the only chance to draw some attention, but let's face it, chances that it will change much are low.

Personally, I'm eagerly awaiting for the expansion, because I will never waste a chance to play a turn-based strategy game, especially if it has Heroes, Might and Magic in it's name

Was about to refrain from posting in H6 section until release. But here a short response to your harsh comment:

You should be sorry for those who pre-paid 50 Euros! for the promise that they will continue work on H6. And what do the weasels do? They hide the fact that the developer goes bankrupt just to sell some more... And how is handled inside UBI? The main responsible gets promoted... go figure.
