The changes to the third upgrade have created significant problems. Coronius, whom you may recall can update all forms of centaurs to sylvan centaurs, loses that ability as soon as the second upgrade is built in town. He doesn't regain that ability when the third upgrade structure is built. Also, centaur captains can't upgrade in town to centaur archers. I'll upload a saved game so you can look. Also, I'll back up a few saves and see if I can work around the problem by just never upgrading the centaur dwelling.

Well, apparently, the problem is caused by any upgrade, and now I also have a negative stone count as well. I would guess the problem lies somewhere in the new towns era file.

Edit 1: Also, third upgraded dwellings don't allow me to recruit units, and price shows as zero for third upgrades, negative numbers for 2nd upgrades.

Are you sure you started a new game with it? I couldn't reproduce it. The save please.

I believe I uploaded a save yesterday. Check SK 31a 0028.GM1  (The 31 is for Beta 31, the a indicates it's my first (and at this point only) game with that beta. (So yes, I started a new game. I always do that to look at a new version.) Oh, I see there's a later save (29), so I uploaded that one.

Using save 29, update the dragon dwelling to third level and see what you get. I've provided a screen shot that shows what I get--a negative number available for recruitment if gold dragons are selected. The number becomes zero available if diamond dragons are selected. This may partly be because I now have a negative number of crystals. I've tried doing the third upgrade on the unicorn dwelling also, and that doesn't seem to have the same problem. But the difference between gold and diamond dragon recruitment numbers can't be explained by the negative crystal count.

Anyway, you also have a screenshot shot of Coronius's screen, showing no centaur update available. This issue arises at some point after at least one second upgrade has been done.

(As far as Coronius is concerned, I know he can't upgrade to sylvan centaurs from the town screen. Creature specialists haven't been able to do that in any of the versions I've played recently. I always move out of town when I need to do that kind of upgrade.)

That is because you have negative number of resources. Which can happen with new plugin. Will fix. Your game will fix itself if you become all resources non-negative.

That does sound as if it would take care of the inability to hire resource-dependent creatures, but is that also the solution to the sylvan centaur problem? (Those upgrades only involve cash, not crystals.)

EDIT 1: By the way, I've been testing your suggestion about how to solve the problem with crashes following a battle with an heir. (I'm using beta 30 for the test, but I'm hoping that particular situation isn't any different in 31.) Anyway, it appears that if I designate an heir, the problem goes away, just as you predicted.

Yes, I've now finished that game with no crashes, heir-related or otherwise.

I'm perpetually amazed at how rapidly you address these issues. I'll find some time to test today and see how everything is working.

EDIT 1: Creature specialist issues are fixed. It is still possible to go into negative numbers with resources. This happens when the game allows a building project for which resources are not available. (This was probably the case before, but I didn't realize that's what the issue was.)

Interestingly, this doesn't happen all the time. There are instances in which the game correctly shows that a particular structure can't be built because the resources aren't there. The game seems to handle increasing town earnings and resource silos correctly. It also seems to handle third upgrades correctly. Where it occasionally has a glitch is with construction of vanilla game structures.

I've uploaded a save that shows me with gems at -3 after building the fifth level of the mage guild.

Otherwise, so far all is well. It's easy enough to play around the current issue by keeping an eye on resources and not relying on the game to do it.

EDIT 2: I'm up to month 3, week 3, and the gaming experience is still smooth, with no crashes and few error messages. However, I did have one question. Can the AI utilize the new third upgrade feature? I ask because I've conquered three capitols so far, and none of them have third dwelling upgrades. One might be coincidence, but three makes it look as if the AI doesn't know what to do with those.

there was an option but I disabled it because it was unstable. If I know how to cure it I will make AIs buy new creatures. Anyway there should be an option to also buy new dwellings for AI which I not yet implemented, but I will do

Battle Queye should be compatible, but I do not guarantee it.
AI don't use them yet.
The update is mostly bugfix and sync up.

Hi there. This mod looks great! I haven't tried it yet but I plan to do so shortly. The description in the original post mentions that this mod 'Adds two new Neutral Towns'. Are these really two brand new towns that the player can control? I didn't see any new towns in the screenshots so I'm just wondering. Cheers.
