i gought the game 2 times now. first edition then seperate expansion then gold edition. Trying to trick ubi to build on this game as long as it takes to try and flesh things out further and add way more depth to it.

Its pretty senseless to start all over while the base game is here they just need to add allot of depth back in and keep selling those complete editions.. to have an expanded userbase everytime. my 2 cents

if they actually fix stuff in expansions it could work, look at H5:Tote

and the base is good enough to last for some time imho

Sadly, this doesn't look like TotE. For TotE we had the same developer working on the game for several years, while this time we had the third studio working on the game, and it doesn't look like a big studio either...

Well I'm not that skeptical. Maybe the people from the new studio are "craftsman" but the guidelines and the most important decisions are made by people who worked on (or with) the game from the beginning...

But they have to learn game code before adding things, while if it was the original studio, it'd be familiar with the code and for sure it'd work quickier, and most likely better.

If Nival had worked on HVI, for sure it'd be more stable, IMO.

It's way cheaper in my opinion to make more expansions with factions that people expect and wanna play than say for example make heroes 7 with 5 factions buggy, unplayable and with low sales. Games that are making good money nowadays are the ones who have been here for a while and just bring new content for money.
What would a new hero game bring after all? Better graphics? Let's be honest people who play this type of game love solid gameplay and diversity not flashy stuff.
So my advice to Ubi is let this game grow bit by bit. They would make more money this way while still improving the end product. I mean heroes 6 right now is ten times better than when it came out.

I swear, change "heroes 7" with "heroes 6", think that we are speaking of TotE instead of H6 and that'd be so much true lol

You, little fanboy...

Stable yes. But with their missed ideas (damn you initiative bar!) I wouldn't be so happy about it.

hey, the initiative bar was a great idea IMO. In HV had the problem of being too much random, but I believe that a polished version could make wonders

That and true!

Why take all the time to build a new codebase where once again we have to wait ages for to fix out all the flaws given ubisoft's trakc record.

They should just hire nival to make the 2nd and third expansions..

hey they switched developers like 2 times already.. three times a charm and I believe if nival is at the helm allot of HOMM fans regain their thrust given trackrecord with homm V thus sales....

let's give the new guys a chance

they may be not too bad, and then just push the couple of dlcs and maybe an expansion and see where things are...

the good thing is we are moving in roughly right direction (but got to admit that on release every direction was right )

The idea maybe was good (sth fresh), but seeing enemy Nightmares running around the battlefield crippling your forces took all the fun away in an instant

And about Nival, they had their chances. Many say they made a good game (especially with TotE), I say it was not bad (still my least favorite from the Heroes series), but all in all they didn't deliver for me so no thank you...

I told you that it was far from perfect, that's why I said about a polished version.

About Nival working on an expansion for HVI....NO.

I guess a second expansion would depend of how Shades of Darkness sells - if it's sells well, we'd probably have another expansion. If not, they'd move to HVII I think...

The best news we could have'd be starting to make HVII with a good studio and good plans, having the VIPs a higher role over the design so the community could be heard.

Quote:
The desert orcs and Shanriya nagas are an intriguing possibility. The latter are ice-themed Tibetan nagas that appeared in duel of champions, I'd love a faction set on snow terrain

Yeah, like old good Wizards <3

I believe in the VIPs as the voice of the community however I deeply hope the VIP's didn't steer HOMM VI to oversimplification away from the adventure map and towards a competitive multiplayer game sucking all depth out of what once was a way deeper game with allot more choices and feel of adventure.

It should not be this "one on one multiplayer" game most of the HOMM multiplayer. That is the feeling I have was and is the biggest mistake they ever made with this game. Focys on competitive play taking the soul of the game out. So that's my message to the VIP's.

NOt knowing who was responsible for all those bad choices prob the developer but you never know. The hardest of the HOMM core play multiplayer. The other big core play singleplayer only or hotseat.

Still hope for at least 2 more factions in HOMM VI not from nival then but I miss the core factions soo extremely much.

If the town screen debate said anything, then you would have hated the Nival H6.

I still think it will be academy, even though sylvan was already in the original heroes, academy is more popular I think, not to mention that during HVI you actually see a mage on the map(I forgot his name,he is a necromancer in HV and also classified as a necromancer in HVI,but it is said that he is a mage and he also has a different background on his hero portrait than the other necromancers).

The ashan compendium also included some interesting artworks, that look like they were done for heroes VI,like the rakshasa, the djinn and the gargoyle.(not sure if there are any really interesting artworks for sylvan though)
