Loved...

http://armorgames.com/play/6086/loved

Its a short platformer thats you can finish in 10-20 minutes.
If you find the time, play it.
And then come back and tell me what you think.

I have got some clues, not initially, but after reading about it, what its all about.
Of course I could be making a thing out of no content but its an interesting discussion.

I want to wait till more people try it out, if not. I will try to explain.

There is another game I will show, it is similar except that it will be more obvious and requires Half Life 2 to play...unless of course you watch it in Youtube and watch all the possible choices.

Since three people replied(Huge success!), I will elaborate what it is all about.

You see how the game constantly tells you how to do things which you would not want to do and calls you ugly or disgusting when you do what it says or when you dont do it?

At first, it seems like a psycopath is talking to you.

The game changes the usual formula of games which tell you to "Do this, take that, fetch this" by telling you to do things which are mostly against your ego or reasoning. It even uses harsh language.

Its a perversion of the Player-Narrator interactions. Mostly, every game tells you "Great job, after fetching something" or you get a reward. In this game, you get nothing and get punished for not oing so.
You can fail all the things the narrator says, except the last one "Do not fail". Since you constantly respawn, the only way to fail the last "Order" is to stop playing.

Another possible explanation is that the game plays on the relationship of God and its subject or a parent his/her child.

In this case, God-Parent, tells you to do things which you hate, tells you you are worthless but in the end it still "Loves" you.
Would you respect that type of god-parent? More or less, it makes you a child for disobeying since the narrator knows what is best for you.

It seems like a leap of faith what I am saying but, at least to me, its reasonable.

In other words, the game is testing how much you are able to resist a cruel being, just so as to make it easier for you to achieve your task.

Now, if you have Half Life 2,
you should check this Mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-stanley-parable

If you dont have it, you can watch its playthrough:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gblvOhnv2k0

Stanley parable requires no explanation. Its quite philosophical.

The game was certainly artistic and maybe even beautiful in a strange way.

Armorgames is the best minigame website!
