Markkur:
I think the real problem there is parents pushing/forcing children to interact with relatives they don't care about. How much value is a child going to get out of interacting with some boring uncle they see once a year at most? If the child doesn't enjoy interacting with an older relative, there's not much you can do to change that - and if the child doesn't like it, why force them to spend time together?Quote: The more machines invade the daily life the more it's machine that dominates thought.
How do they dominate thought?

Who knows? They have been in used since before the first civilizations, so its true. So, one should not ask how, but should rather ask "What was so special about those machines and tools from 1920?"

Sorry, I wasn't clear; touch as in "touch fabric".

Sure, I can give you a snapshot of myself when living at the height of my slavery to machines.
I owned a small farm of 27 acres and each of the following required regular maintenance. Of things with gas-engines; I owned a small farm tractor, wood-splitter for firewood, an old "beater"-4X4 truck for hauling wood and other farm-work, my good truck for street-legal hauling, a car for work, a riding lawn-mower, two push-mowers, two weed-eaters and two chain-saws.
The thing is, all of this was done in my "spare-time" and I've not even mentioned the work in which all were used.

Sounds like technology is doing a lot for you, so it's appropriate for you to think about it. I thought you meant "dominate thought" in a more sinister "mind control" sort of way.

Tech. has and will; I'm disabled. I just felt like "reminding" the younger folks to get away from the "stuff" once in a while, while they can. No crystal ball, just good intentions.
Happy Holidays!
