Dorn recoiled a bit from the blow, but recovered quickly and raised his maul to shoulder level. If anyone had the time to look at the dwarf paladin, they wouldn't recognize him. His usual loud-mouthed demeanor was gone, revealing long years of battle training awoken by the appearance of skilled opponents. With grim determination and a short grunt Dorn swung his weapon in a wide arc and brought it down aiming for the monk's pelvis from the side, trying to shatter some much needed bones.

And Jeddite seemed to be getting some kind of vibe from Dorn, as he unslung his quarter staff and used its reach to swing over the dwarf paladin's head, aiming to hit the other monk in the face. If it didn't kill the man, the combined assault would likely at least knock him out.

Miles and the manager make it to mama's. She gives Miles his money, and lets him stay in the room for free for a few days to recover.

Austin, being in the second line, wasn't in the most ideal place to attack with his quarterstaff. That, and his selection of magic spells wasn't too great to attack with either. As such, he decided to do as his monk friend did, and use the staff as a two-handed reach weapon, attempting to strike at whatever might make itself open to such a strike.

Jed causes the monk to duck, but that puts the monk in a very bad position with Dorn's swing. Another monk goes down, and doesn't look like he is getting up. Austin and Jet hit another monk, again causing him to drop like a ton of bricks. Rose heals Arian, and gets in position to heal "G' next round IF it isn't too late. The last monk connects two times with Jet. The group hears a SNAP as the last blow connects with Jets chest, and Jet falls as well.
"J" gets a magic missile of her own off, felling the last monk. The other four in the hall decide to drop Celeste and make a run for it. ((Everybody gets a free action against them, but if you don't take them down NOW they might get far enough to warn others))

The cowards were running, with their back to him, and they did not happen to be monks. Now Jeddite aimed for the head, or more like it the back of the farthest one's head. They seemed to be rather fragile, so that should be enough for that one.

Seeing as there is little time for thinking, Arian threw his dagger at the fleeing group hoping that it'll at least wound and make an enemy fall down.

As the four run past the group, Dorn swings his maul once again. This time he's aiming at the feet of the closest man to him, trying to cripple him rather than kill him.

Jeddite and Arian hit their marks, both fall. One with a dagger protruding from the head. Jeddite's missile also hit the head..with a solid sounding Crack. Dorn's swing took out the legs of a third. Jet and the archer hit the same one (a Different one then Dorn, but they both hit the same target), that one is probably not going to get up either.
As for Celeste, she is finally awake, still dressed in those robes.

Dorn turns the injured man on his back and places the head of his maul on the man's chest. His voice is almost cheerful when he speaks:
"Now can we talk this out?"

Jeddite returned to the Rose's side, Checking to make sure she is not harmed before he looked over at the captive they had rescued. "My lady... shall I attend to their prisoner?" He asked, gesturing to the girl.

Celestine woke up in a haze. She could hear the voices around her but was not able to understand them. She remembered the conversation from earlier about sacrificing her to some demon so she thought that the people around her might be them. Even with unstable legs, Celestine was able to stand up. She turned to the person nearest to her.
“What do you want from me?” she said in a weak though audible voice. “The goddess Mishakal will not allow your evil...”

While everyone else talks to one another, and the interrogation of the enemy is being performed, Austin moves slightly ahead of the group, and casts detect magic, hoping he can get a forewarning of possible incoming magical threats before they appear.

The downed person eyes look..fanatical. "Our numbers are legion, you may have stopped our little group, but Jakel can not be stopped! All will serve the will of Jakel!"
Jeddite
Rose nods "I will take care of Uncle G and Jet. G can make do with a bandage for now, but it will take all the rest of my healing for Jet.." her voice breaks off as if there is something she is not saying.
Silk pales "No, he's too hurt. If you do that you might not survive. HE can survive.."
Rose answers quietly. "You know I have no choice." She takes off her gauntlet and gloves, and touches Jet. Suddenly she doubles over as if in extreme pain. Jet however suddenly gets up as if not hurt at all. You notice her hand is not just light skinned..it almost looks like some sort of fake hand..white as untouched snow.
Jet berates her "You foolish, foolish girl! I've lived through worse! Satin, get her comfortable NOW." There is a rush of activity as all the group ((Silk, Satin, etc)) spring into action making her as comfortable as possible.
When Jakel's name is mentioned..they all just ... stop and go very quiet.

He casts Detect Magic, and .. there is searing pain. He is blinded momentarily as the who place glows very brightly. Every last inch of this place radiates a powerful magic. It's impossible, but yet..there it is. Every stone, every wall, every ceiling and floor...almost pure magic. Whoever, or whatever made this place would be more powerful then a lot of the gods. Coming from a place that magic is so rare, this place shouldn't exist.

Jeddite let Rose go to her work and sent a scathing glare towards Arian. "Let her recover before you ask questions..." He mumbled to the thief, standing just in front of the rogue as he held out a comforting hand, "My lady, are you uninjured?" He asked, letting the symbol of his order, a bracelet that had the rose of Majere dangling from it. That should let her know that he, at least, was not a servant of evil.
((He's Neutral, but serves the good deity of order. After all, even though the monk is a robot, Jeddite believes that what he does is good.  ))

Accustomed to noisy surroundings and loud talks, the sudden silence hits Dorn like calm sea hits the sailors sending shivers down his spine. He looked back at the faces of his companions. When he talked to the downed man again there was no cheerfulness in his voice.
"Who is this Jakel?"

It is Satin who answers Dorn. "Our ancestors are not from this world, they were a group called the The Nine. Nine of the most powerful people of our world. Merlin, Malfallus, Lastriana, Sermator, Broven, Ballustria, Jade, and Kiki. It took all of them combined to defeat him. We thought him destroyed, but if he had a phylactery, an object that could house his spirit..he could have survived. He'd be sealed, most of his power gone, but he'd still be dangerous. One of the most powerful Lich ever."

Austin stumbles back as the shock of the whole area going aglow fills his view. He kneels to the ground to help prevent himself from falling over. Luckily, the same shock broke his concentration so that he doesn't have to continue seeing the brightness for the entirety of the spell.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” she apologized as soon as she recognized the symbol on Jeddite’s bracelet. “I thought you were those men from earlier.”
She looked around as she slowly approached Jeddite and Arian and the sight of the dead monks strengthen her guess that she was already safe. Celestine bowed, closed her eyes and thanked her goddess.
Then she turned to Arian and said, “I have no idea who were those men. I was on my way to Andor’s End when somebody hit me on the head. Then I woke up inside a prison cell, heard those voices about sacrificing me. I remember trying to escape but after that I don’t know what happened next.”
