Heroes of Might and Magic IV HD, anyone?

You know you want it.

Heroes III at first glance seems to be more reasonable, but let's face it - it doesn't need a remake. It's perfect as is. And ever since VCMI is slowly crawling to being 1.0, it's even less needed for a professional remaster to be released.

Heroes IV, on the other hand, is in quite a bad need for a remake - sure, it's got great music and gameplay, but it's not really visually or audibly pleasing (not to me at least) - playable, yes, but not really smooth or beautiful.

It might be due to fact that it doesn't have a high resolution support, but that's only a part of the problem.

I genuinely like Heroes IV - you can see that in my Heroes VII vision thread due to how many mechanics of Heroes IV I tried to re-incorporate into it, but I don't really find the game good to play (from the aesthetics standpoint, gameplay itself is pretty fine).

Would anyone be up for that game to be remade by Overhaul Games or some other fella company? (assuming Ubi would allow them to, but it's not like they're getting huge profits from the older Heroes games, if any.)
Unless there's some sort of "SPA"/HD mod for H4 which I'm not aware of.

There were some interesting gameplay mechanics, but you'd have to do something about the way heroes went from weak to massively overpowered, and the sieges, IIRC the H4 method there was quite despised.

Not trying to advertise anything here, but I think that I got this nailed down RELATIVELY well in my Heroes VII vision thread - it's not perfect, but it's there.

The question is not who would be here for (not me anyway) but for what crazy reason a company would choose to remake a fiasco game, while there are already out 2 better sequels. This is fiction.

SPOILER: They aren't better.
Not H6 at least. H5 is questionable.

IMO H5 has the best skill system (in concept) of any game of the series, much better than H4's one where to get fully skilled up takes like 80 levels. I never liked the exclusive recruitment idea of H4.

H4 was full of interesting mechanics, but interesting =/= good.

I disagree. Interesting ideas always add to a game. The way they are implemented and how the game plays is another issue.

THe problem with H4 was, imo, the bad visuals(UI+Graphics), dodgy balance and maybe bugs(Havent played it long enough).

Maybe you'd care to explain the positive qualities behind the H4 lineup system, the one where you can only get 5 creatures from any one town. It was an interesting idea right enough, but it wasn't a good one.

H IV and H V were fun game to play!
The first because of the hero on the battlefield!
The second because of the randomness of the skillwheel ( end the game in general) but il was also his achilles' heel.
H VI= no fun, no randomness always the same heroe's build, no specificity except for the racial...

Also, no variation in terms of town building etc.
H5 is somewhat playable, but H6 is just utter snow.
