It's not the story like Baldur's Gate. It's more about the game part so who knows *shrugs*

Yeah, M&M games have nothing to do with Heroes (aside from lore/world, ofc).
If you enjoyed Mandate of Heaven, I guess you'll enjoy M&M X if you don't mind being turn, tile based (wild guess). Just make sure your computer should be able to run the game.

Just noticed that there is 25% discount today for Might and Magic X on Steam. Actually it is Ubisoft weekend (20-24 feb.) so there will be (are) other discounts, too.

Apparently the uplay launcher shows a 10GB download, but in reality it is a ~4GB patch.
4 GB stills looks absurdly big to my eyes, but at least it isn't downloading the whole game again

I've finished act 3 now btw. Seems I'm running out of sidequests since there are no new areas to explore. I'm around level 28 I think and the game's gotten really easy. Will probably ramp up some if I go advance the main plot and don't have much else to do really.

Finished, level 32 in the end and just missing two books from perfect game.
Not too shabby
The end fight is a huge bore and annoyance.
Also the last events in general are a chore since you just have a gazillion enemies appearing from nowhere and you can just spam attack and win because you're too good at that point.
It's much more satisfying to spam the level 4 fire spell and crit 1500 to everyone though

Sounds like any other M&M I've played - in later stages you are just too good to have a challenge, but it's fun

There is The Chaos Conspiracy mod for M&M6, you finish it usually greater than level 250 and still can die from every mob around.

Yes, this was the quote of a game for me too, especially since I got a daughter myself
Great game, quite liked the end boss actually - I was exhausted without supplies and last mana pots and only one hireling - the horse so it was on the knife's edge all the way - and the end boss was very dinamic and conveyed that feeling of being back home ing outmatched and dabbling in things way over my head.

Well, I practically managed to kill the guy in one turn every time.
One turn with just hitting attack with a crit would get him to retreat and recover so challenge it was not.
I didn't use a single health+mana recovery potion in the game so I had 60 of them left over, ridiculous amounts of money because I only ever bought gear at the very start and spells. And I only ever used the second worst healing potion and the decent mana potions. Never had to buy any potions either.
It just doesn't scale the game for the relics or side quests after act 2. After I did the sidequests in act 2 and finished it only spellcasters could keep me from places.Then in act 3, with some relics I could practically stomp all over the place and just not care what I stepped into. This on warrior.

A little piece of trivia: most quests in the game revolve around the idea of legacy. Be it the legacy of blood (stories of parents and children), or legacy of one's actions (people who want to be remembered), or the legacy of past events (old wars that keep haunting people)...

After reading this thread I have some things to ask:
1. Why no Necro in a Heroes game? If there would've been, I would've considered buying the game, but like this no way.
2. Any introduction of more races (Necro?) or classes in the future patches?
3. Will there be stand-alone expansions?
4. Who exactly is Marzhin? Is he some kind of big dawg from Ubi?
I dunno if I'm asking already answered questions but I hope not, got low flexibility on phone internet.
