i am really excited for this! the fonts look amazing and the new creature is amazing.some are so good a new player would not be able to tell the difference between the mod or the original

Man, I played this game for so long and never once did I stop to think about its font the way you did, now I'll never be able to unsee that.

I'm looking forward to this mod. I rarely play works-in-progress and even when a game or mod is out, I can wait several months until all or most of the bugs from the initial release have been squished so, to me, this mod is light years from ever being completed, but I welcome every single updates because of the screenshots and videos those bring, and I cannot wait to see that font in action and the updated units line up (that Tribal looks amazing BTW) and the subterranean environment.

I also hope you'll find a way somehow to fit in a tenth town, I'd hate to see the Heroes II Forge be something else, a different patch, or I'd hate to see it included at the expense of another town, if there's room for the Witch, the Heretic and Gypsy (or Dervish or Vizir), there's room for the Cyborg too. I know in the past I doubted you could make the Cyborg faction fit in Heroes II because it's such a fairy tale-ish game, but you also have the talent to pick and choose elements from Might and Magic I to VI to add a NWC/Jon Van Caneghem vibe to your mod, and I'm a sucker for all things Might and Magic III to VI so, I want the Forge to be included, somehow, along with everything else.

Thank you for such a kind feedback. It makes me feel myself in a something special way while I remember our old debates about the Forge, and I am glad that someone started believing in us even without a direct announcement.

I must note that Heroes 3 The Succession Wars is actually not "light years away" from completion. It certainly has a final point which is approximately known, and we realize that we are actually able to finish it.

The approximate plans for milestone releases can be currently presented as following.

v0.8 beta: First stable release. Redesigned artifact system. Completely redesigned faction hero roster. Redesigned hero system. Completely remade Knight and Dervish townscreens. Completely re-packed map objects and terrains. New Witch castle opera soundtrack. Completely redesigned game menus and interfaces. 10+ our new creatures (in static form) to replace the placeholders of old versions. Severely revised (if not re-done from scratch) game script file. New mod installation system. Blocked WoG options. Dozens of other new features.
Coming Nov/Dec 2015.

v0.9 beta: Further polishment. Redesigned magic system. Further graphic updates and enrichment of the map list. Final versions of castle lineups, new creature animation. Balance improvements. New Dervish castle opera soundtrack.
Chances to be released: very good.

v1.0: First official complete release. 95% of game graphics presented in final or pre-final development stages. Roland and Archibald's campaigns put for the first campaign section. Final graphic improvements, several new graphic assets, final conversions of Heroes 3 objects. Complete H1-H2-H3 map list + (probably) several new ones with the maximum object diversity. (probably) the ERA minimod concept to replace WoG options completely.
Chances to be released: good.

v2.0. Second official complete release. New objects (Castle-styled Garrisons, Walls, etc., etc.). The Heretic faction. The second campaign section "The Mandate of Heaven" containing new campaigns covering the further storyline of Enroth and featuring the Witch, the Dervish and the Heretic castles. New maps featuring the maximum object diversity. Heretic castle opera soundtrack. (probably) Further development of the ERA minimod concept for gameplay customization options. Further balance improvements.
Chances to be released: medium.

v3.0. Third and final official complete release. New objects. The 10th faction. The third campaign section featuring new campaigns which are to cover the newest history of Enroth. The glorious end.
Chances to be released: unknown.

damn thats really promising! i have a few questions:
1) did you block(all) the wog options because they contradict with the game or because your vision of the game?  
2)any chance of seeing some adapted mod options ?(is this what you mean with "ERA minimod concept to replace WoG options completely")
3)any new secondary skills,spells or "profoand" system changes?
4)whats the relationship between this and vcmi?

and my most "fanboy" question.will we see that death knight unit?

We simply didn't have time to develop them, and they are not presentative. People will get wrong impression about the project.

What we plan to do is to devise a new ERA minimod concept so any WoG option or other mod could be "official compatible minimod" so people would be able to experience new gameplay without garbage in the main menu. More info shall follow later.

New Secondary skills are not planned.
New Spells are a matter of v0.9. We should rearrange the spell system first, and then we will be able to decide if we are to invent new spells (like Haunt) or not.
Some Secondary Skill effects will be carefully manipulated.

I don't see any sense in porting the project to VCMI because a) the project is incomplete and b) VCMI is unplayable. Perhaps in future the situation will change.

I don't know what Kivo thinks about it, but I still plan to make the Vampire a strong lvl4 creature, making the new Black Knight for lvl5. The draft for the Black Knight is based on MMVI Cuisinart, traditionally. I'll get back to it later.

Orzie, could you explain it a bit more? So, in upcoming version, how will battles looks like with those creatures? Is "static form" mean that they will lack some of their battle animations or world map animations?

Yes in 95% of cases. That water mill is not made in 3D. 3D renders are a bit different thing, dude.

This means that they will lack animations for v0.8. Perhaps some (like the Toad) will have partially completed animations. We are lacking time to make them all for the upcoming release; the graphics will be updated and improved in the next versions (e.g. v0.9 and 1.0).

We will have our own harpies, black knights, catoblepi and treants.

The Cyborg class is currently an exclusive for Project Ironfist. It might appear in H3SW in unpredicted future, but currently we don't have such intentions.

I must note that we are not making a mapmakers' instrument. We are a project with its own agenda, concept and style, perhaps similar to HotA in some way. We can have optional objects and portraits, but we will include only polished and officially accepted examples.

orzie, your promo screenshots are incredibly amazing. I've always wanted to play remake of HoMM 2 with new features. Thanks to you and your team it can become reality.

I love new units you presented, as well as modified (to fit HoMM 2's graphics) adventure map.
