Whats up with that?

I will never understand why some people get incensed
when the other guy plays with the whole game instead of just a little piece that you understand. Why have a battle at all?? Just gather up some troops, compare stats and declare a winner.

The complete Heroes game includes Wraith Bombs and the Cloud of Darkness! It allows you to only play Crag Hack or Isra if thats your comfort zone and you can find someone who is willing to play you. ONE IS NOT MORE HONORABLE THAN THE OTHER!

Enjoy!! If you lose, get over it and move on. Or.... play single player and you wont have to worry about all those "unfair tactics".

Some of the nicest people here....and some who arent....are the ones who always say they "only play for fun and dont care about the points".... Then yell the loudest when they lose a game. Whats up with that? Be honest with yourself at least... you really want to play for fun AND kick someones butt or its not so much fun anymore.

As always...

Ok, as always a topic has turned into some sort of fight or attack between people.

Id just like to say, no one is perfect, and people make mistakes, but if someone is labeled honorable it goes with 99% of their games. gotta realize people are allowed to get angry, esp if you dont know whats happening behind the scenes for them. I can tell you Ive acted pissed in a game, but only because I had a fight with my friend and tried to play a game to forget it, but instead took it out on my opponent.

But Mocara likes to start the trash talk, and Andi likes to keep it goin, then people take sides, so here is a thought, perhaps stick to the topic? I know its a hard concept to grab ahold of, but I know you can do it! You shoulda just stuck with yer initial comments Mocara, instead of adding the By the way...but then again Im sure you wanted to start an arguement. ok enuff of that, now back to the topic

I gotta say my most Miraculous win was a Nations game vs Antal where we had a super close battle in the middle on Showdown, but he was close to surrendering from battle, and if he did Id have no chance..my only chance was winning right there, and at my last hit b4 it seemed like he'd be surrendering with his last troop, I got morale, killed him, game over...now that was Miraculous.

map: me vs you
me: dungeon
opp: castle

(I dont remember the heroes, it was a game in season2 )

I, as a beginner at those times, built city hall on week1 and the beholders. On week2 day2 I see his main standing in the middle out of my reach with 1 angel. I begin to think how he can get an angel on week2???

When he tells me that he built angels on week1 I think he is crazy

Anyways, seeing that he has only 1 angels I dont care about his main and continue my route (upwards)

Next turn: (ding!) what the??? he has now more troops: archers, griffins, monks and angels all upgraded from the hill fort. And now he is 2 day away from my castle.

I realize that I lost my castle. So I decide to attack his castle (eye for an eye ). And I hide 1 of my scouts into the monolith. He takes my castle on week2 day4 and asks if I surrender. I say "no", I tell him that I will get his castle. He says ok and chains his troops back to his castle but he cant reach it. He is now 2 days away from his own castle and it is day5. On day 6, my scouts comes out of the monolith and takes my empty castle back. Guess what-He built minotaurs-I build the manticores too; and then my main takes his weakly defended castle too. There is no way that he can attack one of the castles before week3day1. And with his remaining troops (he had lost some while getting my castle) it is impossible for him to regain neither his nor my castle which will be defended by the new weeks army.

I offer him a draw- cuz I knew that he outplayed me. But he does not accept and reports his loss.

I learnt how to chain and how to build up in week1 in that game

New argument well I hate to say it but if you are playing a game you should go for the win at any cost, what is he going to do let her win shoot it was a perfect trap & brilliant.
Who gives a crap how bored they get they fell for it now face the wrath.
Especially in the finals I will do what it takes to win at any cost.
If they get bored with it then they can submit their loss right there & then.
People who complain of an honest tactic is a straight up tosser I dont care who it is.
It was not cheating or anything just a win in the finals at any cost & there should be no regrets or complaint in this thread, just gratitude for a perfect trap.

The most mirlacoulous battle i have won is:

I had just taken over my enimies castle because the hero was away, but i was forced out of it and pursued bythier hero,i knew i was done for then i spotted a legion of cerbie, (it was month 7 , we both had big armies) also i had expert diplomactie, so i went to fight them and they joined me, all four thousand 4000. So when i got to my castle, the cerbie pretty fought the battle for me.

wow, lol

So much fuss about a game that was 3 years ago....

I think Aculias, maybe you should read closer as to what was said, not just by me but by Lews... I was more frustrated because i had to go take care of my child, the game was long and  i just wanted it over. And yes i said i hated sitting though the wraith bomb - it was the first time id encountered or even heard of the tactic - and i also said that yes, it is a great move. I would have preferred him to have said, im gonna suck out all your spells, so lets skip that part and just fight with you casting no spells And yes, i said that Lews is a great player - but no there was no complaint at Lews for posting, i was unhappy with Mocara's post. Which i have talked with him about and its done with.

If i was rude to Lews during the game, which i could very well have been i guess i am a 'tosser' or should i say, 'was' a tosser because this game was played in season 1- we did talk afterwards and there was no hard feelings between us.

I guess really that's all that matters.. if you choose to judge me for a game you weren't a part of, during a time when i don't even believe you played - that's just up to you! lol

Please excuse my tossing

DUH! We know that.

You are no better than Andi or I if you come in flaming like that.

And who are you to say what we can talk about and how we have to stay "on topic"?

As you said, you don't even play the game anymore.

But you still play THIS game don't you?

Not very well judging by that last post.

At the expense of turning this into one of "those" threads..
I hate the line "you should do anything you can to get the win"...at the expense of what? having an enjoyable time? getting to know new people? making friends, having a great game? That is such a toss. There are things that irk people in this game, a wraith bomb would be something that would irk the sh1t out of me. Sure its a fair tactic and if someone uses it against me, good luck to em, but dont expect me to cheer em. Honour has nothing to do with what tactics you use in a game, but I'm not gonna congratulate you for hit and running 8 of my titans. I'm gonna be sh1tty for a while, so what? My prerogative, dont dis me about it, I wont bag the crap out of you for doing it.

In the whole of the gaming community, Pan is the one I like playing the most (except maybe midnight lol), why? because we always have a great time and a great game, she doesnt do anything for a win, she would rather have some fun. She does have kids to take care of, so when a 4 hr game keeps her at the comp for 6 hours, then sure she wants to go. I think you know nothing of Pandora, Aculias, and thankfully she isnt one of those "I'll do anything I can to win" type players. I'm sure she could throw 9 hags on a scout to do some battles and active you every turn, just to get some stuff done 2 turns quicker, but that aint the way she plays, and thats why I play her whenever i can. Dont call her a "tosser" when u dont know the facts of the situation. Pan didnt dis Lews for his tactic, she was just bored by it. So play the way you wanna play, and let others play their way without the bullsh1t.

So there

Mrs.pan & Mr.Roller.
I think you missed the point as what I was saying.
I know things were settled & I was speaking in general & to all the replys in this thread.
Mr. Roller all my games are enjoyable & what I was trying to say was you can play for fun but does not mean you have to throw the game away so the other player can have fun.
When I say to win at any cost means you have to do what ever you can if you feel you may be overcome by an opponent even if it does take quite some time.
Remember you can freeze the game in battle mode if something comes up the other player should understand yes.
Every player I played I only played one person that I never talked to & of all the games I played we enjoyed every bit of it.

With all the love in the world let there be peace

Ok, I will start this post by saying that I have brought up the game Pandora played with Lews to many people in what could be considered a "whining" way. I did this becuase if it was me playing that game, it would certainly go down as the least fun game I have ever played in.
Having said that, I have never said it was dishonorable to do this, but it is the type of tactic that I personally find distasteful and would be a quick ticket to my no play list. From what I can tell, among top level players there are 2 distinct philosophies regarding issues such as this. Neiter philosophy is more honorable or a better way to play the game, they are just different.
Player1 believes you should do anything to win the game within the rules. If you are not cheating, what is wrong with using every means at your disposal to try to win? The player1 type player would be disapointed and feel like the game lacked somthing if their opponent did not hit and run them given a perfect opportunity. If a Player1 type player lost to a tactic they did not expect (even if they found the tactic annoying), this would be a great game for them since they were able to learn a new method to turn a loss into a win. A player1 type player will use any means at their disposal to win, and will never whine about their opponent doing the same.
Player2 believes that winning is not necessarily the most important aspect of the game. They believe that if their opponent got luckier with the random elements of the game then they should just accept the loss rather than to try a tactic that might be considered cutthroat. If you stop outside of a Player2's castle with your legion of skels you can be assured that you will not be hit and run.
When Player1 plays Player2 you will tend to have issues and both players will not enjoy the game. Player1 will be looking for and defending against tactics that do not even occur to Player2. Player1 will fins the game not as fun becuase they will feel that Player2 is not playing to the best of their ability. Player1 will not enjoy the game much either if player 2 is allowed to do anything they like(within the rules of course). Player1 will have a miserable time if they lose to a tactic that they find "cheap" after feeling that they played the map better.
It has been my experiece for the most part that Player1 likes open maps and Player2 likes closed maps.
So if it is whining oh well, but when I see a Player2 type of player I will continue to "warn" them about the Player1's out there. This will liekly make for more enjoyable games by all.
so there

You´re right Yawacko. But can you, or anyone else, explain me, why you rather get killed by random map elements than by a tactic? It´s hard for me to understand this point of view. People say that they hate playing the game for hours and then losing to something sneaky. I agree that there are more enjoyable things in life. But I find it much worse to play for hours in a game that I have already lost on week 1 day 1.

"but when I see a Player2 type of player I will continue to "warn" them about the Player1's out there." - Yawacko

So now that you have systematically boxed everyone into categories and labled them then you can therefor "warn" one type not to play the other.

Is'nt it wonderful that we have someone like Yawacko to babysit for all of us and WARN people not to play us.

Thereby ruining a lot of potentially fun games we could have had.

I think the real fear is that maybe one of these players might actually reallize there is more to the game then wanna-bes like Yawacko would have them believe.

So by WARNING them he not only shows he thinks he is the ultimate judge and jury in regards to who should play who and how people play.

But also that he actually thinks that his lil opinion should be listened to even though he knows NOT ONE THING about the game being played in it's pure form.

A person who only plays a few maps and with rules that limit the game to the extreme is now the brains for all and knows how everyone plays.

You haven't played so many people.

You don't know how people play.

And your attempt to box people in is completely pathetic.

Players like Destro, Frank, myself and many others play silly closed maps on 2 minutes w/no hit and run and we play grandiose maps where the smallest error loses the game.

But the difference is between your player 1 and player 2 types is this;

Player 1(if there is such a thing) is open minded and well rounded.

While YOU are overrated, closed minded and can't play off of your closed maps.

I do not care if you say 'Mocara is mad'...I am not.

You are just a FOOL to say you have players boxed into categories and will warn players not to play player 1 types.

Who the hell are you?

Mind your business.

ill put this in another way: your true form of playing, mocara, is nothing but annoying to many players...
now if those "real heroes players" want to make up for their own lack of skill OR for their philosophie that only a won game is a good game, they trash talk known fair play rules, it as simply as that
this game is still mostly decided by skill, if it wasnt there wouldnt be top players and not so good players. saying if i play with no hit and run and such will make only artis/the hero/the spells decide a game is just a cheap try to hide the own lack of skill, or hiding the "i dont want to loose mentality" and "cant take a beating by luck", that happens from time to time for sure,  "so there"

To mocara:
When I read yawacko's post I find it a sober and thoughtful post in the debate. Basicly I get the understanding that he tryes to contribute to the topic. Now reading yours , simply rings the bell that you are after the man and not the ball. And thats a loss, because I would like to be able to follow the line in your argumentation!

Now basicly, you could say, I do the mistake here to go after the man and not the ball, by adressing you directly, my apoligize for creating that similarity. But the reason for me to get on the scene is that i think that you should be aware, that though you might achive something, you loose me, and I think many others with the wordings in the above post.
